Love your videos Captain especially of Center City and your walks with Rick the Puppy…I am disabled now and loved walking around Philly and now since I can’t do it anymore, I can see everything through your eyes..Thanks, Captain and keep the videos comin’
WOW; This video bring me lot's of memories, .,. When i was living & Working in Philly ,back in the 80's until 2000; so many stores and Market St , Spruce St., Liberty Bell, Chestnut St, City Hall, and much more,,, Thank you you John Mr. Captain,, for you dedication and history talk,, keep the good work, stay safe as well ,,, I do see, something different in center city,, back day's was more traffic and peoples, walking and outside concerts and dancing , even drinking ,,, Probably ,because the time that you choose to take the videos,. still ,, Philly has lot's of histories to remember no matter what are the stories ,,, the're are always something good to tell to the grand childs,, and family, ,,
Yes ..Up until the pandemic hit.., then things got weird, businesses closed, and crime increased. Hopefully the new Mayor and regime can change things for the better, cause the Kinney administration sucked.
This was the first time I got to see City Hall not have that netting on the ceiling to keep the debris from falling on your head. It's like a different world!
Oh my gosh the captain is magical, he speaks about liking the video and the like button illuminates [around 22:20 ish] . I am blown away, never seen that before.
Hey Philly Captain “Here We Are” in Sydney, Australia - you may recall we met you on June 30 last year @ the Phillies 🎉game with July 4 drone & fireworks show. Loved watching your unedited scoot - you went past our accommodation “the Windsor Suites” and visited the sites we visited on our whistle stop two day visit last year - Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Franklin Park, Reading Terminal such wonderful memories. Thanks so much Philly Captain & Let’s Go Phillies!!🎉🎉🎉
Great video you did around all the best locations, that I always walk past but I have learned so much from your perspective. Now I am going to walk just like you, I go there when I haven't been there in a month. Feel like I am missing something from working there on South Street hanging in clubs and going to school for fashion. Your accent in Philadelphia is very authentic. Toodles!
Nice scoot! Wore my Phillies shirt to the Winston-Salem Dash game last night and talked to two attendants who had lived in Philly. One was telling me about when no buildings were taller than City Hall.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank you Captain. I was born and raised in Philly. Lived there for twenty three years. I now live on the West coast. Miss Philly a lot. Thank you sir.
My Troc list: Slayer, Gwar, Monster Magnet, S.O.D. That was the only place I wouldn't wear any type of jacket or coat, even in the dead of winter. Hottest place on earth.
We probably went to some of the same shows! I saw Gwar there a lot (even got to see DBX upstairs at the Troc), Slayer once, Mercyful Fate, and a ton of other bands. There's a spot on the balcony that pushes out cool air that if you were in that spot, you were the only one not dying from heat exhaustion. I'm happy to say my little band played there once (upstairs).
I was a small kid when the Roundhouse was built. When I was 12 I went on a tour of the place. All I can say is that it was a totally idiotic building, not a straight wall in the place! I say tear it down and build something normal! This turd has been around way too long.
Hey Captain... True of False? I was always told by people that the city can build buildings taller than Billy Penn. But it has to be behind the direction of his gaze. So taller buildings are always "behind" Billy Penn.

R.I.P. Trocedero! I can relive my youth though your vids. I'll visit Philly again someday.

It was a gentleman’s agreement not to build buildings higher than the brim of William Penn,s hat… so Billy Penn could always look over his city…

Yes, we moved away from Philly, and always knew to return which we did last week. The Philly vibe is the most unique in the world.😊

No, they're out in Bala Cynwd., right outside the City Have been, for a long while now.
City Hall is absolutely Gorgeous!!
"...Not that anyone wants to go to new jersey.." So not only do we New Yorkers trash on NJ, but even Philadelphians do it too 😂

That could be true. I've never heard of that rule before.
