Motion sickness meme is overblown. I had it, for three days. It’s gone. No motion sickness after completing Alyx on sticks. No motion sickness while riding buggies in HL2 VR. Give your brain something to process and time to adapt. Mind-blowing concept of adaptation, I know
Dear Sean Kinney-esque gamer, I stumbled upon your channel a couple weeks ago and I had to let you know I almost SOILED myself at the Pokémon S1E38 joke, IMMEDIATELY subscribed. Keep up the great work bro
With Asgard's Wrath and Blade and Sorcery's campaign mode we're finally getting singleplayer VR content that can be referred to as Games and not Experiences.
It's kinda sad that there are several good VR-only titles, but what people do when they see them? They ask "how to play it without VR?" and try to get them in this weird, kinda castrated state where you get almost same game but with 1/3 of actual experience and then they say that VR is gimmicky, weird and uncontrollable (the fact that in VR most humans have two hands to control shit kinda eludes them)... I personally got hooked into VR by one of expos where there was a booth where I could play HTC Vive for 10 minutes. Experience was... scuffed, to say the least, but it did hook me enough that I bought Rift S, when that thing broke for no reason, I bought original Quest and then bought Qest 3 that I'm using as my main VR headset that is actually wireless and I can play computer games on it via software and wifi. So tech is pretty much there. What isn't there to play VR games for 8 hours is the fact that Quest has battery that lasts for less time it takes to get an order from McDonalds and the fact that most of the VR games require player to move and we know that gamers are lazy bastards that don't want to move for an inch! What absolutely killed PSVR2 for me is something that made me wonder and try PSVR1 back in the day (btw, PSVR1 is complete ass as a VR headset) - PSVR2 doesn't have unique games. Completely. Playstation VR2 has no PSVR2-specific games, everything you can buy on it, aside of ONE title, you can buy on Quest 3. But on Quest 3 you have some exclusives like Resident Evil 4 VR, which is a new way to play RE4, or Asgard's Wrath games which are big action-RPG-puzzle games exclusive to Quest. And PSVR2 on top of not having exclusives, also costs like Quest 3 and requires you to already have PS5, while Quest 3 can play games on its own, without limitations.
very much agree. VR ports and mods are very cool don't get me wrong, but the point of VR is that higher level of detail and immersion. normal games dont have that built into them like a true VR game would
No games , any real vr games are on pcvr or the quest. Maybe the psvr 2 if you get lucky but unlikely. Nothing decent on psvr 1. You can't play beat saber with mods on playstation like you can on quest and pc , so even the few games it does have are worse@@vdpt9911
I agree with you that vr is not where i want it to be right now but from my perspective vr is growing and at this point with the quest 3s at a better price point and known games like batman arkham shadow, metro awakening and the alien game right around christmas more people are going to be trying vr i think the big issues holding vr back are motion sickness meta messing up marketing and people not being able to try it for free i think meta should make a push to do demos in tech stores and at conventions and stuff because you cant understand vr without puting a headset on
Love your videos. Just came across your channel a couple days ago, and was surprised to see so few subs considering how good the videos are. Keep it up man, hope you keep getting more followers!
Honestly. I think the future of VR will mostly find its home as an alternative display. Figure instead of looking at a monitor, you'd put on the VR headset and use whatever periferials you need to play the game. Overall though i see VR as much more another tool in our collective toolbelt to be able to do so much more with than just gaming. From equipment training to experiencing history and aspects of it realitively first hand (such as lets say flying a space shuttle from launch in VR as none are still operation), to being able to look around places using your head instead of a mouse and keyboard, and it be in realish time (latency being the biggest factor) allowing people to see real views that most would never know exist on our planet. Shoot, you could even use it to for weddings so lets say bedridden family members dont have to be left out of it and can still at leadt partially experience it with the rest of their family. But much like AI its trying to get forcibly typecast into something that leaves SO MUCH on the table of what it can actually do way better at than what we currently have.
if you already have a gaming pc getting into vr is cheap. you can pick up a used quest on marketplace for like 100 bucks and as long as you have a wifi 6 router you can just connect it to ur pc wirelessly, or you can go wired which is gross dont do that. Ya i agree theres not many games but theres some pretty good ones. especially multiplayer shooters with friends or fishing with friends. It'll get better with age, probably be like 2 or 3 years before we see a real blockbuster vr game. beat saber probably sold more headsets than anything else.
My friend who went hard for Star Citizen, and is still carrying a torch for it, tells me that I must get a Vive. For obvious reasons, I ignore all of his recommendations.
well, tbh VR is livelier than you give credit for, Games like Pavlov, dragon fist VR Ghosts of tabor and quite a lot more have a lot of open lobbies, especially when you combine that with the fact they are all on different platforms and most games aren't cross platform, it's pretty impressive you can find a full lobby on pretty much any VR platform, and sony recently made the PSVR2 compatible with PC so that's another consumer PCVR headset on the market, and on top of that the Quest 3S just now released and will probably be pretty popular on christmas
VR makes my stomach want to cramp harder than anything else, unfortunately. It's so much fun, but having to swallow hard every ten seconds or so after playing for 15 Minutes just isn't worth it to me.
Sorry but vr gaming is currently in a better state than console gaming they may be more people on consoles but Xbox only really cares about game pass and sony made a pro console instead of releasing more games
I kinda disagree with most of your video. VR is constantly getting bigger, with VRChat being one of the most played games in Steam to this day. I really don't want to make a huge comment, because... Fuck it. I don't want. BUT, I think you should play more of the games and try socializing in VR. As for the price though, I think that's just a really weird thing to say. Quest 2 and 3 are quite cheap and have all (and more) things you need to have an enjoyable time. PSVR2 is famous for its trashy price and the lack of games, but that's just because Sony has some fucked up problems with getting people to develop games. Trust me, you should at least take a deeper look into the Quest, since Valve is nowhere near to relese a new VR. It's an amazing experience if you just get through the initial stage and, specially, if you try more unpopular games
i'm so glad i found someone i can agree with. there was a lot with the video that was just straight up incorrect. he put the psvr2 under the "wireless and affordable" era and also put the apple vision pro there. sure, it's wireless, but far from affordable. As well as putting the index next to the original rift and vive? they released years apart, and are hardly comparable aside from the fact they're all vr headsets. feels like he didn't do the proper research on the topic and just wrote what he thought was correct.
VR is the best thing in gaming since the widespread Atari. Flatscreen games are all getting boring, cookie cutter copies of each other. I can’t go back to pancake games after playing in VR now.

