I have a D13 zircote and a D28. Carrying your D13 around is sort of like bringing your best Martin without actually bringing your best Martin. It's a very good guitar no complaints. Worth the 1400.00
What beautiful, warm, rich, sparkly tone; expertly/superbly demonstrated! Marvelous! I listened several times. Thanks for the free ride! Surprisingly good to the last note; 😊!
Sounds just beautiful. Spoon Phillips does a great job of explaining the key points and then demonstrating the sound of this wonderful instrument. It's amazing that you can get a Martin like this for the money. The tone is better to my ears than anything else around this price point including various solid wood guitars selling for less. It's worth more money for Martin quality and tone easily.🙂
I expect a laminate at this price point but I’m really glad it’s not a soft wood core as has been the historical trend. I really admire the silking on that top.
You know when you listen to music through a little portable boom box or a cheap car stereo? And then you listen to a full blown hi-fi home theater system? Martin is the hi-fi; and it's true of every Martin dread no matter the price.
@@MaurysMusic Yeah, a little fanboy-ish I suppose. But I love what they do to put versatile and good value instruments out there. It's not just about the super high end aspirational guitars or collectors items. I finally got to visit the factory a couple weeks ago. As you know, the inner atrium has the more affordable instruments hanging up there. I thought, "Well these are only the MIM instruments, but I'll grab one to show the kids." I started noodling on a D10E Sapele, and I'm thinking... This sounds great... this feels great... what's not to love about this guitar? MIM or not, I'd have no trouble recommending it to someone. I was duly impressed. I still have my heart set on a (H)D28 in sunburst... someday... but if I were looking to get my feet wet with the Martin brand, it's really hard to beat the Road Series. This Ziricote is another example. Sounds great... no doubt it feels great... it just comes down to the little personality differences.
@@MaurysMusic I played D13e the other day at GC, and picked up a 28 and this one was good enough for the price point to say it had some of the d28 sound
Just bought mine today can’t wait to get it, ty

Thank you, Neil!
Nice bright, clear & loud notes. I like it! 😊
Glad you like it, Phil!
Never settle for less than a solid wood guitar made from a reputable maker.
👍

High praise!

Thanks for the video !
I'd like to know if there is a big difference concerning the quality of the sound between the d10, 12 and 13 ?
You're welcome. Yes they do have different tones/voices.
Spoon…is Kaya wood used on the other Road Series guitars as well?
Yes
reminds me of that Bob Marley song, "Got to have Kaya now" lol
Sounds nice !
Any 00 size Martins with Ziricote ?
Sorry, not at this time.
Is it all solid wood?
Solid spruce top. Solid mahogany back & sides core, with veneers of Ziricote on both the inside and outside of the back & sides.
Sounds allot more expensive than is.
Thanks, A.F.
