before all these tech's came out, i already made homemade scratch remover. i was a kid at the time too. i used to help my friend's dad sand paint off cars - buff with wax after cleaning the car. i learned that wax help cover scratches on cars so it looks new. my first attempt was to use coating on cd's it fail. then i use grinder and applied thin layer of sand paper grid on the side and grind it. first few attempt work because of uneven grinding. kept on doing it with very little pressure and developed craftsmanship and able to perfectly grind it even to remove deep scratches. all my friends didnt believe it. so i asked if they have any games that was scratches that they dont want and they gave it to me. the first game was final fantasy 8 and it i was able to remove it and played that series. i ended up having so much ps1 games that i was able to recovered. only if i had a mindset about business couldve made millions

True older consoles are better on those tv's, or there are video adapters that connect av cables to hdmi on newer flat screens. Basically these adapters connect most older consoles to flat screen tvs.

long time ago, i took my gamecube game that was really scratched into a shop that had a resurfacer. The guy said after he was done with it, it would work like a charm. I get home, put the game in, didn't even start. I took the disk out, looked at it, it was as if the whole disk was just one giant scratch DX
Game boots up..... "IT WORKS PERFECTLY". No, it boots up perfectly. CDs are read from the inside out so you can't say it works perfectly until you play the whole game because I think that some data later in the disc will be unreadable.

Glad you are still using a CRT today, it’s the best way of experiencing old gaming hardware platforms since LCDs have terrible upscaling even manufacturers don’t care about component anymore. My CRT 120hz monitor is part of my multi monitor setup and it serves as to run my Windows 98 Virtual Machine, and component video capture since OBS studio can project full screen to another monitor. Also my LG DVD slim drive can read damaged DVDs but will take a while correcting those errors
Mini-anthrax perhaps the reason why it isn't blurry,is because it's a very old model.newer flat screen tv's will result in blurry picture unless it sets in at 4:3 ratio.
I’d really like there to be a device that creates a new layer of plastic, due to concerns that resurfacing again and again would destroy discs, as well as repairing cracks in the center of discs!
Love how your "fix it" vid turned into a "reaction vid" @ 7:29.....great reaction! You seemed genuinely shocked! I got the "ring" scratch on my COD Black Ops cd, which is how I found this vid.

Ya know what the irony to this video is? When you handle your disc like that, no wonder your discs are going to get scratched, not work, and you'd need a machine like this. He just drops the disc on the tray (not lining it up), the presses down (putting pressure on the disc), and slides it into place. this was a serious issue with the designs of the: PS1, Saturn, GameCube, and Dreamcast that was quickly remedied by Sony and Nintendo with the slot loader. Watch people pull their discs off their gaming shelf and load them. Most times, they pull the disc out squeezing it with their fingers getting prints on them, and just like this guy, drop the disc on the try like you didn't pay $60 for a new game..... NO WONDER PEOPLE HAVE MACHINES LIKE THIS! THEY DONT TAKE CARE OF WHAT THEY HAVE! OH MY GOSH!
I'm a scratch phobe when it comes to audio, dvd and games and that's just the superficial scratches that doesn't interfere with the diode. Never have I had a disc like that one you got there.
Don't feel bad about ruining Madden 07, not one of the better Maddens. LOL! Seriously though this is a nice helpful video. I appreciate it as someone on the fence about purchasing this.
Did it work for you? I've heard mixed reviews about this and it isn't cheap. I wanna play Fable on my Xbox but the game occasionally crashes, it has 3 semi deep scratches on it.
this would be perfect for the games i've have that are too scratched up to play and it would be perfect, when I find cheap games that are too scratched up to play as well.
I had no idea this was even a thing that you could do. I guess I really don't understand how compact discs work. I would love to resurface my copies of Crimson Skies, Morrowind and Turok.
The part of the DvD that is read by the Xbox is sandwiched between two transparent plastic layers to protect the data, all this machine does is sand down that plastic layer until the scratches are gone so it can read the data layer. It kinda works like cleaning a window.
Have you had issues with the center part of the disc being scratched due to tightening the cap too tight, causing scuff marks, now disk can't be recognized. would appreciate help
it mainly happens when i am using the sanding disk, must be doing it up too tight i have since cut out a round microfibre cloth to fit under the cap that screws in and no longer have that issue, but have several disks unreadable due to scuffs on the center bit
Looks like I need this device so I can fix every disc I have , (over 4,000 games on disc since TG16 CD Rom was invented moving forward), and then I will invest in a professional Y Fold re-wrapping machine so I can make them like NOS again. Thank you for this video, as lame as it was to hear "Oh My God" every time you tried it out, that last "Oh My God" near the final minute was worth hearing, and it made my mind up to buy this thing! Good video bro, thanks!
I wouldn't get too excited just yet. ALL optical discs read from the center outward, meaning that you removed all of the scratches from the beginning you quite possibly Not all from the entire disc. A complete gameplay will tell. Another go with the machine may be needed.
This actually isn't the case. The laser starts at the inner section of the disc to collect a small amount of information about the contents of the disc and their location on the disc. It's generally known as the lead-in, and each track on a disc can have it's own lead-in and lead-out for defining multiple sections of a disc. After it reads that, it quickly shifts to the outermost ring of the disc where velocity is highest. The further the data is from the center of the disc, the faster it can be read due to the disc's rotational plane paired with a fixed maximum rotational speed. As the laser is forced to move closer to the center of the disc, the data is read more slowly, which is why developers of games work hard to move the most important data to the outer rings of the discs when making the final masters for their games as part of the optimization process.
Unknown Material he is only Smart normie you should know that old TVs work well with old consoles on btw the original x-box is way better that this new shit
jimmy perkins I have the machine. All you can do with blu ray discs is buff and polish. NO sanding. Sanding removes the coating on the blu ray discs and ruins them. I've ruined several just experimenting. The jfj works well on cds and dvd though.
I would suggest saving your money and do what I've been doing for the past 8 years... use *Meguiar's PlastX* for the minor scratches and polishings and use *Brasso* metal polish on the deeper scratches, following up with PlastX. I have tested pretty much everything recommended to get these scratches out sans buffing and this works like a charm unless you have some serious issues with keeping your discs clean!
You want the coarse sandpaper until the deep scratches are gone. All the following sanding is just to polish the surface not to remove any significant amount of plastic.
Bobby Shmurda You the kid here, even Bobby is younger than I am, kid. Learn to guess other people's ages better.. I actually listen to Bobby's music. Dumbass.. You are a fake. Grow up. ;)
I've always taken care of my discs so i don't have any noticeable scratches at all. But i guess leaving them outside the cover is the worst thing to do. That i have never done.

