If water has to travel directly to the height then 0.5 HP pump is okay for even two floors height but if water hast to travel too long and with more horizontal travel before reaching height then 1 HP pump is more suitable because it retains more pressure than half HP pump.
But, I tested the 0.5hp and 1hp motor in same situations 1st floor and the pipeline also same dimentions. And result as 1hp motor is effective than 0.5hp.

It is possible, if the diameter of the pipe is small then the pressure can lift the water from 500meters ~1600feet with 1HP water pump. But it is not economical to raise the water in poor efficiency. The formula to calculate the horse power of a water pump is TDH*Q*SG/3690 as 1600*10*1/3690 = 4.3hp needed.

A water pump with no auto-off switch will damage your pipe. Doesn't matter which pump you use as long you have pressure detection on and off switch, which can set how much pressure your water should have. My pump shut off at 3 bar of pressure regardless what kind of water pump i am using.
Yes but still now there is no overheat problem caused by the water pump. Everyday 2-3 hours works perfectly. The Laksmi water pump also worked for past 15years without any issues.

May be you can try with Crompton 1hp motor that would reduce the duration to fill in the tank and increase water flow.

you are missing the back cover of your motor which is causing it to overheat as air is not getting circulated to the fins...
