- First 10 seconds are a bit dodgy !
'No Stilettos' was a short-lived BBC music series made by BBC Scotland in Glasgow, and presented by Eddi Reader. The programme was broadcast in 1993 on BBC2 in the UK and was recorded in the Cottier Theatre, a converted church in Glasgow's west-end.
For almost three decades I've been telling people I saw Jarvis Cocker on the television perform in a church eating a whole orange just before singing. By complete accident I've found that performance.
Jarvis is the only singer in the whole universe who can peel a tangerine onstage and eat it that elegantly.
Great performance. And Jarvis is utterly and incredibly sexy in this one.
I'd read about the taping of this show from the Tansads' POV, but I had no idea how mindblowingly gorgeous this performance was!
dancing so effortlessly in those shoes is a genuine feat
Absoloutely love this version.
ya no se hacen piezas maestras como esta
Few words can describe the intro to 'She's a lady'. Sheer genius :-)
And then the jerk they got to produce the album made Russell drop the violin. They shoulda sacked him right there. Beggars belief
@@clangersspace2679 yea wtf was that.
Funny, because normally Ed Buller was so on the money - production-wise, especially with Pulp and Suede '92-'94
I mean i do like the guitar on the album version, but this version does kick ass
love intro!!
this episode changed my life in 1993. mainly ani difranco but love all of it!
I LOVE this video! The song "the Jarvis.." amazing..
sexy
fucking amazing
Real britpop
Wauw
Sort the tracking out! ;)
Is Russell a John Cale fan?
Pulp acknowledged that they were influenced by VU, so I wouldn't be surprised
The rest of history
Hi. Do you have a full recording of this show? I would love to see The Tansads' performance.
WTF?
