in the last few days I'm continuing to listen to the Japanese version of this famous song, try to listen to it is done very well: Never going to Give You Up | JAPANESE Ver. | Caitlin Myers feat. @annapantsu @LilyPichu&Lizz Robinett
Luke, I am really missing male v-tuber representation in your reactions =^.^= Are you in for another treat ?
I strongly recommend to check out Hayato Kagami from Nijisanji. His songs WITHIN and PIERCE are fire and you will be pleasantly surprised by his voice range. These 2 songs are my favourites but he can sing really lighthearted and playful songs as well.
Gurren lagann openings?
This is a very underated anime but a good anime i am so sad that this anime is not famous few people react to the openings Try Reacting to (Legend of Galactic Heroes Die Neue These)Op And Ending There The Best It is similar to Game of Thrones And Star wars there are 3 openings 2 and 3 are the same music but different visuals there are 3 endings as well there are no magic in this anime only sci-fi but the political struggles of 2 faction The Free Planets Alliance Are Democracy And the Goldenbaum Empire are Totalitarianism Government the Anime reflects the politics in our real world in this anime the are no good and evil only different philosophy and human Nature of different characters in this anime there two versions of this anime the ( Legend of the Galactic Heroes Die Neue These )is the one i recommending to you is released in 2018 is the new perspective the other vision is (Legend of the Galactic Heroes) was released in 1980 it has a lot of episode 110 in total the 2018 has 12 episode each season currently the 2018 version has 4 seasons currently airing
Watame is such a wonderful person. She’s so soft spoken and sweet and always seeks to make her streams a super comfy place for everyone. When she sings she puts so much emotion into every performance and as this song title says: this is truly her song, HER story.
Ah I love that! She sounds awesome and has such a beautiful voice ❤️
She also became known early on because of how many times she disconnected during her streams
@@ambershangout7226 Watame wa, warukunai yo ne?
(This is a real text wall, so just recommending Watame's song Everlasting Soul up top. (Also yes the big Watame is her standard outfit. She's got a few of them like a red dress in Dreamy Sheep.))
Thanks for checking out Watame (It was close, but the ending "me" is like meh rather than a hard e)! She's grown massively since starting at Hololive and always works on improving. This sheep has been through a lot in her life, from family difficulties to struggling with personal inadequacies, but despite that has always been very determined to keep pushing forward with music even though she often felt there wasn't a path for her to take. This sheep absolutely gets my highest recommendation. She's got a lot of songs and other content with a fair bit of it being English subbed.
Since it's called "My Song" it's little is a deeply personal song about her history with music after she moved to Tokyo to chase her dreams and some of her hopes for the future. For a long time she felt like her music wasn't going anywhere despite working with some people that were well known and talented. She didn't think much of her singing ability, she was essentially unknown, and the music she made nobody listened to. Needless to say she often felt like she was incapable and was letting those who worked with her and herself down. There were years and years of really heavy feelings bound up in this one.
Since it was a song so close to her heart she wanted to go fully in on the MV and we got this fully animated piece. It's a really dense MV! All the animated "location shots" are actual places in Tokyo and some fans actually go on a little pilgramage to each of them. It has many small details and easter eggs, like the flowers having the same colors as the rest of the members of her Hololive generation, or there being the same number of gulls flying as there were members of Hololive before Watame joined, or just even the more on the nose part where "Watame" came to Hololive and bacame the bigger-than-life Watame we all know. There was probably a good 20 or so people on the project - including people like Takashi Ishida who did directing/storyboard work on Zombie Land Saga.
For Watame's music more generally speaking: She has more than 2 albums filled with 17 original songs with a lot of different styles besides what you find in My Song. She's got some rocking sounds in Everlasting Soul and mayday mayday, 3 songs with Calli (two of which the sheep raps in), some bubbly Jpop and more. If you want to check out more of Watame I'd suggest Everlasting Soul as it might be up your alley as it's basically Watame filling into vocalist slot for Myth & Roid. Other than that maybe Reaper vs Sheep done by Calliope and Watame (there are two versions of this, one on Watame's channel and one on Calli's channel. The backing track is the same, but the lyrics are different. They also did a big flip from what they usually do for the Watame's version.)
While Watame still has her struggles she has come a long way since joining Hololive. She has big goals she wants to do like performing at the Budokan or getting music in an anime, so it'd be great if people checked out what this sheep has to offer. I'm pretty confident that someone could find a song from her that they like and she's got a lot more on the way.
Also if you want someone other than Watame, I'd also recommend Okayu's cover of FLOS or her original Mogu Mogu Yummy. She's got a really smooth voice and has a full album of original music.
I felt sad for Watame when Kiryu Coco left Hololive, because they were really close friends IRL, and you could tell when they said their "goodbyes." The farewell letter she wrote to Coco is a tear-jerker.
