Lens used in this video is the 24-70mm F2.8 G-Master from Sony! Curious to hear if you're a fan of using 24-70s for portraits or not? Or are you an 85mm/35mm only?

I think for indoors, unless you have a lot of space, 85mm might not be appropriate, so good to have that versatility. But for outdoor shots, 85mm 1.8 is a really good, and cheap lens to use! 😀

Such a good point, 35mm for indoors is definitely the preferred option!

Great video. I love the shots you got. You have a great eye! Good separation in your photos too of subject and backdrop. Are you shooting manual or auto? Are you using ttl for flash or manual? And was it one light primarily for this shoot? The 24-70mm f2.8 is my go to workhorse lens for every day and everything shoots from weddings, portraits, to street and landscapes. Now I do have a 24mm f1.4 but I use that prime for visual landscaping portraits mostly and night shots.

What is the best distance from subject for each focal length?

Great video and advice! I primarily shoot my portraits at 50mm prime between 1.4 and 2.8 and been considering the 24-70 for more versatility. May go for the Sigma 24-70 to see what focal lengths I like within that range.
