Great review. I am 60+ with dry skin and love this foundation. I have tried numerous primers and like NYX Honey Primer and Mirenesse primer the best with this. I have not found that this foundation is chalky or masky-like or settled into my fine lines, wrinkles or pilled. Ofc, I combat my dryness with a very thorough skincare routine which includes peptides, niacinamide, hyalouronic acid, serums, oils, and moisturizers. Perhaps that is why this product looks natural on me bc I plump up my skin beforehand. I have paid much more for foundations that I like but day after day I find myself reaching for my Face Tape Foundation. It's my new fav for day or evening. Once applied with my Stans Out sponge (i love it too!) I lightly go over it with my RCMA setting powder and it looks great. Stays put all day. I am quite light-fair with pink undertones and wear 20B, Light Beige. It has great staying power and looks very natural on me covering some discolorations and red spots. It's the first time my husband has told me he likes whatever it is I put on my face! Lol. That is testimony enough for me. Thx for a great review Risa. The foundation looks awesome on you too. Much love ❤
Thank you so much for this feedback! I think your testimonial will help others with dry, mature skin. I am so glad it works for you. I am going to try and do what someone else suggested in the comments, and mix it with a foundation with slightly less coverage.
Totally agree with "giving another chance". Thank you for giving your honest opinion, so many people are afraid to give an opinion at all.these days, unless it's agreeing with everyone else.
Hi Rachelle! To be honest I am a little anxious about having that part in the video. I am sure someone will have a problem with what I said, but I have to be prepared to take it I guess! 🙁
I totally agree with this I’m not into a one and done mentality. I recently expressed some thoughts about some of the raunchy nearly pornographic names for products put out by Too Faced in their recent launches and have stated that I won’t support their brand unless/ until they clean up their act. Theirs is not the only brand I’m not supporting due to this problem. It’s demeaning and degrading to women and it’s not ok. Thanks for speaking up! Love your channel and your beautiful reviews.
Thank you so much for this full explanation of this foundation! Because of the honest review it really helps one decide whether to spend their money or not on this product. Because of your full explanation of products I have purchased 2 of the Marc Jacobs eyeshadows and they were expensive but I am really loving them. Their staying power and blending makes them a great purchase! That’s why I watch your videos because you are very honest about how products work and you explain in detail your opinion! Thanks 🙏
I like this new foundation. I use a bit of the Cover FX blurring primer on my large pores followed by the Gripping Primer and this lasts all day on my oily skin.
Thanks so much Risa. I have normal skin but at 74 I have mature skin and I so appreciate your honesty that this foundation won’t work for me. I have discovered that less is more and find light to low medium coverage is best; not full coverage that doesn’t fill in my pores. I so appreciate all your hard work and never miss one of your videos. You pass on so much valuable information that even tho I’m not oily at all you always include comments on dry or mature skin which is extremely helpful. You are adorable. Thank you.
Thank you so much Bonnie! You are correct, I would not suggest this one for you. I am going to try the new one from It Cosmetics that’s coming out soon. Perhaps it will be more “mature skin” friendly!
I’m a 61 year old and my experience with this makeup was everything you said. My sister who is 52 recommended another similar Tarte product that is no longer made so I tried this one. It definitely highlights my pores and if you smudge any of it after it sets, it’s a mess. Very cakey. Thanks for your detailed honest review!
Hi Risa! I’ve been wearing this foundation for about the past week and I really like it! I love the coverage and I’m super pale so I’m glad they expanded their shade range. Thanks for your review!
Thank you so much for this review Risa! Now that I'm in my 40's my pores are more noticeable than they've ever been so I try to stay away from anything that will make them look more prominent! Also, I like a more natural finish since I don't have a lot of things to cover, so I think I'll be skipping this one. Thanks for saving me $$$! 💖😊
Get outta town girl!!! You can definitely pass for early 20z u lucky shit😁 lol!! That is awesome & u r wicked beautiful!! I hope I look just as good as you... I'm turning 40 this fall!!💕💕💕
I have dry skin and rosacea, and this is my favorite foundation I have ever tried! I purchased a second one as back up. Doesn't settle in my lines and wrinkles. I apply it with my fingers.