@@yohannbiimu There is a lot that could be said about all the different ways they helped each other out that'd take a long time to list here. I guess the simplest way to put it is they were certainly the best partners in crime. Also, yeah, that letter floored everyone when it dropped. I remember hearing about how even some of the Hololive staff was crying during it. (Assuming you mean the MV one from Coco's birthday?).
Okayu's "Akkanbe" is one of my favorites
@@Helmir That's the one I was thinking about. I'd forgotten that it was for Coco's birthday. I got that letter and the one she read to Coco on her last stream mixed up. The one for her birthday is just an amazing expression of friendship and love.
@@yohannbiimu Yeah. A lot of people were also happy she got Blueta to do the art as he had been a long term Watamate and Tatsunoko. It was really special.
Watame is such a sweet and kind person. What a good empathic sheep. And she's a really great singer. Edit: the title is sorta explained when name dropped in the lyrics "The strides I make are tiny and lack all confidence. But they come together to form my song, so hear me now!"
Oh thank you! Can't wait to hear it ❤️
Watame is a bundle of emotions.
She laughs sweetly and reacts funny. The image of a sheep suits her perfectly.
If something sad happens, and she tells it in her soft trembling voice and sniffing, it breaks the heart.
She might burst into tears because of the thank you comment.
If you love Watame she does a singing stream nearly every weekend. She calls those Watame Night Fever, they are such a treat to have on in the background.
Watame is amazing, isn't she?
This song has a lot of background about her life story, her dream is to perform in the great Budokan, that's why se takes music very seriously. My Song is a masterpiece of Hololive, just a fraction of what she can do.
Since you discovered Watame, i really recommend Reaper vs Sheep, a collaboration of Watame and Calli in a rap battle. Yes, Watame can rap too and she is among the best rappers of Hololive alongside with Calli.
Thank you very much for checking her!!
☝️🐏💛
She's just awesome!! ❤️❤️
Watame is such a incredible sweetheart, I love her so much!
She is a streaming beast too, she streams almost every day and 5+ hours are normal
Also this song..is something really special and you can hear it in her voice that she really means what she is singing here
Watame is a total sweetheart, she's talented, she has a comforting voice, and most importantly she DID NOTHING WRONG. For these reasons, she's in my top 5 Holomems.
She is a part of Generation 4, along with Towa, Kanata, Luna, and the graduated Coco.
Edit: Tokino Sora - "I love you so much, I think I’m going to cry" is a great first-take song. Sora is classically trained and can even sing opera, though due to the strain on her vocal cords rarely does so on stream. Excellent Jpop and ballad voice too though.
I'm such a huge fan of your Hololive reactions. Welcome to the rabbit hole! Watame is such an incredible vocalist and deserves all of the love and praise! :) As for a reaction suggestion, and I apologize if this has been done or mentioned before, but Takanashi Kiara's DO U would be amazing!
If you liked this, you would definitely love Watame x Calliope song collaborations Reaper vs. Sheep. -Ouen ver and Kenko ver. They are connected, its like a back and forth or more like a rap battle. In the Ouen ver you hear Calliope singing in english and Watame Japanese, but in the Kenko ver you can hear a Calliope speaking japanese while watame sings in english. I recommend reacting to both in the same video, because they share the same beat!
And then there is Cloudy Sheep.
This is the next logical step. Gotta do both versions back to back.
I recommended this a few weeks back, would still love to see it
yeah i was just gonna say the same xD
Yeah they're great. Also Cloudy Sheep and Dreamy Sheep (especially since it's her dancing in them!).
Watame is very soft and chill with her streams like you'd expect a sheep to be. One thing about her, though, is a running joke that she "did nothing wrong" when she apologizes for something. I think it began with "Tsunomaki Watame - I'm sorry for my internet", with the translated clip running for less than a minute, and you get a really good look at her in this mode.
Coming off of that, she posted "Tsunomaki Watame - I fixed my internet!" which also runs for less than a minute. I think you'll enjoy these.
Watame have two side
Soft and chill
Or
Wata ouji
And Coco really helped her by making it a bit of a meme, so that people found her connection issues more endearing than annoying. o7 Kaichou! We will never forget you and all that you've done!
@@mrmxypltk IIRC, Watame was feeling really sad for her debut stream getting cut off for too many times; Coco told her that it was the greatest running gag that fell right into her lap that she had to take advantage of. When Moona experienced the same network instability at her debut stream she followed suit and released her "Crappy Connection" song.
@@Seele2015au Coco also helped market Kanata's PPT shirt when it wasn't selling well. Truly a Legendary Dragon. She was always ready to help and support not just her own gen, but everyone else as well.
