Even after so many years, I am still terrified of the obelisk of light charging up sound effect.
wow; I did not think to beat this mission in this manner. Instead, I went crazy restarting this over and over and over going for the bottom left corner base first, and barely surviving by the skin of my teeth every time they did a combined air strike + ground assault
The intented way for NOD 11A and 11B is ridiculous and even more on hard difficulty. The best way to beat the AI is always by sneaking engineers and taking over the main buildings first (in most missions). The gameplay is completely different in Red Alert, standard attack with units and tanks is the meta.
@@THEZOD Which game do you prefer in terms of gameplay: TD or RA? Is RA the same when it comes to AI producing units indefinitely as long as you don't stop that by destroying/blocking their harvesters or capturing key buildings? I intend to beat TD campaign on hard first (mostly thanks to your videos) before I move to RA. Also is RA hard mode as difficult as TD? Thanks for you answers if you find the time to reply ^^
@@itrogo I prefer Red Alert gameplay, the pace is much faster and less buggy. Overall, Red Alert is much easier than Tiberian Dawn, you will see.
Really great strategy for this mission! I tried it on my own this way and it was quite easy I must say 😃.
The hardest thing was to destroy the troops on the other river side, because I screwed up and I lost my last troops against the Mammut... So I had to kill it with some Orcas 🙈

BTW, did you play the classic C&C back in the 90's?
Capturing silos is also the best way to cripple your opponent ! I played the game back then when I was a kid, the game was way too hard for me. I gave up and switched to Red Alert :P.
@@THEZOD Exactly.
Silos are one of the main ways the campaign AI scales, cause each harvester that comes in maxes out their tiberium. Aka the more silos the AI has, the more troops it produces.
For the same reason capturing a full AI silo is a great deal for us players.
This can be abused HARD: capture silo => sell it, wait for a new AI silo to be build => repeat = profit.
@@THEZOD Back when we were kids (around 10 or 11), we got stuck at this very mission. We always either got slaughtered by the Mammoth tank or we would take too much time clearing the south and then got massacred by the airstrike or even the gunboat. We tried GDI and after quite a bit of struggle around the missions when our funding gets cut, we got stuck at the mission where you have only 6 grenadiers and a MCV that do a landing facing a lot of turrets. We never were able to progress much further. Even with using the sandbag trick, we would get sieged and we would never be able to get out. That game was so hard! I only succeed beating it much later when I was close to adulthood.
That GDI mammoth tank in the beginning was so dumb
Indeed, the tank will target the first unit in it's sight until it dies or too far. It's a very useful micro when you play on hard difficulty :P.
Not bad... but you could have just done the thing at the bottom and gotten the crate in the village instead of selling the GDI construction yard. I mean, once you take out the comm center, you're safe anyway.
I wanted to avoid the GDI ship and get money fast to buy tanks. Either way is a good option anyway =)
@@THEZOD Nothing you did made you safer from the gunboat anyway; in fact your south troops at the end only barely avoided it. You could've taken it out with the Obelisk but you targeted the guard towers instead.

Very funny. The moment i capture factory - a plane comes and kill all infantry aiming at sniper first! On top of all, a heavy tank near my base start hunting non stop my sniper, so i hid him in APC and run across the map and 2 planes going after him too.... Later in game there is support across the river, but something killed them all. Few bazookas lived and i used them for scout and killed all whit choppers!
The first airstrike will always target your commando, put your other units as far as possible from him to reduce your losses !
I cannot for the life of me get past this mission even on easy let alone on Hard. failed well over a dozen times before coming to the conclusion I will never get this beat.
At last resort, you can always abuse the save/load system to do it :P
I have tried this mission 15 times on normal and I can NOT beat it. I have watched this video multple times, did step by step that you did, still cant beat it
I tried doing this mission over and over for hours but they always kill my artillery or my sniper with airstrikes. Are those triggered by the GDI command center?
The only way to prevent airstrikes from GDI is to destroy their Communications Center.

I still carry that gene for 11 even though my cells were damaged in this lifetime I still carry 11" karma

I hate this mission because of the airstrike targeting my commando... I can't even succeed to replicate this because of the airstrike so early on.
You have to be quick and capture/destroy the communication center or shut down the power. You can always slow down the game if needed.
You don't need commando to win this mission
This mission is impossible on normal or difficult, i have try it 20 times on both base
If you play it the intended way, yeah it's almost impossible. Your micro need to be on top for this one.