I just recently bought this foundation and the base tape primer. I have oily skin and huge pores as well. I found that using just a pea sized amount of my porefessional primer on t zone made a huge difference. I also use UD all nighter setting spray and this foundation lasts all day. I was quite impressed. It's definitely at the top of my favorites list.
This foundation def takes some getting used to. When I first tried it, it moved around on my face & was the only foundation that my husband commented on. He said that it looked like I had a lot of makeup on. If you don't use it sparingly and with the right powder, it moves around and accentuates your pores. I've figured out how to get it to work but its too much work for the $$. Great review!
I just recorded a review today on a foundation that I thought would perform beautifully on my DRY, mature skin & was shocked at its performance. You saying this one will sink into lines knocks it out for me right away. That’s the biggest issue I have with foundations - sinking into lines. I just don’t understand why brands don’t formula foundations to have more flexibility, more give, as anyone over e5 starts experiencing at least fine lines. I don’t know about you, but in my experience thus far, the majority of foundations that I’ve tested and reviewed that have performed well with wrinkles/lines have been in the luxury category. Still, I will continue to test all price-points searching for the holy grail for women my age with dry skin! Great review, Hun! Much love, Shelbie =)💚💋
I’m 25 with dry skin. I tried this with the smash box pore minimizing primer and the matte and poreless powder. It made my pores look huge! The coverage was great but it made my skin look so textured it is def going back.
I have to wear a mask at work and it's very hot and sweaty. At the end of the day my face looks awful because my foundation has either rubbed off or is a cakey, sweaty mess. Have you tested the Face Tape in hot weather? And if so is it good for hot weather? Also do you have a reccomendation for a sweat and transfer proof foundation that you think will hold up under a mask? Thank you for your videos
This is the review I have been waiting for. I always know you will give an honest review and I can buy my products based off your reviews!!! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for reviewing this foundation, I was thinking about trying it out but I don’t think it will look good on me without a lot of work. It’s funny that you mentioned Chanel because I was going to ask if you would please do a wear test on their new foundation 😃 so that I’ll know how it acts on oily mature skin like mine. If you’ve already done one I apologize for not having seen it. You look lovely and happy and that is what i like to see💖👍🏼
Thanks for the review! I am almost 35 and have very oily skin too and I am always trying to find the perfect foundation! Definitely subscribing and watching your other foundation and skin care videos because your skin is amazing btw!
Thanks for your honesty, as always. I am mature however still only a combination skinned 53 year old. Do you think I would like it? How about using the Hourglass Veil Translucent Powder and Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer?
I went in to Ulta last night & put some of this on the back of my hand. I know it is winter & I didn’t have a moisturizer or primer on my hand & I didn’t put any powder over it to set it either. However, I went about looking around in the store for a while & I looked down at my hand & it looked rather chalky. Needless to say, I thought this was probably not a product for my aging skin. I will tell you that they had the new Morphe 24 hour liquid foundation too & I tried that too. I put it on the back of my other hand & after the same amount of time, it was about 3-4 times more chalky than the Tarte. I didn’t walk out with either one!
Very good review on Foundation. Appreciate showing what it looked like at different times of day and being honest at the end of your review. It still looked really nice on you but definitely for people who want full coverage.
Great video Risa. I have dry skin and prefer light to medium coverage foundations so I think I'll pass. But I'm glad you're reviewing the foundation, I never had a problem with tarte and the original shape tape controversy.
Risa, I would appreciate if you could recommend a foundation that is medium to full coverage for very dry skin..I would love to find a dewy, full coverage foundation that gives a smooth, flawless, radiant finish..At present I am wearing Josie Moran's Vibrancy Argan Oil foundation that was recommended by a Sephora beauty advisor..It's nicer than many of the others I have tried but I don't consider it the holy grail..Maybe this is as good as it gets but I thought I would ask for any suggestions you may have..
Thanks so much for the review. I am still on the fence as to whether I will try this foundation. I am oily & mature and being in Australia, I would need to order it online, so I'm always scared of buying the wrong shade when I can't go to a store to be colour matched.
