My twin mattress was way harder on every step. Breaking down the spring part is definitely the hardest part.

The mattress springs fold up reasonably well with a couple of zip ties, to make it easy for transport or if you have access to a small dumpster.

Good tips just finished dismantling two mattress from my rental properties…..
Thank you for this video! My first thought was burning my ancient king mattress and box spring but I live in a subdivision….yeah….lol. My other idea was to take it apart before I thought to look on TH-cam for ways to get rid of a king size Mattress and box spring. It look like such a big job but I can’t think of any other way to get rid of it! It’s doable! Maybe I can prop the metal part against a fiancé and grow some cucumbers, beans or other vine or vines on it!

Cut my mattress open and it was packed with wood shavings. It was a complete mess. This is what happens when you buy a mattress @ a furniture store by a highway.

Thanks but I have to say that the springs are the worst bit by far. I cant just give them away no one wants them including our metal recyclers. Dismantling the springs is a job in itself.
My sister put them in the garden and grew plants through them as interesting features
Gotta take them to a scrap yard, they'll give u like 5 cents for them but at least the disposal is free