@@Seele2015au I didn't find out about that until Coco's birthday stream when Watame gave her the MV/letter thanking her for everything she'd done for her. That was absolutely beautiful. I hope that they're still close.
i love watame, her personality just like a sheep, so soft, sweet, and fluffy. even her singing voice is so awesome.
Watame is definietly a highly recommended vtuber! Her singing can touch people's heart for sure and My Song is special in that area too, since it't the result of putting out all the frustration, hard work, the feeling of being lost, a resolution to reach further heights and the hope of a possible future of new heights. A place where she could finally acknowledge all that hard work she put into it. A song that tells about feelings that probably every creator out there experienced before and probably most of them has to fight with constantly even now. A beautiful song for sure.
Watame isn't the first talent you hear about when people talk Hololive and singing, but DAMN does she deliver!
You would never guess she could sing like that from how soft spoken she is on stream. It's a huge shock the first time you listen to it after knowing her 😁 *Such a gap! kk*
On a secondary note, I saw "Hololive anime" and clicked on it by reflex thinking it was the Hololive Alternative teaser vids. I am not dissatisfied in the least, cause listening to the sheep is life S2
But damn, am I hoping for a reaction to those vids. It's a great way to see a lot of holomembers, both familiar faces and faces yet to meet.
Finally you get caught to her! Watame take singing on very serious level, she make MVs like this and even if they're simpler, she also add en subs which simplify for foreigners to understand jp songs. When she streaming singing her streams (called Night Fever) are extremely long (8+ hours). She is comfy streamer. And also she can rap (there even some raps on her channel and some on clippers channel (cut from the stream)). In an early time she also get very popular by some memes. There is a lot that can be said about her...
I once again recommend Hologram circus by Omaru Polka
Also polka did her own version of first take on her channel
The thing that makes hololive original songs amazing is that it came from the heart. Towa's Pallette, Suisei's Ghost, Calli's End of a Life, Watame's My Song, Haachama's Infinity, etc. These songs show real emotion.
Thank you so much for checking out Watame! Your first impression of Watame gave me a re-experience of my first impression of her MV, too. If you're looking for another song of hers to check out, I'll echo some recommendations here for Everlasting Soul as well.
The amount of personal expenses each of these creators put out to make the best possible amv/mv is very commendable. Their agencies only can cover so much of the spending, so seeing such high quality videos is such a gift to their viewers!!!
To give some helpfulll cheats for japanese pronounciations again, a rule of thumb is that an "E" is pronounced "eh" and A becomes "Ah" instead of "Ayy" 🙂
Watame is another one of our wholesome cinnemon rolls in Hololive. She's very sweet and has a big heart but also sadly has had a lot self doubt and self worth issues in the past which had her depressed quite a few times. After joining Hololive and meeting her genmates things started to get better for her (fun fact the flowers in the video have the colours of her mates) and she finally started to get recognition for her talents.
She was good friends with former member Kiryu Coco (which deserves it's own deep dive video experience) and is currently good friends with Calli and already did multiple songs with her in both english and japanese notably Reaper vs Sheep which has two versions of the song on both of their channels, worth checking out 😉
As for another new recommendation this time I will say the cover of FLOS by Nekomata Okayu 👍
I'd love for Luke to react to Watame's Happy Birthday letter to Coco, which occurred shortly before her "graduation." It's an amazing video.
"Reality is a beautiful and cruel mistress."
That hits way too hard.
Thank you for reacting and introducing Watame to your viewers. Hope to see you on Watame's live stream in the future
P.s. I am also so very happy to see so many overhseep in the comment section. My greetings to all watamates out there...
Hololive put in a lot of thought when naming their talents: "Tsunomaki" means "curled horns", befitting her character as a sheep, and "Watame" is a play on "wata-ame" that means "candy floss". She's one of the talents with the most dedicated followings at Hololive for so many reasons. An unusual point about her voice: she uses the same voice for talking and singing, which can be a self-imposed limit, but she still excels in a variety of music from sweet little ballads, through rap, and deep into rock.
Watame had a lot of practice in singing: while almost too deep into the secret knowledge area, she had released songs for almost ten years before making her debut at Hololive, that tremendous body of work must have helped her to become a member of what is, to my mind, the strongest generation yet.
Since you liked Watame, one song I really enjoy from her is her song "Cloudy Sheep" with Calli. It's a song I always come back to after some time.
"I love her. I love her, she is amazing".
I felt a great disturbance in the Force. As if millions of watamates cried out in approval.
Hololive truly is the talent Singularity, so many different kinds of talented people gathered under COVER's banner. Now I honestly can't pick a single artist or song to recommend, so here's a short list (They're all from Hololive except for the last one):
1. Amane Kanata is an incredibly talented singer you haven't reacted to yet, one of my personal favourites in Hololive. Her cover of a duet song called _獣ゆく細道_ (The Narrow Way) is what threw me into the Hololive music rabbit hole in the first place, so I heavily recommend it. *She sang both voices for the duet and it sounds AMAZING.*
2. My favourite original from Towa is a song called _FACT_
3. Moona released a new original song called _Perisai Jitu_
4. _Birds of Time_ is a breathtakingly beautiful song by Enna Alouette that I never tire from listening to.