Love your videos, very educational. I am the person with the mature, dry skin. Could you maybe do a video on suggested products for the mature, normal to dry skin? I know you have oily skin, but maybe find someone to apply make up on that has normal to dry skin.
Great review of the new Tarte foundation. After that fiasco with the ShapeTape foundation launch, I’m happy to see they are redeeming themselves. I’ve been a Tarte fan almost since their beginning. In all fairness, as a WOC while I’ve always loved many of their products including complexion, ive never considered them my go to for foundation even though I always found a match pretty easily. I think they unfortunately got caught up by the inclusivity other brands have embraced. I will certainly pick up this foundation next time I’m at Ulta or at least do a color swatch as I’m not sure with the introduction of soo many shades of my go to shades still work for me.
I have dry skin and lots of fine lines especially around the eye area (only 45!) and really struggle with foundations making my lines look worse. I've tried various concealers and powders that all seem to make them look worse. It has got to the point now where I go for a very lightweight foundation or tinted moisturiser instead but would love to be able to put on a more full coverage foundation when I go out in the evenings. Thank you for considering dry skinned people in your review as it really helps to know which ones to avoid. Love the eye look in the video. What eyeshadow palette did you use? xx
Thank you for the review. I was very curious how this “corrective” action for Shape Tape was going to turn out. I’m loving the Peach Perfect, but I may give this the try next round.
Hi Risa! Thank you for a wonderful video! I enjoyed it even though I don't wear foundation any more. That's how good you are! Love supporting you and your channel! ❤xoxox
Great review...I have normal skin now. Used to be oily and I have large pores. I went to Ulta to see this foundation and I could not get a good match. Everything looked too yellow. Also, I did not like the full coverage. Instead, I went and replaced my Chanel lumbered. I needed a lighter shade for the “winter” (I live in SWFL it is 80 degrees) because have been really good about sun protection and my previous one was too dark. in the summer my skin is oilier because it is also 100% humidity in addition to the heat...everyone looks glowy...it may be worth a try then Thank you for your advice on how to use it. It also makes me think how to make some other foundations I have...try out different primer/setting powder combinations.
Thanks I’ve got oily skin but at my age I have to be careful with matte foundations I’ve never tried Shape Tape because of the dryness I use Lancômes Effacernes Waterproof concealer in light buff I mix that with colorscience peach corrector type concealer and it works for me it took me forever to find one that works Angie hot and flashy uses Lancôme Concealer I reluctantly bought it and I’m glad I did and set it with Laura Mercier’s under eye brightening powder or Huda’s Beauty pound cake setting powder
I could not find a light rosy tone shade match for me at Ulta... also wore some samples around on my hand for a bit and they seemed to oxidize. Did u notice that?
Risa I love love your videos. You have given me so much life back. It would be wonderful if you could review Sydney Grace eye shadows. I truly trust your reviews. Thank you again💐
Great video Risa. Not the foundation for me, I have very dry mature skin and like more natural looking on skin than full coverage. Thanks for the review.
I’m doing a wear test. I have dry mature skin and not even 5 mins after apply this foundation, it started sinking and breaking up in my laugh lines and my forehead lines. On the side with primer I’m not having that issue.
Great, thorough review. I'm a medium coverage girl, so I'll steer clear. Thanks for the reminder about the Strivectin primer (which I bought from your recommendation) ! I love it and must have put it in a drawer and forgotten about it. Oops!
Can you please do a video on how you get your hair around your face to stay that way? You have so much volume and get it to stay off your face.. I have never mastered that.
Hi Risa. Do you have sensitive skin? I’am 41, oily and sensitive skin... I am looking forward a foundation for oily and sensitive skin there are many years... perhaps Tarte shape Tape would be good to me. I have shape tape concealer and love it! Thanks for sharing! 😘🤗
I’m so glad you did this. There is so many opinions on this. And well, your opinion is the one I want !! Love watching you always. ... I’m more dry. So yeah. Not me !! Ha ha
Please help me!! I have used so many different foundations. Born This Way, Estée Lauder Double Wear, New Maybelline foundation etc....I have yet to find something I like. Everything looks horrible my pores look huge and make my skin look worse everything sets in my fine lines. I also have rosecea. I’ve used powder primer etc... I’m so frustrated with my makeup. I just wonder if there is something I’m missing or doing something wrong. Suggestions please!!
