The interviewer is good. He asked intelligent questions and he was interested in Roddys answers. Roddy is a pro. He never talks negative about anyone. Fun to watch.

In 1974 I had the opportunity to visit the Planet of the Apes TV show set. I was 12 and we were watching a scene with Roddy McDowell in full ape make-up and costume. Maybe it was his humanity that I was so taken by, but I was a huge fan of Roddy's and his ape characters. He could tell, because when there was a break, he walked across the soundstage right up to me to scrunch his brow and say "Hello". I don't even know if I said anything. It was all I could do to keep from falling over. Thinking about this huge event from my childhood, I can't help but think what a generous and caring act this was. And that is pretty much all you hear about Roddy's legacy. He was generous and caring.

He photographed and took home 16mm film of all the biggest stars, and not so big stars, in particular, 1965, at his small beach house in Malibu. They all trusted him. He never betrayed any of them. The kind of friend anyone would want.

Hats off to the director, he selected a perfect boy then. . According to me, he acted in this movie mainly using his eyes. Almost every scene, he did talking with his eyes. Roddy was a gay man, I'd like to know more about his life in that respect. He accomplished so much and was so respected yet had to work undercover all his life. Amazing man, would have loved to have met him!

Look at his Wikipedia page and check out his filmography and television work. Amazing.

Funny how at the end Roddy seemed surprised as if to say, Is that all? Don't I get more time? Would have loved to meet and interview him.

He used to be called The Secret Keeper of Hollywood. His parts were not to be published in any way for so many years after his death. I wonder if anyone ever wrote a book from researching his journals.

Watch all the home movies he took which are on you tube as well. Famous Hollywood stars in the 1960s acting like normal people.
