Don't take my comment as trolling or negative. Get your workers to cut grass and weeds throughout your farm. The avacardors look a bit yellowish like they are not getting enough nutrients and rain. You already have water available, get them to water the plants .You may also need natural manure to boost plant . Keep up the good work, and I wish you well.

Especially, chasing the baby animal and waking up early to go out with their grandfather to feed the animals. They are all professionals now and give back to Jamaica in many ways. Bless up to you and your family.

Thanks for the farm update. Good farm help is difficult to secure so work with easy systems to run. The land is a large expanse and you best work it in blocks. Demarcate sections where you concentrate resources and attention.
My little research in the avocado plantation subject indicated need for drip irrigation.
    0) Have faith in God and his plans for you.
    1) Establish a water reservoir on high ground ( brick built or plastic ) then lay drip irrigation hoses from a header pipe across the top section of the demarcated field. Holes at each plant.
    2) Ensure the two (2) types of complementary avocado varieties to be planted. Majority can be Hass and the other type will be few . This is to encourage pollination as flowers ( Male and female) open alternately between varieties.
    3) Establish a reliable water pump ( preferably solar powered ) to pump water to the reservoir at the top or higher part of the field.
    4) Research on plant density vs canopy management of the plantation.
    5) I think the ponds require pvc lining at the bottom . They should have some brick built areas and preferably cascade into each other. I.e. water pump to top pond cascading , controllably to other. Put a fountain like feature to ensure PLENTY OF OXYGEN in the pond. ( the fish pond waterfall at Sam Levy village 🇿🇼 works that way) that just brings water up then down into the pond. I see security as a major issue for the fish ponds though. All the best 🇿🇼

Hi the acreage of the land is good to engage in profitable farming. Keep goats in goat pens, for meat, dairy goat very profitable - goat milk sales, goat milk is healthy, with opportunity for value addition yogurt etc. You have enough land to plant fodder crops with readily available water, goats are easier to manage than cows (but still keep a few dairy cows)plus have a higher rate of multiplication. Supplement with kienyeji chickens deep litter or with limited free range foraging, sell kienyeji eggs & chicken for meat. Use the chicken, goat droppings & cow manure for biogas to power the farm, cooking and lighting. Good luck

Hi Tigress nice to see you venturing into farming.....I was wondering if you know why your young seedlings are dying? I have noticed there's no mulching....at the base of the young plants the soil needs to be covered with either dead or dry grass to conserve moisture throughout. The timing of watering is important too. I should water later afternoon when the sun is not hot allowing the plant to take in water overnight...I see you've plenty of water and can do some serious farming in your large farm.

The holes in the cow peas are due to pest infestation and not hail.Hail will completely decimate a crop. You might need to spray some pesticide The weeds/grass around the avocados need to be removed. The weeds are competing for nutrients with the avocado. Too many weeds. One should be able to spot the avocado easily.

    Good job.
I think the replacement avocados are too young, they'll disappoint you. The success rate in avocado farming is greatly determined by the quality of the seedlings planted.
Change your farm worker(s) and allow the new worker(s) to grow their own things in the farm between the avocados. Intercropping will make the farm clean of weeds. Will motivate the farm worker(s) to work harder.
My Avocado farm is near Ndori, bring your new worker(s) for benchmarking.

Being a farmer, let me diagnose your problem. Number one, your farm employees and number two, your farm employees. They don't seem like individuals who can bring productivity. When you arrived, they look not the type. When you asked about milk, they were off the context. Fire them all and bring individuals who can maximize the potential of the land. It is big, green and with a river. I sound mean, but that is the reality.

Tigress one fact if you’re not there to oversee the work it will be a struggle.
One good advice is to purchase a bush hog to clean the land. I observe many farmers plant the tree’s in straight rows so that you can drive through them. Please farm organically that way the runoff will not be going into the river.
Those flies will make your cows sick. They are biting the cows.

  • @boyearomolaran3639
    @boyearomolaran3639 ปีที่แล้ว

Also, the weed needs to be cleared because they're competing for soil nutrients with your young Avocado plants. Farm is showing serious neglect.
Needs to be clean and apealing (even to you). 5ft x 5ft spacing of plants. Plants need to be above ground level to avoid root rot. I saw effect of fruit flies on the leaves you showed. Farm needs to be sprayed with organic pesticides. You might need to focus on one type of farming for now till you are comfortable with the yields.

Avocado leaves can turn brown due to too much sun exposure, pest infestations or inadequate watering.Caretakers will need to do their best there.

    Well done.
You said that the particular species of avacado is for expert, why that specie?
Also what is it that could have been done from preventing the avacado tree from dying ?

As a person who use to plant flowers I know the feeling of putting something in the ground and watch iit mature to the point of generating beautiful blooms but sometimes this did not happen and I had to start again. I know you've invested money but dont give up keep on planting those "second chance trees." one day youre gonna look back and tell us how much they pushed to never quit and to develop resillence as a business woman. I think they have already done that based on what you said at the end of the video. In my closing I just want to reinforce what you said with this winners never quit, and quitters never win. All the best

The land is beautiful, avocados hate to be waterlogged they like good drainage. Can you pull up one of the dead plants and take a look at the roots system. Sometimes insects attack the roots. I think you should also buy some more land for your cattle so that they can be free to Rome about freely grazing eating the grass while fertilising the land. You have an insect problem your beans are eaten by insects not hale stones.

Maybe you should employ a farm manager.
