So I invited a friend of mine over to help me test this one out (she's such a good sport!) and we will show you UP CLOSE what this "universal" foundation actually looks like ...

Myself and a much darker skintoned friend have the red and ruby shades and they are amazing. Well worth a try!
I knew that claim couldnt be true, but some companies will say anything to make a buck. BTW, your friend is gorgeous, and I love her hair! Maybe, since she's such a natural on the TH-cams, you could do more videos with her showing makeup extremes for light/dark skintones. Or how one pallette looks different based on the skin tones, and how the same look can look different on two different people.

ScientificExplorer Girl - you may be right! Actually, Jeffree Star has tested a foundation like that (don’t remember, what brand though) and he even stated, that it not only feels but even smells like sunscreen...

I use the Josie Marian Argan Oil with 47% sunscreen. It's white out of the little bottle but sinks right in. Love it.
I find it's also hard to find someone with any texture or acne! Zabrena comes close to my oiliness even if we are shades apart.

Brilliant! You are the 2 types of women who have the hardest time finding foundations very light women and dark skinned women!
I can't find my skin color either. I'm a light-skinned woman of color. The colors specifically for WOC are too orangey for me and the colors for Caucasians are too pasty. It's not a big deal because I've only ever worn foundation three or four times in my life.

Hi you know I used to watch so many make up videos from different channels and little by little i got bored i don't watch them anymore but you I stuck by you because you are THE BEST you are never boring just perfect. I love the make up you are wearing when you were with your friend I wish you told me what you used or do a tutorial on that because it just looks beautiful 🌹

With my Josie maran matchmaker foundation, I use fingers to blend, then do a final pass with the sponge
Edit: woo girl... now that I saw Corinne try it, I don’t think using fingers would help!

I don't know anymore, but once upon a time in a drugstore not too far away, L'Oreal True Match worked (plus once you find your color, they make it super easy to match up blush, etc.) 💜
Not implying the product might be any better but aren't products like these meant to be applied with hands? I assume the colour changing happens when the product is warmed up (to your body temperature). I may be totally wrong, but worth a try?!
Saumya Amarasinghe your face is body temp so in theory it should warm up eventually after applied

I'm sure you remember but Almay did this type of foundation several years ago. .I'm not sure if it's made anymore but it really worked. I even had a dark tan at the time I used it. But seriously I don't know if they even make it anymore. I used my hands to apply it back then too. You and your friend are both lovely
I love this video! Zabrena, you’re one of my first YT subscriptions and I love the way you go about your reviews. You’re beautiful and intelligence, I just have to keep in mind that I have dry skin and I’m of Filipino descent so I have a tough time finding the right foundation. From one of your older videos, I bought Loreal Pro Glow since I didn’t want the matte formulas to bring attention to my dry skin. Thanks again!

For me I found it does work. we tested it on my fair skin and my friends dark skin. the only thing is I found it doesn't work real good if you've already got a product on your skin such as a serum or a moisturiser. they seem to block the workings of the foundation. yes it's very strong sunscreen smell is overwhelming and it is greasy but for myself and my friend to be honest it really did change to our skin tone if we don't apply any other products beforehand but I cannot go without a serum or moisturiser and then go straight in and apply foundation. so I guess for some people it might work. for me I don't really use it. it might be ok to take to the beach to apply as a sunscreen but I would not wear it as an everyday foundation.

I noticed the foundation actually was Changing colors though, just not the correct one lol! Highly doubtful but I'm curious if it would work better applied with fingers?
Coffee Brake with Dani tried an Almay foundation that has the same claim, but to make it work (switch color) she applied it with her fingers because some how the heat of her fingers made it switch colors, she tried a beauty blender but it didn’t work

I recall once I was curious about the technology so I rubbed some of the foundation on my parents red kitchen wall & the darn foundation turned pink! 😂

Erika: It worked for me. I bought the “light” shade, and it was better than expected! I applied it with my fingers. The formula is lightweight and not full coverage-it evened our my skin tone and did NOT melt off-not even in FL heat and humidity! I wear it when I’m out running efrBds or when I want a natural or no-makeup look.And I’m very particular about my foundation. But my skin is thirty-ish and not very oily.
I heard alotta people say it smells like sunscreen to them.... Not sure what honeysuckle smells like, is it similar?
Also, do you think fingers or a brush would be better to help "spread" or make the pigment beads blend?
Sophia MacFarlane I’ve never tried that specific brand, but I used to use a color matching foundation/BB cream for several years. The best technique I found was to pump 1-2 pumps out into your hand and then rub your palms together to warm it up and break the pigment beads. Then very quickly use your fingers/hands to move the product to your face and work it in until it matches well. Then use a brush or sponge for smoothing things out. But most of those that I’ve seen are BB Creams and end up giving very light coverage. They really only look good if you have perfect skin to begin with but want to glow more. I had to stop using them when I started having issues with my skin and moved on to full coverage foundation.
Oh yes, BBW honeysuckle was my favorite as well. I was so mad when they discontinued it!

Great job ladies! I am so glad you guys did this. It’s hard enough to find foundation that’s right for your skin, but that didn’t match anyone. I always have some Estée Lauder. I know they have a large range (I’m sure it could use expanding but it’s more than 12 shades of beige).

Oh girl bath and body works wild honeysuckle is my favorite!!!!! I love it! The spray, the lotion, the shower gel, all of it! You can still get it sometimes online. I stocked up, I have like three or four bottles of the spray and lotion and shower gel. I dunno id like it on my face though.

Just by watching the video it reminds me theater grease paint. Which is great for stage performances, but it’s not flattering in natural light. It’s also not meant for every day wear, it’s too harsh on the skin. Your friend was a great sport. Bless her heart, she tried to blend it out. Too cute.

It's called AcneFree, it's basically a "compare to Proactive" Product. They sell Kits Online and in Stores, as well as separate items. I've used their Sensitive Skin Kit with their Sonic Brush, and it works well.

For anyone who is interested in powder foundation, Meow cosmetics has a big color range with a lot of undertone options. You can also purchase samples to find the right shade.
Zabrena you need to try this out by applying with your fingers. All the time matching products I’ve come across recommend fingers. It’s the warmth of your skin that helps it to change.

Cover Fx foundations are the best!! They had 40 shades (before Fenty) and their ingredients are really clean. Seriously, the only brand that doesn't break me out. I use the shade N0, it is actually fair enough for me and does not oxidize!!!

Hi Zabrena! Hope you and yours are well. At first, I thought this foundation was like the L'Oreal BB Cream which, I'm sure you remember, comes out white then changes to a foundation-like color. I use the L'Oreal product, and after seeing how this foundation looked on you and Corinne, I will pass on it. Best regards!