I guess that's enough for now... Great video as always, love to see you enjoy this rabbit hole as much as we do!
i really like Irys voice, and i think you would like it to! shes the Project Hope from Hololive English, every one of her songs are bangers and her voice is pretty much my favorite from all Hololive members. i can recomend "Here Comes Hope" and "Till the end of me"
Watame doesn't consider herself to be talented, but she has struggled for a long time with her hard work to get where she is now. She talks about it a lot and she's very grateful to her fans. It takes a lot of strength to keep going despite doubts in yourself. I can only say she's really amazing. Also check out her Everlasting Soul original song! It's rock and done with the Myth and Roid guys.
About vtubers in the first take, jofi! made an edit of Risu singing Gunjou in the first take and is both funny to see her avatar in there and impresing since her voice is really good for an acapella karaoke stream (where her singing track comes from).
I highly recommend "Alice & U" from Risu, since we are reacting to really personal songs from all of them.
I always tear up every time I'm listening to this song.
There's something about this song and Watame's voice that touches the heart.
The videos and songs are funded by the Hololive girls themselves. The girls are primarily streamers but they all focus on different things. Some focus on games, some focus on chatting, and others focus on music. Watame in particular gives her music everything she has and works incredibly hard to connect with her fans. Her personality is also as soft and fluffy as a sheep and is a joy to listen to.
Another hololive song with an equally good animated MV is Houshou Marine's "Marine Set Sail". Which is excellent
Also Tokino Sora (the very first hololive member, the OG) did post a "First Take" video of her song "Suki, naichaisoda"
"Marine Set Sail" might be the most constantly animated MV in all of Hololive. It's so fun to watch while you're listening to Marine's terrific voice.
Yes, pretty much all of Hololive will do live performances in front of live audiences using a combination of 3d hologram projection and screen projection with the talents in mocap either behind/near the stage or networked in from a remote studio. The preference is for them to be there live to prevent transmission delays but it doesn't always work out that way.
Those live shows also sell digital tickets so you can watch in real time or rebroadcast at a later date. Usually, after a time the performance will be available on their TH-cam channel. You can go watch some if you wish.
Thanks for checking our favorite sheep bard Watame .
Well since it is called "My Song", yeah it's a very personal song. Long story short, she had her fair deal of hassle but she couldn't let her dream go unfinished so she kept moving forward until she arrived at Hololive as part of the Japanese 4th Generation (alongside Towa).
I must say, the management made the best choice giving her a Sheep avatar, it fits her personality so well, she's so fluffy, even her name Watame is a Japanese pun meaning "Cotton Candy".
She has so many great songs, in so many genre.
Also, if you want to check, Hololive talents do have 2 kinds of concert:
-3D Live ( that are totally free on TH-cam, taking full advantage of the technology, we still can't believe it's free but it is)
-Concert (Performance in front of a Live public, these are more sparse and you need to pay to watch it live or on stream/blu-ray )
She is an artist, yes, but she is a streamer as well
Most of the Hololive talents can be classified like this
Most sing, most of them are multitalented, but the main body of work is still streaming, since they do it so often!
They do live concerts and sing in some streams too! Watame has the "Watameh night fever" streams where she sings and sometimes dances in 3D! And its so good the vibes, the energy and the music! She is wonderful, her story is amazing, and I'm so happy this showed up in my feed today!
If you want to see a fully animated, action-packed Hololive "movie" MV, Houshou Marine's "Set Sail" is one you should look at. It's similar to an OP for One Piece.
Thank you so much for taking your time to listen to this song!
Was really happy you've checked out our best sheep Watame
Risu ALiCE&U, AZKi Inochi or "from A to Z", Irys "here comes hope"
also since you keep bringing it up ALL of these holo girls are vtubers some who make their own music with collabs from other artist
last Utsu-P (since you went down the vocaloid rabbit hole and if you enjoy metal youll enjoy his songs, also has a band which you can check the channel tab in his YT page)
Luke, great reaction as usual. I've never heard of Watame before now thanks for introducing her. She seems like a fun vtuber. Ironmouse is definitely my favorite non-Hololive vtuber (she's with rival agency VShjo). She has the voice of an angel.