@Buffy Williams - sounds like we have the same skin issues. I have been using the TF Peach Perfect foundation with the Revlon Photo primer and love the combo. I apply both with a damp sponge and press the primer and foundation in where I have large pores. Hope this helps.
Hi Buffy! I agree that the TF Peach Perfect is an excellent foundation, but skincare could be also be part of the problem. Are you exfoliating? Do you use any facial oils?
I thought the foundation looked great on you. I'm not sure if I will give it a try though. I am going to try the Benefit Porefessional you mentioned though. You look beautiful, as always. Also, what is the brand and color of the nail polish you wore in this video. It's so pretty.
I didn’t know the previous formula Had issues. I happened to not like it myself and returned it. I would like to try this though. I wish we could get samples.
Thanks for the review!!! Maybe I’ll get a sample, but wary of going cakey, since I am still learning (in my 40s hehhehe) how to make foundation work on my oily skin.
Glad I saw this review..I was a tiny bit tempted to try this but absolutely love my CYO foundation and after seeing this review, it's a definite pass. 🤷
Am I the only one who cannot use shape tape concealer, it just sinks right into everything🤔 Thank you for a good review on this foundation. It wont be one I will try.
I think tarte did the right thing. I know it's been a year BUT it takes awhile to make something better. I would much rather them take a year to do something better than a few months and it's the same or worse.
I’m not a fan of super full coverage... I like my skin, now that I’ve gotten my skin care routine down - so far, maybe in a couple of years, things will change.
Great review. I am 60+ with dry skin and love this foundation. I have tried numerous primers and like NYX Honey Primer and Mirenesse primer the best with this. Try Paula's Choice Night Cleanser thta shrinks pores, people swear by it
I have to say I LOVE your hair color in this video!!! How do you think this compares to ELDW? Thanks for the review!! Blessings!💕

Risa...do you still like the Jouer Essentials full coverage foundation???? Also...what is the nail polish you have on called??? Love it!!!💜

Absolutely love this thorough review, Risa! Thank you for giving us great content. Love, love, love!
Great review Risa, I’m not interested in this for my mature, dry skin but I’m always curious what you think about products!!😊
I have very dry skin and I still watch your reviews because I enjoy your videos! :)
Thank you! I really appreciate it! 😃
Thanks for the review! I am almost 35 and have very oily skin too and I am always trying to find the perfect foundation! Definitely subscribing and watching your other foundation and skin care videos because your skin is amazing btw!
Hi Risa would u say this tape foundation is better or the Ct airbrush is better for 40+ combo oily skin
Thanks for your honesty, as always. I am mature however still only a combination skinned 53 year old. Do you think I would like it? How about using the Hourglass Veil Translucent Powder and Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer?

Great video Risa. I have dry skin and prefer light to medium coverage foundations so I think I'll pass. But I'm glad you're reviewing the foundation, I never had a problem with tarte and the original shape tape controversy.
Do you use any kind of hydrator before you apply your makeup? I think that would really help!
Yes, of course. I always use moisturizer before primer and foundation.
Thank you for your honest review! I thought about trying this, but I have dry skin and the shape tape concealer is a little too drying for me!
Have you tried Lancôme’s Renergie Lift? I used it on a dry skinned client recently and it was amazing!
Thank you for this thorough review Risa! Great job! Smiles, Stella
Thank you Risa, Your review was so informative. I have dry skin and and in my 50's this review helps me a lot on my decision.

Thank you Risa. I am dying to try it in store! It sounds very intriguing honestly.
Thank you for your clear explanation of your experience with the foundation. Your suggestions are appreciated!
