    Great video.
One day I would like to restore my Triumph roundhead and fit a DRO. I am very lucky the old girl has very little wear and the accuracy I can get is incredible for such an old lathe.

Can't believe he'd welded that in! What an animal. Good job his welding isn't great. If it's any consolation he's used a grease gun for the Harrison mill as well, it's taking a LOT of cleaning out!!

I need a main input shaft (the one the Small double pulley/brake drum mounts to) - wonder if yours is the same as mine?

Nice tidy up of the machine. We have to be honest in what we class as a restoration this is not a restoration it’s a clean up massive difference. A restoration would bring the machine back to original specs if not better. Great clean up it looks great.

Superb work bonny lad, I've loved ever minute of this restoration, well done.
Just a couple of questions, who was the band you played in the last twenty minutes or so, as I couldn't identify them, but it did sound good, especially for driving music :), and where in the North East are you from ? I'm originally from Murton, but I've lived in the South East since 1973 after my apprenticeship days finished.
    Keep up the great work.

Hi bit of a long shot but do you still have the parts lathe? I would be interested in some parts if you do Cheers

Great work on the old machine! I have a Mk1 student from 1956. It's not in bad shape for its age, but would couple of gears would help it. Was wondering if you still had the old student you were using for spares?

Hi. I have a Colchester Master 6 1/2 like yours in the video. I'm cleaning it and fixing as you are. Same ideas about a VFD and such. Your video has nice detail telling me what I needed to know about removing feed and cross slide feeds. Very timely for me!
I do need a better spindle collar that holds the chuck on. Mine has been abused and works but is *very* worn.
Could I score that one off the wrecker that you have please? Let me know how to pay you etc etc. Steve in AU.

I will be getting the student machine stripped down for parts and will be in touch once it's dismantled :)

@@Adventure_Van_Upgrades Perfect. Very pleased to get the collar. I have cleaned the saddle and cross slide, also the top slide of mine. I have a bit of wear on the flat way side of the saddle. probably 5 thou. I'm going to run it like that for now. If I get the inclination I may get some turcite and pack that in.
My other irritation is the gap bed insert looks like it has not been set correctly (ever) so that's my next bit of mucking about.
My lathe has not had way wipers for a long time....I'll be sorting that too!. Other than that, the innards look good. Head stock has has a complete disassembly and new oil also - everything cleaned within an inch of its life.... Now that I know how to pull things apart, I have little fear of the thing.
I'll ask you for a price on the main spindle and bearings from he breaker machine if you can do that for me also. I know there is a heap of grunge in the headstock of the breaker machine (holy smokes that is SO bad!) but I'm interested in the spindle and collar anyway.
Nice work with the video. Very helpful for me - I have to say. Much appreciated. Stevo

Hi, I’m also restoring my round head Master but for some reason it doesn’t have the brake drum inside the drive pulley. Did that Student have one? Great video mate, viewing from New Zealand 🇳🇿

you probably have the clutch unit instead of the safety-lock system. in my opinion the clutch is way better
