- Pandit Uday Bhawalkar and Awad Pratap Balasaheb perform during the summer solstice, starting at 6am in the morning and carrying us through the break of dawn.
The summer solstice, hosted in Leeds (UK), brings us the sounds of the Indian classical music from dusk till dawn. During this night, internationally acclaimed artists gather to share the music of the mind, body and soul, deeply imbedded in the Raags of sunset, night, dawn and sunrise. We would like to extend our thanks to GNNSJ (Leeds 11) for their hospitality and support.

@@user-db7uf5co6h It is not a copy. It is the parent of both Hindustani and Carnatic music. Dhrupad was believed to predate the split in Indian music that resulted in the creation of two distinct systems of North and South Indian music known as Hindustani and Carnatic respectively. So, in a way, it had a legitimate claim over the Carnatic repertoire.

i never heard this type of art. after seen or heard in shourya movice i am here. in this pandemic working from home and on earph this singing, awesome feeling.
-I am here to know the type of hindustani and carnatic classical music, and started with this Dhrupad music.
-Honestly I don't understand the music but it's soulful.
In every serial like Mahabharat, Ramayana, and Mahadev we usually listen this in background music.

Very sad to see uploader taking the liberty to edit the recital as he wished and taking out major parts of recital. Dhrupad gayaki, particularly Dagarvani - of which Pandit ji is a exponent, develops slowly, before hitting you like an avalanche. These are mere incoherent excerpts.
Also intresting is to see Pandit ji presenting Alap with Pakhawaj. Generally the percussion kicks in when artists move to dhrupad/dhamar section.
