  • SO I finally finished up the programming video for the Radiolink RC6GS, this is a whopper of a video. It took me about 2 days of on and off filming to get it all done, and then it took me about 6 hours to edit. I am really proud to present to you an in depth programming guide to this radio. I hope you all are able to learn how to program each function (except the mixing).
    I also want to say a big thank you to all of our Active duty and Veterans on this memorial day weekend. This is a weekend to remember all of those we lost that were defending ours and others freedoms. This weekend if you see a Vet, please thank them for their service. They gave their lives uo so they could be a part of something bigger than themselves, often times sacrificing time with their families and friends. They all deserve our thanks on this the week which we honor all of our fallen warriors.
    I also want to thank my good friend Mike for helping me and my family through some tough times and always being able to cheer me up.
    To my family, I love you all very very much. xoxoxoxoxo

    Thank you, Stickie! Old school R/C modeler here. verry old school.. finally upgrading to a modern system and being verry computer illiterate its a bit of a struggle for me. All my models still have late 80's, early 90's Futaba radio gear. currently building a 1:32 live steam tugboat attempting to use my airplane 8ch radio to operate a tugboat proved to futile. Yes, I stepped over a dollar to pick up a dime. So after some serious soul searching, I bit the bullet and just bought myself one of these radios. I cant get over how much technology has advanced! hell back in the day you needed separate circuits to perform all these functions. I was a huge Radio Shack and RAMtronics geek. Im really considering dusting off and opening up my vintage truck and converting to this system. (RC Car-Action, January 1996)

    24:00 with regards to the Failsafe (F/S), i'm going to do 100+ on the throttle like you did (full brake) but I'll make sure my ESC is set to have no reverse (just throttle/brake). This is for my speed run car. For the offroad truggy, I'll just leave throttle at zero/idle since I want to retain reverse. I think doing full brake with reverse capability will send car in full speed reverse with signal loss.

    Hi, can you teach if the VR knob can be used to hold position of servo, like a steering channel but without return to center?

    • @Stickies72
      @Stickies72  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it can be used in such a way, which I am not sure it can, there would need to be a controller on the servo end to make the adjustments. The VR cannot be programmed to control a servo channel (position 1 or 2 on the receiver) so in order to give the correct info to the servo itself it would need a separate controller. In the receiver the steering port would have this info programmed. At this point i think the VR knob is basically multi function on or off switch. I will reach out to Radio link and see if there is anything like that available. Thank you, great question!

    I'm still trying to figure out what the FWD-VTR does..(edit) I ABSOLUTELY love this TX/RX

    • @Stickies72
      @Stickies72  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The VTR will adjust the curve of throttle when you squeeze the trigger. You have to hold the "+ or -" key for a while to see the curve actually change. As it starts as a straight line you will see it gradually start to make a curve either sweeping down or up or a "bubble" If the bubble is going down then the throttle will increase more slowly as you squeeze the trigger allowing you to make much finer adjustments to your throttle through you finger. This setup is good for low traction or crawling as it allows you to move your finger on the trigger without have drastic increase or decrease in throttle. If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to post, Thank you very much Eric!

    I don't understand why there isn't any videos on how to program the RadioLink RC6GS v3 to the Hobbywing Fusion quickrun SE. I'm having trouble, I have never done any kind of RC stuff that requires programming. Do you think that you could help? I'm using a 2s lipo 7.4v. I'll also need to know how to change the settings from 2s to 3s in the transmitter if you know how to do that. Any help is very much appreciated!

    • @Stickies72
      @Stickies72  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have not used a v3 as of yet but it should be much like the v2 in this video. On the switch from 2s to 3s your hobbywing fusion setup should auto recognize that so nothing needs to be done there. All of the voltage and cell stuff is handled by the esc in the fusion. The fusion setup is very nice as it does a lot of stuff automatically. As far as the radio settings most of will still apply to the v3, whereas the v3 has a bit newer design and a few new features. If you go to the radiolink website and look at the online manual they have it has a ton more info in it than what came in the box. Mostly you will only need to make a couple of adjustments, your steering end points, and steering alignment, and total steering throw(total travel for the steering servo). Hope this at least gets you going. If you need more help you can watch my live show on Wednesdays evening at 5:30 est and my self and jb can answer questions live.

      @@Stickies72 First off thank you for replying I appreciate it. I finally figured it out. Like you said I had to change a few settings in the radio. The EPA setting controls the amount of steering (Left & Right) I set (ST) in the EPA settings to 55% and (TH) to 60%. That corrected the steering and the throttle I don't want much speed. Now is this setting the same as (TH) in the EPA settings--->(ACCEL)? I have FWRD Set to 55% and BRAK is 100%. And this setting is what game me the most trouble because my truck was running weird--->A.B.S It was set at default but I played around with the settings and got it figured out. So my A.B.S settings are MODE (INH) ABP (50) DLY 100 CYC (30) TGP (50) DTY (0) and STM (*E 50)
      When I had A.B.S turned on and throttled reverse and turned at the same time it was like I was tapping the break ...start-n-stop...it stopped doing that when I changed from (ON) to (INH). These settings I'm mentioning now I still don't know how to set properly, STSPD,THSPD, IDLUP, D/R, ATL, PMIX01 and 2, and DSC. I'm also gonna be switching over from a 3s 11.4v lipo I run 2 &3s question is will I have to switch to 3s in the radio or the ESC or will it recognize the difference?