The funny thing is the way you describe video games could also be applied to choose your own adventure books

And even then Asgard’s Wrath relies heavily on 1:1 conversioks of flat screen mechanics and Blade and Sorcery is just VR rogue-like #298
The literal comment I was about to type out🗣️
We got games like this way before blade and sorcery.
A "national fleet of little girls" sounds terrifying.
awesome video. now I wanna go to a VR arcade !!
the funny thing is that valve are going to release a new vr soon, and apparently they also confirmed it
That doesn't help the issue of no games
“Apparently they also confirmed it”

what's wrong with PSVR1? I got it used and cheap but the way you describe it gives me some buyer's remorse...haven't even used it yet lol

oh fs. ive seen meta headsets in store and you can stick your eyes in them but u cant really demo it anymore than that

great video 🌟
Ay bro good vid, super well made. Keep it up mam
Fantastic choice in DK music!! Instant nostalgia
VR is fun for a bit but very quickly you just feel like you’re playing Wii with extra eye damage
I’ve played VR for atleast 5 hours maybe it’s just me
@ i mean like after a month of owning a headset
written like a person whose never worn a vr headset in their life
i dont know man, i still enjoy vr even 5 years into owning headsets (yes im on my second one).
Yeah I found the opposite the more I played the more I get used to it and the more seamless it feels. Main way I play for 4 years now.
thank you youtube algorithm i like this video
"This tastes like ass" "6/10" People are so scared to give anything below a 5, if it's ass give it a 3
you're right. it was more like a 4/10 bc it was still somewhat drinkable
Be careful drinking Faygo, you’ll turn into a Jugglo
too late 🤡

i mean, you totally missed the google cardboard / samsung gear vr & other knock-offs.

vr literally has a bunch of monkey games. and they took echo vr off which is slow
I like the idea of VR but idk, Its all just too overstimulating for me.
yay
VR is fantastic for roleplaying as a furry femboy fox in VRchat, but other than that, well uh... Yeah.
VR is the best thing in gaming since the widespread Atari.
Flatscreen games are all getting boring, cookie cutter copies of each other. I can’t go back to pancake games after playing in VR now.
a good man who is short is one in a million? brutal
lmaoo i think that came out wrong. i meant a good man is one in a million, dont overlook him just bc he's short. love my short kings and queens