As for Japanese artists who I keep forgetting to mention (who all also do anime songs) that are standouts .. ASCA, Akira (lead singer of Dis-a-code) and Yosh (of Survive Said the Prophet) are great. There are also a pair of western artists who have done amazing anime EDs; Marty Friedman (formerly of Megadeth) did the ending for B: The Beginning with a different version with a different vocalist for the 2nd season (John Ken-Kenny of Man om a Mission and newcomer Alfakyun, respectively) . John Sykes (of Tygers of Pan Tang/Thin Lizzy/Whitesnake/Blue Murder) did the ending for Black Heaven. Both are fantastic tunes as well.
Yeah Watame is a lot of fun. 17 original songs, barely blameless series of videos and some things that are basically travel vlogs - all English subbed and on top of all her regular streaming.
Watame has done a rather long series of very short videos titled "Watame did borderline nothing wrong," and they're pretty funny. It started early in her streaming career when her internet connection kept dropping during a program, and her friend Kiryu Coco recommended that she turn it into a meme. She sincerely apologizes to everyone for what happened, but then turns smug and says, "It wasn't MY fault, was it? I can't help it if my crappy internet provider is so terrible...RIGHT? RIGHT?"
Watame seriously felt terrible about it, and it depressed her, but Coco really came to her rescue and helped turn the proverbial lemons into lemonade. And, it added another dimension to her character--one that is sort of humorously goofy.
Glad you liked it so much! It felt like I was watching the MV for the first time again alongside you, gave me chills.
What I love is that Watame considers these MVs as her quite literally giving back from all the support her viewers have given her, since they were paid for with proceeds from her merch and such, so the high quality/budget of this MV really speaks to how thankful she is for her fans and how she really wants to give them her best.
Watame is a nice sheep that deserves all the love
Her voice crack gets me every time.
Watame is one of the most prolific singers in Hololive and she covers a lot of different genres. She puts so much of her in her music, it's very inspiring especially when you know everything she's been through (as a vtuber but as a person too). She's in a much better mental space now thanks to her friends around her and the Watamates. Still has a long way to go for the Budokan, but a lot of us are happy to walk where her dreams take her.
She is such a wholesome and heartwarming sheep, and probably the Hololive member that makes me tear up the most (in a good way). Even if you don't understand anything, you really can feel her energy on an emotional level. And also one of my favorites musically.
I really recommend Watame's song, Mayday, Mayday. Banger rock song.
Marine's song "Marine Set Sail" is another good example of high quality video. She commented on how much money the project was eating though(which she was fine with cuz she wanted it done right), so that's why you don't see a lot of higher quality animated videos, they cost a lot.
There might not be a more "active" Hololive MV than "Marine Set Sail!" Characters in it are constantly moving.
Yeah they're insanely expensive. Doing something at this level is a once a year or two kind of project. I can only encourage people to toss these kinds of things on their playlist.
Something you may be interested in; Watame covered Hollow Hunger (from Overlord) back in September.
Congrats on finally discovering the sweet, fluffy and wholesome sheep of Hololive. Her voice is amazing, and she does have quite a large selection of songs (both originals and covers) for you to choose from for next time.
Watame is a frequent collaborator with Calli, she was featured for 2 songs during Calli's recent live concert, and they have made 3 songs together: "Cloudy Sheep", and the 2 "Reaper vs. Sheep" songs. Don't let the names confuse you, there are actually 2 totally different songs called "Reaper vs. Sheep" (one on Calli's channel and the other on Watame's), they share the same track but have totally different lyrics. I'd recommend you check out all 3 songs personally, but really anything by Watame is great, as you heard, she has a gorgeous voice.
Recommendations:
"A Million Miles Away" by Hakos Baelz (get tissues ready before listening)
"Alice&U" by Ayunda Risu (this one is sung in 3 languages and really shows off Risu's amazing vocal range)
"Hinotori" by Takanashi Kiara (This is Kiara's first original song, much like Calli's RIP it was an intro to Kiara).
"Saga Jihen" by Hoshimachi Suisei and the entire 3rd generation of Hololive JP (which includes Marine, whom you already know).
"PekoMiko Daisensou" (aka "PekoMiko Great War") by Usada Pekora and Sakura Miko (This is a song they made about a grand "war" they had in a game, and it's super catchy, you'll find yourself humming it for days!)
Watame is probably my favorite vtuber. Her singing is amazing, her rap is amazing, she’s so comforting and emotional, and she also has a great sense of humor. She’s got something for everyone and aces it. If you wanna get an idea of her comedy try watching some of the “watame did borderline nothing wrong” shorts.
Fun fact:
She can sing almost all her original and cover songs the same level as the MV, that show how little tune she did to her MV. She just that great at singing.
The only thing she weak at in singing is changing her voice, she pretty much can only sing in her fluffy voice but she cam sing every type of songs: rock, jazz, rap, opera etc. She can sing anything
Of all the next holomem it was Watame, our fluffy sheep. How interesting.
Should react to her famous song covers Balalaika, her rap song, and lullaby song.
