1/5 scale RC Kill Switch fail safe prototype

In this video i give a look and demo of a prototype kill switch for 1/5th scale gas engines that will give nearly a 100% failsafe operation and it does not require a battery to properly shut the engine off in a runaway situation

New to gas but i have had my nitro car run away when the receiver pack died. Small 1/10 so it would just run into the bushes and get hung up on the brush. Not a 60 lbs $3000 rc. Could only imagine the horror. Nice DIY! Looking forward to the end results 👍

Very interesting Brian! I’m always interested in a better kill switch. I am very surprised at how well it worked without protection as I’ve always thought the ignition on these engines would be super noisy!
Look forward to future research on these!

Hey Todd, the relay does help isolate the pic from the emi and i had some more ferrites on the coil line and a bunch of caps at the breadboards. I was kind of surprised that the scope showed as little high amplitude noise as it did. Thanks for checking it out
