I have a little LXS, and it's a fantastic little car! It has great features, it's very comfortable, extremely practical, good on fuel and not the worst when it comes to performance. Unfortunately, mine was broken into (you can probably guess why), and I ended up with a Corolla for 2 weeks. The Corolla is great, but I just missed my little Forte. Not to mention I felt the Corolla was a little bit louder and the insulation wasn't as good. Also it took a second every tike you hit the gas and would take ages to accelerate. Fortunately, I have been reunited with my Forte and all is well 😊

Oh wow sorry to hear that, did you get back your same Forte that was broken into or did your insurance company give you money for a new Forte? And yea my friend I agree, Toyota products are some of the loudest in their class not sure why they don't use some engine insulation etc. Forte is nice

Thank you so much Kevin for reviewing affordable new cars and for including destination when stating prices! Crazy how an almost fully loaded 2024 Kia Forte GT Line is around the same price as a 2024 Toyota Corolla LE and yet the Forte GT Line has so much more features & amenities!

I just bought the 24 GT-Line less then 2 weeks ago. It's INCREDIBLE on fuel mileage. I'm averaging 47-49 MPG in the economy mode.. Mostly highway driving. I had a 20 mile drive, where I hit 52 MPG!! It feels great. I love and use all of the standard features in this trim. The few issues that I noticed with it, can be updated in software. When using the lane assist with the auto steering feature, if there is an exit coming up or a turning lane opening up, the car wants to follow the solid white line on the right. So, the auto-steering needs more time in development. Perhaps a tie-in with the navigator to have the car follow the centre line instead of mainly the right solid line, when the lane spacing increases to accomodate an exit or a turning lane. The navigation system's saved locations are not searchable based on how I have repeated locations labelled. Since I travel for work, I have over 120 locations that I constantly call on. I would like to search as I would any other location, with the ability to just search saved locations. The 1 to 4 car length to hold spacing while in criuse control is too close. Four car lengths should be minimum, not the maximum. The car's radar can aquire a vehicle in front of me at least 10 car lengths ahead of me. So, having a 4 to 8 car length seperation while in cruise, where my car will slow down to match the speed of the vehicle in front, is a lot safer and smarter. Otherwise, I love the car. it's totally quiet. You can bearly hear it. Somethimes I think that it's an EV.

Just had my brand new 2023 Forte GT-Line w/ Tech Package totaled when stopped at a red light... ended up getting an upgrade to the 2024 model. I was pleasantly surprised to see I actually got some extra safety and navigation features as standard for the GT-Line. Would have been nice to have the wireless charger (to remind me to take my phone with me...) and moonroof, but I wasn't prepared to go beyond my means. I fucking love this car and I want to love it, even when finances get tight.

Not a 2024, however, I do own a 2016 Kia Forte. Owned it for 6 years of it's 8 year life. It's been a pretty bulletproof vehicle and have only done the basic maintenance (Oil, filters, etc) plus new break pads once and 2 sets of tires since I do mostly highway driving. It just surpassed 110K miles.
I have, HOWEVER, done some other research and have reconsidered trading in and upgrading to the newer Fortes mostly because they are all being manufactured in Mexico (the dealerships nearby all show the VINs online and each one is Mexico made). My current 2016 Forte VIN shows it was manufactured in Korea. Watched a Scotty Kilmer video with him going over a 2015 Forte, I believe, with close to 250K miles and having zero issues (also made in Korea), versus the new ones with larger engines, more tech, that CVT trans and so on that don't seem AS reliable.
I think the takeaway would be to just keep an eye on any Kia that's ACTUALLY still being produced in Korea via the VIN numbers.

I just rented a 2024 Forte then a 2024 Corolla and there's no competition. The Corolla is actually quite crude by comparison with a noise, jittery ride and a tech interface that is crude by comparison. Both cars were basically new (fewer than 5,000 miles). The Forte felt nice for its price point while the Corolla felt cheap.

