I'm in no hurry to get to the end game. I've got all 6 characters. At the end of act one or at the beginning of act two. Just taken my time and enjoying all of them
I am not a huge AArpg fan since I prefer the RPG part far more, however I am giving this one a try to support the dev and just word of mouth. I am 10 hours in and I am loving it. It just feels so good to play and the world is right in my wheelhouse dark fantasy. I would 100% recommend it for those interested in trying this genre. The world and combat just look and feel so good. Hard to explain, just feels right. So happy to support this dev after watching hours of interviews with them.
@ yes I mean I play all types of games 4x/grand strategy crpg, city builders, city builders that are survivoral type games, even a few sports games. My top two games are Crusader Kings 3 and BG3. But I am loving how this game feels and plays. Just feels right. Combat is more deliberate, dark fantasy look and immersive environments.
I do t play many arpgs, hit I decided to try this. I found it to be fun after about two hours. Kind of hard to read the screen in my steam deck, but it worked well. I'll be playing some more tonight. If curious, the only video game I've played in the last five years for more than a few minutes has been BG3.
I have been having so so much fun playing this game. The co-op is SEAMLESS I was very surprised, I’ve also had little to no issues in terms of optimization. Everyone that loves RPGs should play this game
So happy you like this style of game wolf. Younger me (30 years ago) played Diablo 2 and Baldur's gate 1 the same year. Both definitely influenced my gaming path. So happy to see GGG's love of D2 in this game. Brutal, Challenging and Worth your time!
Couple of notes for folks thinking about diving in: It is early access and the Devs are not providing free respecs while they are completely re-working the balance of the game. So be prepared to start over or have your builds broken for a bit. Second (currently) the MTX cosmetics are per character, not account wide; you can move the armor or effects between characters but they are only available for one character at a time. If you get frustrated with classes/abilities being changes, consider waiting for the game to hit release.
For anyone new, as long as you stick in your characters zone, respecing isn't expensive. The only time it becomes an issue is when you try to do exotic builds that require key nodes that are far off. And even then, people are just being hyperbolic with the claims that you have to restart a character. You can just farm lower-level zones or have an alt character that can farm for you since you share a bank unless you're playing SSF.
I enjoyed watching your POE2 live streams. I am enjoying the game and am currently playing a witch and warrior. The major complaint I have is that the loot system is completely broken. Bosses usually only drop gray/blue loot and 99% of the time they are nothing related to your class. The only way to improve your character is to use merchants or just the skill tree. They need to fix loot system to reward the class you are playing and the achievements you make on progress. Diablo loot system is far superior but POE2 is a much better game.
Playing tonight Wolf? Worth mentioning is that the core packs are upgrade able, if you buy "only" the key for 30$ you do get a 30$ discount on the any core supporter pack if you should decide to pick one up later. (same applies for each supporter pack tire) So no need to go straight for a expensive pack if you are uncertain, you will not miss out on the option to get one for the same price total at a later date. MTX currency will always be 10:1$ no mater what you buy.
I've been playing POE2 when I can and been having a great time. I'm at lvl 24 and hit the ascendancy trials. I know I'm probably in the minority but I find this tedious and extremely frustrating. I don't die but constantly run out of honor on the final boss, getting him down to about half health and then you've got to start the whole process over again (usually entering into the boss area with only around 300-350 honor). Perhaps my age has caught with me where I'm slower to respond, but I've watched several guides for strategies and builds but I'm still floundering. If this is the end game it leaves me wondering if I want to continue, which is a shame considering how much I've enjoyed it up to the point.
great vid man, my biggest complaint is a neich one...no zoom in/out on controller...with litreally hundreds of thousands of console and pc gamepad players its very frustrating this was overlooked...seeing you zoom in out made me jealous! :)
I have seen some classes breezing trough bosses .. KOFF KOFF minions .... but as i played warrior .. in few times it was frustrating .... but in the end im happy .. that with warrior .. i got to see all the mechanic of the bosses ... they are so cool
The game is 100% worth it but keep it in mind that it is an early access game. Trials of ascendancy at least for me feels extremely hard and a unfair. I do hope they can tweak a bit but by no means I want an “easier game”. I love the challenging boss fights and everything else. I am sure that by full release this is be one of (maybe the) best ARPGs we have seen.
I am really enjoying the game. It’s harder than most ARPGs, but it’s fair if you build your character well enough. I wish I had the proverbial “streamer’s luck”, though. Every online video seems to show all these near-perfectly rolled weapons and armor pieces. Mine always seem to have more rolls like “+ light radius” or something equally useless.
I imagine the situation like this: GGG: “Hey, Wolfheart, would you kindly do a sponsored video of our game?”. WolfH.: “It’s already done… for two days now”. 😁 On a side note, any plan for streams about other classes?
Can you explain further? I am trying to decide if this game is for me, but I really dont like souls like games as they frustrate the shit out of me! lol!!! Was the dodge/roll mechanic hard to use, etc.?

This game's 'hardcore' mechanics made it a really frustrating game to play as coop. I played this solo on two characters (sorc then witch) finishing all the acts, normal through cruel, and then some, on both, had a great time. I then played with a friend, and I've never felt more frustrated playing a game in coop in recent memory. Getting locked out of maps because either you or your friend died so you're forced to only be allowed on a resetted map (can't join or teleport to friend anymore, tells you you can't join when you die), trials and challenges that punish coop more than solo, because devs decided that coop should simply be a more punishing, frustrating experience, and playing with friends is a bad thing... The game simply forces you to reset challenges and content just because one of you has died, usually from one of many bullshit one shot mechanics, instead of the typical approach of when a team hasn't wiped, then the team hasn't lost. Also, the rate at which the game crashes when playing in coop just really adds to the frustration, but it's all 'early access' so just a warning from my personal experience.
i think later you really need more stash(if its like poe1) but the prices are fair enough and when you played so long that you need them, poe2 deserves the few bucks it will cost imo

It's actually not too bad in POE2! More simplified and has features that make it much easier to navigate. If you are only doing a campaign run you won't even be able to make it far enough in the tree to be confused lol

That said, thanks Wolf!
The skill tree is too much, that is why I stopped playing P.O.E. the first time.
It's actually not too bad in POE2! More simplified and has features that make it much easier to navigate. If you are only doing a campaign run you won't even be able to make it far enough in the tree to be confused lol
Look up a build video. There are a few content creators who have some fun builds. The tree isn't that bad tbh. It's a simple path depending on what class you are
It’s worse than PoE1.
Depends on the type of player you are. I thought POE1 was cool but POE2 feels much more engaging to me.
@ I am the type of player who likes the genre, and PoE2 doesn’t feel like it. And no, it’s not some very weak version of Dark Souls either.
It’s just not feeling right and I don’t get how the combat feels even less impactful than PoE1.
lol easy 30 bucks
Yeah, we know, bro. It's an ARPG. Got it. Next
Did you fart yet?