    I use a RC6GS V3 radio transmitter to play Need for Speed. I calibrated it on 'Set Up USB Game Controllers' in Windows 11. It works, but when I pull the throttle the car goes in reverse. I tried to go into NFS settings - Controls/Sensitivity Tuning/Customize, I put all the sensitivities on medium, but I'm still going in reverse, and the speeds are very slow. Ho do I fix this?

      I would try and reverse the throttle and see if that fixes it. In the menu there is a reverse option, reverse the throttle and that should fix it. Very cool idea for a video game controller, I am going to need to try this myself!!! Thank you very much Catherine!!

    I haven't seen the movie yet, so I'm wondering what Nimitz class carrier is in the movie, since Enterprise CV-65 was decommissioned and being scrapped when the movie was being filmed, and the new Gerald R. Ford class Enterprise is under construction? Since Ronald Reagan was President when the original Top Gun came out, it would be cool if the carrier scenes take place on the USS Ronald Reagan, as a tribute to a great movie franchise, a great decade, and a great President.
    Who knows, maybe Top Gun III, if they make it, may take place on the new Ford class USS Enterprise.

I am looking forward to watching Maverick for sure, as a big fan of the original I have high hopes that this will be as epic! Thank you Exodriver!!!

    I just got this radio and it seems much better than the stock rtr radio that came with my Fireteam. Only issue I’m having is reverse doesn’t always seem to work. I’m guarding it a calibration issue but I can’t find anywhere how to calibrate the radio. How is this done?

    • @Stickies72
      @Stickies72  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I might try and check the esc, then check the end points on throttle. It could be the end points are set that reverse is only getting hit at the very end. The esc m8ght have a setting too where there is brake and then reverse. If neither of those work come back, and I'll try and do more research on my end. Thank you jblaze!

      @@Stickies72 I did the calibration last night on the throttle, neutral and brake as shown in a video. While testing it on a stand it still seems to have times where reverse doesn’t engage right away or at all. Then other times it engaged right when it’s supposed to. Very odd. Plus I’ve never noticed the brakes not engaging when I went to use it. Definitely confused. Otherwise the radio is great. Luckily I don’t use a ton of reverse. Thanks for the help.

      Not in the transmitter, but you can set up most ESC's with the Forward/Brake/Reverse setup. That would be when you press forward it applies the brakes until you release and press again then it activates reverse. I think that might be as close as you can get. Thank you @Druscanam!

      I know, just wanted to have to avoid buying program card if possible.
      I have a rocket 120A sensoed/sensorless ESC. I think it can be programmed without a card cause it's got a set button, but I can't find my original manual or it online so I just purchased a program card today.
      It does current have a forward/brake reverse function although on track because I'm hitting the braking multiple time mid corner not just to brake but to pivot the rear around occasionally it hits reverse. When racing in an organised event you are meant to have reverse disabled which is what I'll probably just end up doing when I get the program card.

      @@Stickies72 how do you set up the aux?

    • @Stickies72
      @Stickies72  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So for the Aux channels you can select which button or switch you want to assign them too. The user manual you can download from Radiolink has way more info in it than the one it comes with.
      For changing the AUX channels EPA/Endpoints/trims and such you need to go into those menu specific spots like EPA for instance. Once you have chosen what switch or button, go into that one in the EPA say Chanel 3. I made my channel 3 the 3 position switch on the front side of the steering wheel on my phoenix to use for the DIG. I set the EPA all the way down to 2% on each side so when I got it all installed and linked it would basically not move the servo when I switched back and forth. Then slowly increase the percent until you start to see it move, keep doing that until you get the end points set so it does not overstress the servo and burn it up. I have burned up a few servos by not doing this. When you open the AUX channel menu it will show only 3-6 as 1 & 2 are already set to the wheel and trigger. The others can be set to any position though, even the trigger and wheel. 1 thing i learned recently is the buttons on the grip are an on when they are pressed and off when you let go. So far I have not figured out how to change that. The online manual has a great diagram of the controller which shows the label for each button and switch, I do not remember if the one in the box has that diagram I lost that manual. Thank you TB!! If you have any more question keep them coming, always willing to help someone get the most out of there RC experience!

      That is s strange one, I typically only get power alarms when the battery is very low. I have this radiolink and I love it but questions how I can set my break?

    • @Stickies72
      @Stickies72  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brake depends on the esc and type of rc. If we are talking trail truck check and see if you have a programmable esc, for instance a hobbywing you can get a program box and adjust the brake with it. If is a factory esc like Traxxas, axial, or any of them check the online manual on how to set it up. Heads up most factory ones are a pain to program. The transmitter will be able to dial in more brake only if you are using a throttle Servo in a nitro or gas rig, and there you you dual in more negative throw in the throttle end points to give you more swing on the reverse. Let me know if this helps, if not let me know and I'll try and do more research on the scenic car and electronics you are using.

    On the f/s (failsafe) if you put throttle to-100 it doesn't go to break!! It goes to FULL FING REVERSE!! And if your car is fast you won't be able to catch it and it's going to explode ... I now know😒 just leave it at 0. Unless your riding a jet ski that you need to spin around and pick you up leave them all alone.

      Id say -2% is wise any more electric will go in reverse.
      Fail safes aint for electric really, its a ESSENTIAL nitro thing, to put brake on so throttle dont stay open & you dont instinctively run after it then land on your face like i did.😂
      Meanwhile the car goes into the distance Smashes up, with throttle wide open & by the time you scrape your face off the road your engine overheats & blows.
      Stock rtr radio didn't have fail safe so i had to buy a flysky & a new engine on my first ever car in its first week😢
