Hi, Thanks for uploading this video. One quick question: Is it correct that this method of manufacturing will produce teeth which has the same normal module all the way whereas the tangential module varies and allows for the bigger diameter?
I have now found out that this is not the case. The "normal module" is an abstraction as the teeth are involute in the tangential cross-section and not the normal profile. Also, the tangential module is also an abstraction since these teeth does not have an ideal shape as the gap and tooth thickness is determined by a combination of the spiral angle (determined by the cones, cutter radius and mean spiral angle) and the depth of the cut.
Aha! I have never seen a bevel gear cutter. I could not figure out how it was done. Now I know. Thanks.
What calculation software do you use?
I have to spend almost 3 days to cut the gear, but this machine took about 10 mins to finish! Good one!

Why the crown/ring is not having generated profile similar to involute as in pinion? Why that motion is missing?