Nice to see you reacting so well to Watame. Watame is one who I feel that her music is a little underappreciated even though she has released quite a few nice originals and covers.
For recommendations, I want to throw out an older song. AZKi's 8th original song, Inochi.
There is also a video of a live duet version of that song that was clipped from Suisei's 3D Live by Fanfare Ch。 that you could react to as well
She really is one of the most underrated ones, her songs are so beautiful and she can go from pop to rock to rap to slow paced, and she is also so sweet and entertaining, I really hope you get to see her other serious songs/covers as well as her more funny ones.
watame is joy, watame is love.
Watame and Calli did a collaboration song called reaper vs sheep if you are interested, technically two because there is two versions and they are very different
I always enjoy watching someone fall down the rabbit hole! Hololive is overflowing with amazing talents. You can't really go wrong with any of them.
For an energetic Vtuber from Hololive
You really should check Omaru Polka, she have two amazing options to hear, one with amazing animation and another one so energetic and happy that is Hologram circus
Going from Everblue to something like SAIKYOUTICPOLKA is such a whiplash. lol
Another interesting group from THE FIRST TAKE is ZUTOMAYO.
Zutto Mayonaka de Iinoni., stylized as ZUTOMAYO, is a Japanese rock group that debuted in 2018. Secretive by nature, the group has never released a full member list, crediting different people for music, arrangements, and music video production each time.
I recommend:
1. ZUTOMAYO - Byoushinwo Kamu / THE FIRST TAKE
2. ZUTOMAYO - Can’t Be Right / THE FIRST TAKE
Yeah Watame has a great voice and her spent in covers is just huge, that video must have cost her so much money man xd and she has like 3 with that level of animation.
Watame is a hololive jp vtuber, in fact she's from the same 4th generation as Towa. She's a really fun content maker who's a good vocalist and rapper. 4th gen has a group song that's pretty much a goodbye to their genmate who graduated: Kiryu Coco. If you like Watame and Towa, listen to it. It's written by Kanata, another member of the 4th gen.
I recommend you to listen to "Here comes Hope" by Irys. It's really reminiscent of a Myth & Roid song. If you want another animated MV from hololive, check out Irys': "Caesura of Despair".
I totally agree that Watame has this singing voice and style that just reminds you of LiSA and similar artists. If I remember correctly, I think Watame even cited LiSA as one of her big musical inspirations.
Also, for a recommendation, I think you'll love 曇天羊 (Cloudy Sheep) by Watame feat. Calliope. Another high-energy Watame song like this one, complimented by Calli's unique rap.
Watame is a singer with an immense amount of passion. She also likes to jump around genres.
Also regarding the first take bit, technically there's a male branch of Hololive called Holostars, and they did a very similar thing to The First Take. The name of the Vtuber is Rikka. If you want to react to it, I suggest the first one where he sang I LOVE... (The Rikka Tone).
This is what exactly SINGING FORM SOUL
The song is just about herself ,that’s why the song name is My Song
And the lyrics is so touching ,giving so much power to those people who being in tough life and mental health issues
In fact ,she had saved lot of lifes, there was some of her fans want to give up their life and leave this world ,and they get hope after watching Watame stream, they send super chat to talk about their tough situation ,and Watame just cry out and sharing her experience in tough life ,and giving the hope and positive attitude to these people to face the tough
This sheep warm everybody heart
"This is professional level music"
Well.. Cover Corp is a -idol- cutting edge entertainment company after all
Watameeeee 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Lovely soft sheep!
Her life story and how much she fights to give us the best is amazing, I respect her so much
I too love this sheep. Watame is def one of my fav singing voices. I also love it when she raps lol.
Watame has an amazing voice and this song is one of my favorite songs along with Towa's Palette and IRyS Till the End of Me which I highly recommend, these songs never fail to inspire me and also bring tears to my eyes, I would also recommend our goddess Tokino Sora, the first hololive member, and for her I would recommend either Alien, or Kono Sekai De. AZKi is also another recommendation with her Inochi, and if you want she has a collab with Towa which you saw on your palette video or her collab with Suisei called The Last Frontier.
For mor Watame, Everlasting Soul and Melody for You are a good choice though all of her songs are amazing.
Love the video as always, I enjoy your hololive reactions a lot and can't wait to see more.
Watame and Calli have a rap song together, you may want to react on that too. The song was "Reaper vs. Sheep".
Watame is truly amazing. I don't think I've ever come across a more wholesome girl than her. She's an insanely talented vocalist, as you've heard. She puts so much into her music, releasing original songs/covers fairly regularly, gets MVs produced for all her songs (which she bears most of the cost for directly), and has even had live shows and concerts that's she's performed at. AND she's an incredibly bubbly and fun streamer. I can't sing enough praise about her. She deserves the world through her music. Would absolutely recommend you should check out all of her songs and she's done two with Calli called Cloudy Sheep and Reaper vs Sheep (the latter has two versions where they swap between English and Japanese).