20% "Let's see if it's working!?" 30% "Gonna try again to see if it's working" 50% "Oh My God Oh My God! No Way! NO WAY!" XD
Other thing too is if scratches are in middle of disk it isn’t going to play due to sensitive data being stored there.
I wouldn't get too excited just yet. ALL optical discs read from the center outward, meaning that you removed all of the scratches from the beginning you quite possibly Not all from the entire disc. A complete gameplay will tell. Another go with the machine may be needed.
I'm thinking at some point in the game (Or if you are doing a movie dvd /audio cd /data disc) ANY scratches on the disc will cause errors.
Correct. My point exactly.
Damn you got a 2001 setup there don't you?😂
Unknown Material he is only Smart normie you should know that old TVs work well with old consoles on btw the original x-box is way better that this new shit
God, “Dude if you aren’t talking to me could you please stop saying my name.”
Ik he could just say oh my goodness
Who is here from 2025 ?
Hi bro... But I am from 2030
@@aroundus5713 😁😁😁
Oh My GOD No WAY No Way
i recommended a friend to pick this up.
he told me it actually works.
Will this work with PS3 games ?
jimmy perkins it will work with any disk
If it’s a disc it will work
Oh, sure. Any disc.
jimmy perkins I have the machine. All you can do with blu ray discs is buff and polish. NO sanding. Sanding removes the coating on the blu ray discs and ruins them. I've ruined several just experimenting. The jfj works well on cds and dvd though.
Ooh my god ooh my god yes
5.11.2019 whos with me??
He’s scared of the EA sports logo
nice i getting one to go dumpster diving at gamestop and the make money out of it.
my thoughts exactly
I never even thought of that :0
They cut discs though don't they? Maybe just some stores, seen videos...
***** Yes some
I was thinking the same damn thing. Except the dumpster diving part.
5 years later: yeah so pretty much
Oh my god 5 years already??? Felt like yesterday that I made this... Time really does fly.
man, i sure do need a machine like this for some of my Wii and PS2 games...
“EA Sports” OHHHHHHH MAAAAAAA GAWWWWWWDDD!!!!!!! OHHHHGG MYYYYY GOOODDD!!! OHHHHH MYYY GOOODDDD!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
I would suggest saving your money and do what I've been doing for the past 8 years... use *Meguiar's PlastX* for the minor scratches and polishings and use *Brasso* metal polish on the deeper scratches, following up with PlastX. I have tested pretty much everything recommended to get these scratches out sans buffing and this works like a charm unless you have some serious issues with keeping your discs clean!
do u have a video where u do it? cause i have some games i want to fix but not wasting alot of money
lets see a video of you proving your statement!

Hey i have some brasso and plastx i should give that a try.
You want the coarse sandpaper until the deep scratches are gone. All the following sanding is just to polish the surface not to remove any significant amount of plastic.
oh My God
Out Wait Never Mind
You are not the real Bobby Shmurda, but I am glad that you are a fan of his music.

1:41 ahhhhh the good old days of playing the wii on a static tv
Will it work on ps1 games?
5:18 face reveal
I've always taken care of my discs so i don't have any noticeable scratches at all. But i guess leaving them outside the cover is the worst thing to do. That i have never done.
sooo u fix scratched disks by scratching them more?...i dont get it
it's not scratching, it's polishing, like Daniel-san =D
+DIFUNTO666 it's not polishing it's scratching.
Ever heard of fighting fire with fire?
It's called resurface..
but doesnt it just dig intothe cd and ruin it further? like...a really big deep scratch. i dont get it, but if it works, then whatever
