I'm a little late to the game here, but what a great interview! I love Tracy-I had the honor of meeting her recently in NYC for a talk about this book. One of the best books I've ever read and so incredibly exciting that I now own a signed copy of it!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the interview! Did you see her at the Royal Oak event in NYC? I was there too. It was great, wasn't it?

I had often wondered why Elizabeth ended her dynasty, but I like that she knew what she was doing.

I often wonder if, like so many of us today, time simply got away from her. Surely she was aware of what remaining childless meant though.

Just brilliant! I've heard other historians recalling Elizabeth's reign as her distancing herself from Anne. The fact that Tracy has found the opposite through her research is incredible. And as for ending her father's Tudor dynasty- WOW! That makes absolute sense to me. Thank you to Tracy for allowing me to understand so much more about my two favourite ladies of all time, and thank you for making this wonderful video ❤️

Wonderful conversation. I will definitely be getting this book. Elizabeth’s thoughts about and relationship with her mother was always something that fascinated me, but I couldn’t find much out there about it so a whole book will be really interesting.

Tracy Borman is absolutely correct... the fact Elizabeth never carried through with completing Henry VIII's opulent toumb and left him under that slab in that church no one can ever remember. 😂

It's amazing that Ms. Borman stated the theory that perhaps purposely Elizabeth ended the Tudor dynasty in retaliation for the execution of her mother. This has always been my thought. Can't wait to read the book.

Awesome interview! I know that when one is so passionate about an aspect of history, they might feel as if they're almost really there, and then the need to have an impact on the outcome ... so some new fiction from Tracy would be fascinating!!!!

I love your video's and how you put the past into perspective for ordinary people such as myself to understand. I have a favor to ask of yourself, it involves the Tudors but starting from their beginning. I think someone should do a more indebt look into Elizabeth Woodville and I am sure it will be realized that she was not the great woman everyone has been lead to believe. She was conniving, vindictive far from a dutiful wife as Historians have painted her. Why did her first husband not leave his estate to her and their sons? Why didn't Elizabeth go through normal means to get the property back. What happened to her first husband's mother after Elizabeth became Queen, the woman who took what Elizabeth believe should have been hers. In my opinion she spread the lies about Richard and her daughter, She plotted with Margaret Beaufort to wed her daughter to Henry, while she also plotted with Margaret of Burgundy, whom I believe had one or both of the Princes with her, to place her son upon the throne destroying Henry Tudor and her own daughter Elizabeth. I am sure you will see what I am attempting to point out here. She went against the King's wishes after his death, attempting to take the power of regency while her son was a minor. But no one seems to think this wrong, all they go on are the lies spread about Richard III as the villain when I think it was more Elizabeth Woodville then anyone else.

There are some good books that include Elizabeth Woodville, including Sarah Gristwood's Blood Sisters. I will clarify one thing you mention: her first husband would have left his estate to her, but as he was fighting for the Lancastrian side, his lands were seized when Edward IV took the throne.

I think the book of the lineage of Elizabeth mentioning Anne as Henry's first wife was pretty much necessary in terms of presenting Elizabeth as a legitimate daughter of Henry VIII. If Henry was legitimately married to Katherine of Aragon, then his marriage to Anne must be invalid as Katherine was still living when Henry married Anne, and therefore Elizabeth would be a bastard. The book is merely stating what Cranmer ruled and Henry wished in 1533... that he was never legally married to Katherine because she was his brother's widow first. Yes, Henry then went ahead and declared Anne's marriage invalid also, but obviously the book wasn't going to say Jane Seymour was Henry's first wife when it was presented to Elizabeth.

Absolutely. And by the time Elizabeth was on the throne, that was the version that counted.

She was 😊 just as most if not all the Queens and Kings of Europe were until very recently.
As for Elizabeth being a man.. well, stranger things have happened LOL.