Watame songs are all so good. She released so much MV last year and this year too, my fav of them have got to be Everlasting Soul.
But if you're looking for some more Hololive Artist, I'd recommend IRyS since she actually debuted under the label v-singer. Till the end of me / IRyS is my fav of hers
Watame has A LOT of other song too, she has a full album of original songs and more than 20 cover songs on her channel, so you have much to catch up on!
big love for watame
Glad you enjoyed Watame! She has some songs with Calli as well. There's the more recent Reaper vs Sheep, with two different versions. The Ouen version Has Calli doing more english, but I don't see as many reactions to the Kenko Version on Watame's channel, which has Watame rapping in english and it's really cute. I like both versions, maybe a double feature? Looking forward to what you decide to do next!
the part at 6:03 when she did the "I'm in the verge of tears" type of singing hits different
When she first sung this live at her solo concert she sounded close to crying for a big chunk of the song. She was really gripped by emotion. The concerts really are an incredible experience.
I've always liked Watame's song Everlasting Soul. So I recommend that.
In terms of music, my favorites on hololive are watame, okayu and polka... nothing against the others but these 3 work best for me
It's not an original but i really recommend checking out the cover of yona yona dance that okayu did
My Recommendations: Mayday Mayday by Watame, Berserker by IRyS, My Roar by Towa
She is a very good singer. I found her by looking for vtubers singing Super Sentai opening.
Nice! Love Watame.
About your confusion over her not having Hololive in her channel name-it is curious. I think they might have all used to, but at the moment, only one of the JP members, Aki, does have Hololive in her channel name, though it’s written in Japanese as ホロライブ. Not sure when this changed. Hololive ID and EN members on the other hand do all have Hololive after their names still, so it’s just JP.
Oh and, for Watame recs, my personal fav from her is Mayday, Mayday. Dreaming Sheep is also really fun though.
Watame is such an amazing person, and this song captures it perfectly. I'm so glad you were able to give it a reaction. I wont create another wall of text about her since it looks like other commenters got that covered.
Sorry for the massive wall of text in advance, these are only just some songs I recommend, but you surely wouldn't be able to react to all of even these, let alone all hololive somgs, so I figured I'd just post them anyway and see how it is received/reviewed.
Other songs I'd recommend from Watame are Ode to an Eternal Future or Melody For You.
Other songs from artists you have reacted to:
Yona Yona Journey or Scuffed Up Age (Calliope originals)
Stellar Stellar or Next Color Planet (Suisei originals)
Fact, My Roar, born to be real, or Akuma (Towa originals)
Ai no Chiisana Uta (Moona original) or Gekkou (Moona cover)
From Hololive artists you haven't reacted to yet:
Howling (Ookami Mio original) or Sparkle (Mio cover)
Mogu Mogu Yummy (Nekomata Okayu original) or Flos (Okayu cover)
Aqua iro Palette (Minato Aqua original) or Asu no Yozora (Aqua/Suisei/Towa cover)
Say! Fanfare! or Kingworld (Shirakami Fubuki originals)
Wonder Ladder (Amane Kanata original) or Uma to Shika (Kanata cover)
Kataomoi or Hakujitsu (Natsuiro Matsuri covers)
Nenenene daibakusou or Lunch with Me (Momosuzu Nene originals)
Here Comes Hope or Gravity (Irys originals)
Play Dice (Hakos Baelz original) or Hontou no Oto (Bae cover)
Sparks or Do U (Takanashi Kiara originals)
A New Start (Nanashi Mumei original)
Weather Hackers (Kiryu Coco original)
Alice&U (Ayunda Risu original)
Astrogirl (Tsukumo Sana original)
Kiseki Knot (original song from a group of hololive members that debut together)
Shiny Smily Story (hololive anthem, pretty much THE hololive song)
And honestly, it would be great if you could check out Tokino Sora or AZKi, but they both have a massive abundance of songs, both original and covers, so I'll leave those recommendations to other commenters.
now you already know towa and watame and liked both, so again i want to recommend "Kiseki Knot" a collaboration song of the Hololive jp 4th Gen (Kiryu Coco, Amane Kanata, Tsunomaki Watame, Tokoyami Towa and Himemori Luna)
Since many people in the comments have already described what kind of person Watame is, I'll just drop some facts that Hololive fans agree with when it comes to Tsunomaki Watame, the Sheep girl of Hololive JP.
1. Despite the incredible voices from Hololive like Suisei, Moona, Gura and Risu. Watame is the one that will likely get a chance to sing for an official anime OP/ED in the near future. Her voice like you mentioned, has similar vibes to Minami, LiSA and Aimer. Which makes sense because LiSA is her inspiration.
