I am obsessed with anything chewy and love mochi and rice cakes! Jicama is also a favourite of mine, so I’m going to have to make this recipe. Thanks for sharing!
Yay, gluten free recipe! Although most of your Viet recipes are, and so delicious! You look so happy to be with your family after so long, what a wholesome video ^_^
I have loved following you because I have never heard of pretty much everything you make! Watching the ads, commenting and liking every video because I gotta support my girl! Hope you’re doing well, Lisa 🧡
Delicious looking recipe!! Can't wait to try. And thanks for sharing your time with your family with us! A lot of the cooking I do is on my own (being vegan) but its nice that you could share with your family :)
Mmmm my mom froze and brought me some of the mini banana leaf-wrapped ones a few weeks after our Cho Tet in Ottawa when she visited me at school and they reheated perfectly in the microwave! My friend loved them so much too 💖
My family aren't much for conversation sometimes so being in person is just so much better than talking haha. I am grateful for tech to allow video calling and stuff but nothing beats cooking together!
Yes! Love banh bot loc! Jealous! At least I can watch you guys make them. Yours look good: mine were always so deformed, but at least they had my auntie and mom laughing their asses off :)
This is one of my favorite dishes! I'm obsessed with all the delicious Viet squishy foods lol. This recipe looks bomb af dude. AND I JUST REALIZED "trần" in Vietnamese recipes means without the banana leaf thing because... they're "naked"?? Or am I trippin. ALSO mad props to you taking the precautions to protect your family. I wish more people would do that... then maybe we wouldn't be in this GOSH DARN COVID mess.
@@Thevietvegan lol that i don't know. I just know in Chinese cuisine we have something really really similar to these...and we steam them in a bamboo steamer. They come out really good too!
Lisa, just so you know that when there's mold on a fruit that means there's mold on the inside of it as well and you shouldn't eat it :< (I know, a bummer :| but safety first)
Lisa! Ty so much for showing you wearing a mask and keeping your family safe! Not enough youtubers/humans are 😔 these look awesome!
Props to you protecting your family!! Those look delicious!! Also-holy shit I’m never this early 😂
Hahah join that notification squad XD Thanks for watching early!
OMG your brother is so tall!!! He remains the sweetest boy i've seen tho! I'm happy you managed to meet up and cook together
Loved this video seeing your mom and brother cooking with you!

Lovely to see you with your family! I will have to make these as soon as I can get the tapioca flour...
Looks scrumptious Lisa!💚
My mom also repurposes a sriracha bottle as an oil bottle. Lol. 🤪

Haha yes naked dumplings!! That's exactly what it is 😂😂
Awe that looks so good! Can I just place an order from you haha!
Hahaha honestly I would love to be making these for a living, it's super therapeutic and satisfying!
Whenever there is a celebration at the temple, someone always makes these 🙂
yeah! they're always such a treat
Your family is so cute 💚
They're pretty adorable
Superb... and family is cool. Even mine. 🤪
The Viet grandma: you can't catch me 🏃
Hi Chi, can we freeze this? I would want to make it in bulk
Yep! Flash freeze on a parchment lined sheet and then once frozen, transfer to an airtight container. Cook straight from frozen, don't need to thaw.
How to store these? Can these be frozen?
your mom is like "you following me, camera guy?"
will you put the sauce recipe in the description?
There is a link to the Nuoc Cham Chay recipe in the description box. It’s delicious
@@kateanderson3560 yay! i'm glad it was added. i can't wait to try this.
Sorry I had forgotten!!
The Viet Vegan I love you even if you forget sometimes. ❤️
wow YUM
Yum!
Are you sure your brother only grew a foot and a half? /i'm joking
i just remember him being tiny.
the dumplings look super good
Haha it could have been even more, he's easily 6 foot something now and he was shorter than me in that video a few years back XD
you should try steaming them.
I think I've had them steamed in the banana leaves, is it that different when they're steamed without the banana leaves?
