Jan. 22, 2019---Thanks for the video. I live in a '74 single wide trailer, moving into it around 1984? Since then, there's been 10 cats/kittens who loved digging their claws into the linoleum. Then add one dog who had 9 puppies which liked chewing on the linoleum the cats had worked on earlier. Finally got down to 3 dogs...my original and 2 of her pups. When they passed on, ended up with another dog, something I didn't expect to happen. Ever. So linoleum is a bit tore up in spots and of course, extremely well worn. Since I'm on Social Security, will be replacing everything bit by bit along with new paneling, insulation and sealing windows. I thought doing the linoleum would be hard, but not after seeing your video. Thanks again.

here in California most homes made after 1987 have a cement floor that the lanoleum is glue too so the staples can't be used (i think) how you video gave me good ideas so thank you sir
yep, slab homes you need to cut all the loose parts out, mud with a hardrock mud product to create a smooth floor then go over. You will spend tons of time trying to scrap up all the old vinyl. Which you will need to mud the whole area again to make a smooth and even floor anyway.
Thank you for such an informative video! I do have a question. We are looking at installing vinyl flooring in a large room where we will have a seam. We've laid vinyl flooring before, but the seam part is making us a little nervous, and unfortunately, we can't find any manufacturer's recommendations for installation. Do you have any suggestions for the installation of it, in regards to gluing down versus leaving it as a floating floor (going off memory, I think that's what the sales guy suggested, and just not so sure how comfortable we feel about that), and also for the seam? Never done the seaming before. Here is the description for the flooring we have: Comfort Foam double encapsulated fiberglass structure provides strength and dimensional stability. Modified loose-lay installation option, offers easy-in, easy-out flexibility. 105 gauge with 10 mil wear layer. Super Guard Urethane finish for stain protection and easy cleaning. Recommended full spread with releasable adhesive.

You can do a floating vinyl floor and either staple or glue the edges, but it needs to be a heavy vinyl that will lay down flat and not bubble up. Also, sometimes the vinyl you lay can shrink or contract, and if you trim it too much then it will be short on your walls.

You don't need to glue vinyl flooring at all.. and if you ever get bubbles from moving stuff arround you give your vinyl some space to move back in position.. use glue for edges or when u come up short, to glue the sides on eachother. -saving you some money-
