      The more years I have in the rear view mirror, the more I like the "Court of the Crimson King" album. It was a moment in time that still holds up today! BTW, my bass player (Hardie McGehee) taught me that in HS gym class on the piano that was at the edge of the basketball court.

    The SynthTribe app for mac or PC is your friend here :) The app can also change these settings and also assign midi channel and has a calibration function

      Agreed. I should have mentioned that in the video. The main reason I did this video was that I had difficulty understanding the documentation.

    Very timely video! I just got one of these and am trying some experiments now. So if I understand it is like the duo nice ob the B2600? Dump question, the the separate trigger outs then. Maybe so you can do s-trig and v-trig and not really discrete. Do other cv to midi converters have true polyphony (eg Doepher - Befaco ) for example? This is a terrific series! Thanks.

      Thanks Tony. r.e. other CV converters, honestly, I've never see a duophonic keyboard work the way a split (or polyphonic) keyboard would (with independent gates/triggers). This includes the ARP implementations that predate MIDI.

      I just read what I wrote OZ and it is not very clear! I should read things over before posting. Sorry.....What I was trying to say was, The CM1A implementation is like the duo mode on the Arp 2600 rather than a discreet dual mono mode. Then I was wondering why they configured the module with 2 cv and trigger outs and it must be so you can do s-trig and v-trig at the same time. Hope that makes more sense@@ozhalljr

    I have an electron sampler.
    and in the module I installed a divider, that is, my mdi to cv could give the tempo to the entire modular...
    connecting the OUT output of the electron to the IN output of the mdi and then using a cv to connect it to the divider and from the divider I go out to the other modules
    so that it gives the electron clock and thus everything works on time, right?

    • @ozhalljr

      I think so. Have you tried it? I'm not sure what you mean by "in the module I installled a divider". Did you add a divider module to the System 55?

    • @No.Name.9-z1l

      My simplest question is... with this module I can connect an Electron sampler and use it as a clock in my modular
      Or is this module simply a CV for notes?

      @@No.Name.9-z1lyou could use the CM1A gate out as a clock . But it would not be the MIDI clock. You would have to send a sequence. The gate/trigger of the sequence would be the clock.

    Hello Mister, thank you very much for your video. I need your help to configure the elektron analog rhytm mk2 to synchronize the tempo of the 960 sequential behringer eurorack. Let me explain, I want the master tempo of the elektron so I use the elektron midi output to the CM1A cv midi convert midi input. On the CM1A, a plug trig cable to shift the 960 sequencer but it doesn't work... My sequence on the 960 sequencer doesn't change when I move the tempo on the Elektron. Thanks in advance

    • @ozhalljr
      @ozhalljr  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The CM1A will not convert a MIDI clock into a trigger. You would have to have a sequence of notes sent via MIDI (the rytm should be able to do that) and use the trigger output as a clock. Also, to do this you would have to configure at least one of the trigger outputs as a V-trigger. An S-trigger will not "shift" the sequence (unless you convert it to a V-trigger via the 961 Interface module.

      @@ozhalljr Thanks for your answer! So if I understood correctly on the analog rhytm side I only connect a midi OUT cable to midi IN of the CM1A. A jack cable from the CM1A trig to S-TRIG IN of the 961 interface. Then a jack cable from the V-Trig OUT interface to the shift 960 sequencer?

    • @ozhalljr
      @ozhalljr  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ValentinSalomon-n7w Exactly! Be sure you have the CM1A trigger type set up to "both". The tempo will be the tempo (1/4 note seq. 1/8 note seq, etc) of whatever sequence you are playing on the Rytm on channel 1 (or whatever channel to which your CM1A is configured ). Let me know if you encounter any glitches.

      @@ozhalljr Update: I managed to modify the tempo of the 960 sequencer via the elektron! In fact I now pass a midi IN cm1a cable to midi OUT of the arturia keystep and from the midi in of the midi keystep to the midi OUT of the elektron but I do not go through the S-TRIG to V-TRIG interface. My sequence on the 960 sequencer is not well synchronized with the elektron, I really have the impression that it is shifting. I will see if I can improve the synchronization by modifying some parameters of the keystep (Seq / Time Div / Rate). Maybe my midi chain is too long to synchronize a modular sequencer. Thank you for your help

    • @ozhalljr
      @ozhalljr  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good progress. If you have the keystep, try the keystep sync out to 960 Shift In to drive the sequencer.

    Excellent videos. I have amassed a few Behringer analog synths and just got the 960 sequencer + 962. Can the CM1A be used to receive MIDI Clock from a DAW, and sync the 960 to the MIDI clock from the DAW? If it can, what would the connections from the CM1A to the 960 be? I'm just beginning to enter this world and I have not found a video that clearly answers my question. Thank you in advance.

    Hi, very useful video!, thanks. can you tell me if it is possible via SynthTribe to configure idependent MIDI ch. for each CV/Trig. ?

    • @ozhalljr
      @ozhalljr  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. With CM1A firmware version 1.0.0, the only functions that are available to change via Synthtribe are:
      Midi Channel
      Pitchbend Range
      Mono/Duo (as explained in the video)
      CV Range (as explained in the video)
      That would be a cool feature though.

    • @ozhalljr
      @ozhalljr  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I understand the question, you have your PC connected via USB cable to the CM1A MIDI to CV interface. If that connection is good, you should be able to see the CM1A in the list if MIDI interfaces w/in your DAW. Can you see it?
      Assuming that you can, you will need to configure your DAW to do the following:
      1) output some MIDI note information to the CM1A
      2) the MIDI notes must be transmitted on the same MIDI Channel. ( What MIDI channel is your CM1A configure to listen on? )
      3) you must connect the CV output to the Oscillator(s) that you're using (if you monitor the direct VCO output (w/o VCF or VCA) does the pitch change as the DAW transmits the notes?)
      4) you must connect the Gate (trigger) output to one (or more) Envelope generators. (is the CM1A configured for s-trigger output? (vs v-trigger outputs) )? )
      With regard to configuring the CM1A, there is a utility provided by Behringer for this module. Be sure to install it to confirm the MIDI channel and the type of trigger output (s-trig or v-trig).
      This is not an exhaustive list, but it does give you some critical links to check.
      Let me know what the issue turns out to be.