2. " My Song " is currently one of the original songs on her channel where we got to hear the voice of the person behind the character. She sang it in a genre that was anime OP material and it shocked everyone with how professional it sounded.
3. Lastly, Watame falls into the same category as Talents like Moona and Risu, because they all have two versions/personas that embody their names.
Ex: MOONA is the cute, adorkable side, but when she goes into DIVA mode and sings professionally, people will meme it by calling her HOSHINOVA.
So in Watame's case, Watame is the sheep girl persona where she is a ball of sunshine with a sprinkle of mischievous. Then when she sings like in this song, we call that TSUNOMAKI.
Watame is actually so sweet , she blame herself if she took time to release her album. Ngl, she one of the most hardworking individual in Hololive and all of them is talented and hardworking in their way.
We know what for next, its Calli x Watame. Also do note theres a 2 versions.
Love this song and her streams are very comfy even though I barely know Japanese, you just get that aura from her.
More Hololive, if it's not on your list already - Ayunda Risu's 'Alice&U', Suisei's 'Stellar Stellar' and Calli's 'Red'.
Watame is amazing. Period. I think a really good next reaction would be Hololive Alternative's teasers. Both are short and is very useful to get to know Hololive's talents at least their appearence (Both are shorter than 2 min)
Thank you for picking up this song.
This song not only sounds good but also has good lyrics. The sound and lyrics match very well.
Tears come out when I listen to the song while chewing the lyrics.
I later learned that Watame had a complicated home environment.
This is my personal interpretation, but I feel that Watame herself has a negative feeling, and that's what makes this song persuasive.
If you see Watame open up her eyes fully in the "Watame Night Fever", it's time for overdo with some funny song.
they already do live concerts with very impressive AR tech..soon they will have 4th festival that will be livestreamed (or you can buy tickets and go to concert live) tickets for streaming and for live venue already selling...also (hololive recommendation) Takanashi Kiara-SPARKS,DO U,Night Fever,HINOTORI,Heart Challenger (all original songs) 4BLOOD,Ai kotoba III (with gura), Goodbye declaration,WAH WAH World (with calliope) (covers)...she has many more :)
Oh, for real, Watame is my absolute favorite.
It would be great if you could check out another song of hers called "Everlasting Soul"!
Mu Song is undoubtedly one of my favorite Watame songs. But I'd have to say that my absolute favorite of hers is the song Ai Mai Chocolate. Not only was it the first song I've heard from her, it has a nice fluffy feel to it, which is a feeling that can describe Watame as a whole
I'd recommend Hoshimachi Suisei. She's one of the first Hololive members and started as an independent vtuber. She's a great singer and has a very different demeanor compared to our comfy sheep.
Watame is my absolute favorite Hololive performer. She has incredibly comfy streams and does regular karaoke streams (Watame night fever) and chats with her fans. She did a live solo concert last year and was a performer at Hololive Expo back in March.
Love the song and the video. That animation was really good.
Also, still waiting on that reaction to the song Departures by Egoist.
Let's go Watamates!!!
Personally Watame is my fav out of all of the hololive girls. Her voice and personality is beautiful and colourful. I've been following hololive since gen 2's debut. I like all of them but Watame is way up there.
My recommendation: Hated by life itself (Personally I like mafumafu ver) [might be a bit dark]
Watame is a fantastic singer, as well as one of Hololive's comfiest streamers. For a song rec, putting in mine for Nekomata Okayu's (of Hololive Gamers) cover of Flos.
Yes Watame is awesome. There is a lot of great singers in hololive but she definitely stand out for me.
She also did an original song with Tom Hack who is the guy behind Myth & Roid. You should check that out since you like Myth & Roid as well. She also did an original song with Calli as well, almost forgot about that. You might like that as well.
Yes! He reacted to Watame as well! Another one of my favorite artist, singer, and VTuber from Hololive.
So for some information about her, she is a sheep girl who debuted around the same time as Tokoyami Towa. They're in the same generation, which is the 4th generation of the Japan branch.
Hope that you can react to more of songs! Her other songs that I love are 'Aimai Chocolate' and 'Rainbow'.
Yep, Watame is a part of Hololive's 4th generation, along with Towa, Amane Kanata, Himemori Luna, and formerly Kiryu Coco.
Kanata has put out a few songs, most notably Tenshi no Agape for originals and her most popular cover that put her on notice was Ghost Rule.
Kanata is also the lyricist/composer for 4th gens song written at the time of Coco's going away Kiseki knot.
Coco, at the time of her going away put out the song Weather Hackers☆ which is alot of fun
This sheep is something else isn't she. Her passion for singing is not smaller than anyone else. Her karaoke streams are more like mini concerts. More recommended Hololive songs/covers.
