Excellent video! I was leaning towards the satin Street Legend but now I'm leaning towards the standard. The overtones you mentioned are a huge difference to my ear. Thanks for comparing the two.
What was that Picking pattern song you were playing at around 11:40 in the video ?, very beautiful , I love to learn that it's so pretty of a progression
great to hear about that. It is "The House Carpenter". A traditional Irish song (as far as I know) as Fingerstyle version. Check out Stuart Ryan, he plays it a hundred times better than me. :)
Thanks for your comment. Both are finished in nitro. But the Satin finish top coat is a different type of nitro laquer. I guess it depends on what sound you prefer or what kind of musical style you play. As a singer/songwriter I appreciate the overtones and complexity of the Standard D-18. If I want to cut through in a band or make flatpicking, the satin finish is good for its dryer sound. I hope that helps. And if you like to purchase one, get in touch. ;-)

Seriously. Thank you for this.
I agree with your assessment of the sound difference… I like both
Very well done. Both visually and aurally. Also, your English is excellent. Good work!
Thank you so much for the positive feedback!

Great comparison. I, too, like the "aged" look, but I already own a D18GE.
Thanks for your feedback! The D-18GE is a great guitar. :)
Thank you. You do great work! @@guitarplaceaschaffenburg465
Thank you! :)
Well done video! And I also prefer the Street Legend
Great job! Thanks!
To me the satin is just a tad livelier - & really excellent!
To my ear, the satin finish sounds clearer, with a more open sound
Yes, that´s right. Due to the Satin finish in produces less overtones and therefore sounds more clear. :)
Is it the same nitro finish just not polished and if you could only have one which one would you get?

What song were you picking?
Hi, it is called "The House Carpenter". It´s a traditional Irish song. This version is for solo acoustic guitar. :)
