Great idea on using thin fire - i have always just used the fiber paper - I will be trying this I do use the precut fiber 1/8 inch thick - came on a roll - love using that!

If your shelf is primed it shouldn't make a difference but you certainly can put it under the mold for more protection

I used a casting mold for my hearts and used frit. They are filled with bubbles! Is there a way to refire them to reduce the bubbles?

The larger the frit the fewer the bubbles, maybe try a different frit size?

Why didn't you pour the fine frit from the pad into the mold? Couldn't you still use that frit?

Yes, I could have still used it but I was trying to make a specific effect with the different colors and when I pulled it up they all mixed together lol

    Overhead shots would work better
