    Mmmm my mom froze and brought me some of the mini banana leaf-wrapped ones a few weeks after our Cho Tet in Ottawa when she visited me at school and they reheated perfectly in the microwave! My friend loved them so much too 💖

      My family aren't much for conversation sometimes so being in person is just so much better than talking haha. I am grateful for tech to allow video calling and stuff but nothing beats cooking together!

    This is one of my favorite dishes! I'm obsessed with all the delicious Viet squishy foods lol. This recipe looks bomb af dude.
    AND I JUST REALIZED "trần" in Vietnamese recipes means without the banana leaf thing because... they're "naked"?? Or am I trippin. ALSO mad props to you taking the precautions to protect your family. I wish more people would do that... then maybe we wouldn't be in this GOSH DARN COVID mess.

    • @Thevietvegan

    Hi Chi, can we freeze this? I would want to make it in bulk

    • @Thevietvegan
      @Thevietvegan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep! Flash freeze on a parchment lined sheet and then once frozen, transfer to an airtight container. Cook straight from frozen, don't need to thaw.

    • @Thevietvegan
      @Thevietvegan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think I've had them steamed in the banana leaves, is it that different when they're steamed without the banana leaves?

    • @kendallstone5819
      @kendallstone5819 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Thevietvegan lol that i don't know. I just know in Chinese cuisine we have something really really similar to these...and we steam them in a bamboo steamer. They come out really good too!

    Lisa, just so you know that when there's mold on a fruit that means there's mold on the inside of it as well and you shouldn't eat it :< (I know, a bummer :| but safety first)
