The Harry Potter reboot is about to be the first property to be too woke and fascist at the same time. It’s like they noticed that the Harry Potter actors are the only child actors who didn’t get completely ruined by the industry and this new reboot is determined to traumatize a new batch of kids to make up for it.
The sad thing is that HBO is gonna do race blind casting for Brownie points while not actually being committed to their well being. Those poor kids are going to be on the receiving end of so much bigotry.

Not because of anything like continuity but because can you imagine how horrible it would be when they get to the SPEW arc and the black female lead is at worst treated as dumb and at best “silly” for wanting to free the magic slaves. Sure it’ll be nice to demonstrate the tenacity amongst minorities in helping each other out but imagine an 12 year old black girl watching someone like her receive mostly apathy from peers and professors for a good cause.

The only way Harry Potter could go back to being remotely palatable to the fans it’s been losing is to make Hermione a legitimate class hero to house elves and give Harry some actual principles and make him a protagonist who wants to change things for the better rather than just kill the dark lord and save the also horribly corrupt wizard society from having to look inward at all.
Not just scrutiny but making a series with child actors where they grow up? The pace is gonna be insane since they can't take their time because the actors are ageing. Even the original HP movies changed the child protection laws in the UK so they could get made.

Our existence and participation in anything is "woke," in that bastardized meaning of the term, which means "women and minority are around and aren't serving/servicing a while male protagonist." I wish people would stop misusing black folks' slang, honestly. But there's always a purposeful reason for doing so. If none of the hate towards her or any film that centered women or minorities or LGBTQIA+ people had occurred and to such an intense degree, if Wakanda Forever hadn't gotten called "racist" just because it centers black people and brown people, then called "woke" because it centers women, if bigotry wasn't still as widespread, we could say, "Hmm. Maybe people just don't think it looks interesting." But we know better. If I think something looks boring, I don't even dislike. I just leave the video. You have to say/do something to elicit a negative response from me to get a dislike. Not everyone is the same, but bigots are VERY vocal with their b.s.
Just went and watched the 'Angel City' trailer. It looks like the main difference is that Portman is starting a team from scratch in LA (with some others), which is a … somewhat different narrative than resurrecting a team. Curious to see if the world has the energy for both shows.
The opening of this episode was extremely satisfying i.e determining how famous bad bunny is by comparing home to ancient hip hop artists from the beginning of time. I also feel the need to point out that there is quite a bit of torture porn in infinity war.
I agree with the experience at Universal with Nintendo World. It was STRIKING when we first walked in. Five stars. But as an adult there is really nothing to do hahah. It was four hours to get to the Mario kart ride, two hours to eat in the cafe, etc. But they really did capture a Mario World for sure! Lots to do elsewhere in Universal, though.
my favorite part of listening to these backwards to the beginning was the grand announcement of video coming, then room Rennervations, then deciding to set up for video, finally them wondering if they should. knowing it was all for nothing.

I've watched so many people go from making stellar videos that actually had substance into something that absolutely has no value beyond rage clicking. Literally one person you could have put as the leading person for lore in their particular field. Had they actually put in *good* work, they could have been going around, comfortably, as a main stay in the community. Instead, they are only held by the worst people in the community and essentially not even mentioned in passing.
I would ask if you were talking about StarvWars, Comics or Warhammer 40K but I realized it could be and is all three I’d them anyway. It makes me so sad that this THIS and I guess leaks and leaks and speculation are kinda the only things that I see almost all the time now these days.