I bought a new '21 Forte GT (auto-GT2 package) off the lot.. just hit 35k miles. I've mostly had no issues and a great car for daily use. I was surprised to get about 34mpg combined, and 40mpg on the highway.
The only two issues I've had were around the 3k mark I notice my passenger window only worked intermittently, same for the both rears - a very big bummer at the time. I dealership replaced the rears motors (the switch was good) under warranty and havent had a issues since. I was not able to get the passenger window motor replaced because was working at the time, but has worked without issue for the last 18 months or so.
The second issues, is the DCT does "slip" from time to time/pop out of gear momentarily. Not very often, maybe 15 times over 35,000 miles. Usually in the 2nd to 3rd shift. Not very enjoyable, but only last a second or two - but kinda concerning for longevity and I've seen other people experience this.
Outside of the unrefined nature of the transmission at lower speeds its good, the ride quality on the GT package is a little firm but not bad, I wish I could turn off the pumped in exhaust noise, I hate how my screen is interrupted every time I go into sport mode (wish that was adjustable) - still I would recommend for a affordable but still peppy car with most features you could ask for. (GT - GT2 package)

I just purchased a 2024 Kia Forte GT (auto transmission), and so far, I could not be happier! I was astonished how much car you can get for the money!! Loaded with features, including all the latest in technology. It's also an extremely attractive car. I had no problem securing insurance through Liberty Mutual, however my annual premium doubled. Having said that, I must point out that my previous car was 14 years old, so I realize insurance will generally be less expensive. I purchased my new Forte from Premier Kia of Carlsbad (CA). They were a referral through the Costco Auto Purchase Program. The dealership is phenomenal! My buying experience was very good, as has been support so far. I will say they are the second dealership referred by Costco. The first was a NIGHTMARE--Ball Kia in National City, CA. I reported them back to Costco, and then proceeded with Premier. Best decision ever.

I have a 2022 forte gt2, and its a pretty good bang for the buck car. I fuel efficient, relatively quick, has tons of features, etc. My only gripe with the car is the piss poor dct. Sure its fun when you step on it, and thats about the only positive thing i can say about it. Ive had my dct replaced 3 times already under warranty. These transmissions are so problematic at the dealerships are stock piling them for replacements. The first couple times i had it replaced i had to wait weeks each time. Now, they've said next time it goes they'll have one ready for me. That tells me theyre anticipating it failing again, and too be honest i do feel it slipping and shifting funny already, again. With all of that said, this car is amazing, with the huge exception of the piss poor dct. Im glad kia/hyundia discontinued it going forward.

    • @wbwayne8887
      @wbwayne8887 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

They did discontinue it on the new Kona and Kia Seltos, however it's still on the 2024 Forte GT. The reason, if I ever get a Forte GT, it will most certainly be the manual. The only real equipment that's lacking on the manual compared to the GT2 pkg is the power seat, ventilated seat, ambient lighting, and adaptive cruise. I really would like the adaptive cruise, but not worth chancing it with the 7spd dry DCT, which continues to be a problem even after the Hyundai Tuscon class action lawsuit with the same powertrain.

The Kia Forte LXS msrp is about $20,490 plus freight is about $21,500 but they wanted $27,000 at the dealership in Hilton Head, South Carolina, they have $5,500 in bogus fees and markups, it is not an affordable cheap car, it cost the same as a Honda Civic, so I went and bought a Honda Civic Sport 2024, The Forte is a good car, don't get me wrong but if it cost the same as a Civic, I won't buy it. It is like the difference between iPhone and Android, the brand. The Civic is much more car with a big resale value compared to the Forte.

Well, my frame of reference is skewed because of time on the planet. With that said, I remember buying a new Honda Accord loaded at 10k in 1988, and it seemed a ridiculous price. So, the numbers are relative, I suppose, and that Accord to this day remains one of the best cars I ever owned at any price. I'm getting old and rambling, great review Kevin.

@@jeffamburgey7485 wow $10k in 88? In 1995 a base Corolla started at $14k it’s crazy how you can get a loaded Accord in 88 for $4k less. That is some serious inflation taking place between the 80s and 90s and I believe it, none of these new cars can touch the feeling and connection of 80s, 90s, and early 2000s vehicles. Even the economy cars back then are more fun to drive than modern day high end cars

@@jeffamburgey7485 I'm seeing loaded Accord prices around 15k almost 16k for the original MSRP back in 88 for a LX trim Sedan did you get a big discount or buy a loaner car at the time to get the price down to $10k?

No, I traded in a 74 Eldorado that got 8 mpg. The total price of the car was 14 or 15k, it's been a while.