Love your makeup tutorials. Have you made a tutorial using a plum palette? Would love to see one. Thank you. Dana
I've been considering trying this! I have very oily skin so thanks for the review! I'm gonna give it a try I think🤗
Great review!💗 With my pores and the TF peach powder being my holy grail, I’ll have to pass on this foundation.
Loved the video review, thank you! Will you be doing a review of the Kat Von D Lock It foundation any time soon?

Great info! Was debating on giving this a go.
Great video Risa. Not the foundation for me, I have very dry mature skin and like more natural looking on skin than full coverage. Thanks for the review.
Very thorough review, thank you!😊
Great review! Sounds like this could be a good "evening out" foundation for me, but not so much for day to day.
Yes, it’s perfect for evening. I might try sheering it out by mixing it with a lighter foundation for daytime.
Thank you so much for another great review! ❤️❤️
Thanks Risa. Great review!
I’m doing a wear test. I have dry mature skin and not even 5 mins after apply this foundation, it started sinking and breaking up in my laugh lines and my forehead lines. On the side with primer I’m not having that issue.
Omg really!!! What primer did u use if u don't mind me asking?😊
I just bought it today. Tried it out just now and I am not a fan. It made my pores stand out big time. I'm taking it back first thing in the morning
kristy maldonado Thanks!
Just got this and love it …
Good review. Thanks!
Karla Q thank you so much. I will definitely try that.😁
Hi Buffy! I agree that the TF Peach Perfect is an excellent foundation, but skincare could be also be part of the problem. Are you exfoliating? Do you use any facial oils?
I do exfoliate about once a week but just use moisturizer.
Thank you so much for this review 👍❤❤❤
I thought the foundation looked great on you. I'm not sure if I will give it a try though. I am going to try the Benefit Porefessional you mentioned though. You look beautiful, as always. Also, what is the brand and color of the nail polish you wore in this video. It's so pretty.
Hi! It’s a really old color from Sephora and sadly the sticker with the name has come off. 😕
Thank you for your review it really helped 😀🏵
Thanks for this review!
Use a dewy setting spray to lighten the makeupy look.
I love the hair pulled back
Thats how mine is most days 😁
Glad you did this review. I can’t even use the concealer. I’m drier and mature, so I’ll stay away from this foundation. Thanks again!
I didn’t know the previous formula Had issues. I happened to not like it myself and returned it. I would like to try this though. I wish we could get samples.
I agree Jennifer! It’s crazy to me that Ulta doesn’t offer to make samples!!!
Thank you Risa :)
My skin is normal but I'm interested if this is sweat proof. I go in a store and within mins I'm sweating it's horrible
Thanks for the review!!! Maybe I’ll get a sample, but wary of going cakey, since I am still learning (in my 40s hehhehe) how to make foundation work on my oily skin.
You can sheer it out a bit by applying it with a damp sponge vs a dry one. I can’t believe I forgot to say that in the video! 🤦♀️
I am 35+ and I need something for all-night clubbing. My skin is a combination of an oily T zone, and drier cheeks. Would this be for me?
Glad I saw this review..I was a tiny bit tempted to try this but absolutely love my CYO foundation and after seeing this review, it's a definite pass. 🤷
I won one of those sponges from Samantha March!!!
Yay!!!! That’s awesome! I love Samantha.
Am I the only one who cannot use shape tape concealer, it just sinks right into everything🤔 Thank you for a good review on this foundation. It wont be one I will try.
You look awesome 👏
thanks for vid pretty lady
I think tarte did the right thing. I know it's been a year BUT it takes awhile to make something better. I would much rather them take a year to do something better than a few months and it's the same or worse.
My pores are horrendous so I will be skipping this one. Thanks for that review.
I’m not a fan of super full coverage... I like my skin, now that I’ve gotten my skin care routine down - so far, maybe in a couple of years, things will change.
✨✨😍😍
I love this foundation! I mix with the Peach Perfect and its the best combo ever!
That’s a great idea!!! I am going to try that! 😃
I thought the foundation looked good on you. I have a lot of redness also to my skin. Have older skin with wrinkles.
Water proof went to dentist today
I’m early!
But way too high a price
Great review. Thank you
Great review!! Thank you 💖
