I LOVE YOU, LISA!!! I gotta get mung beans (unless you know of a way to make this with mung bean flour) and make these ASAP! They look ridiculously delicious with that SAWSE!
Just coming back a few years later to say: I've made these SO many times, and EVERY TIME people are blown away. They're so cute, so delicious, and man are they a crowd pleaser. Thank you so much
I love watching you so much! You are one of the reasons why I’m vegan for life now! You make me feel better when I accidentally make mistakes! Thank you so much.
I did go to Marystestkitchen even before I finished watching this video. It is an impressive cooking site and I subscribed ...............now I'm back.
Thanks for taking the time to post these videos. Can't wait to see the video for the vegan Nước Chấm sauce. Also you can see my appearance on Ellen if you want 😁😁😁
Mmmm 🌟💚 They look super tasty. I should make a batch of these, the next time I make mung bean filled sesame balls/pancakes. Gotta maximize the mung bean love and deliciousness. 😘 Thanks for sharing💚
Sorry for being bitchy - I wanna learn from people like you and MTK. I get frustrated when the flow is interrupted. I know it’s not ez. It takes a lot of planning and most of you do this by yourselves for free and are self taught. I APOLOGIZE!!!
The Viet Vegan Cool maybe I will try with 🍌 leaves, I know where to find them near me :) Do you come to Montréal sometimes? We have some bomb vegan restaurants and grocery stores 😎
Yummy! They look amazing! Actually, all your recipes look really good! Seeing your recipes and your enthusiasm inspires me to try new things and create new stuff too! Thank you for being such an inspiration!
Hi Lisa, today is my birthday and you’ve made my favourite food while growing up! My ba ngoai made them when she was alive, so each time my mom and I made them we always think of her. Love your channel and your down to earth personality. Much love💗
omg I'm drooling!! I've been stuck in bed with the flu the last few days and I'm so filled with food envy its ridiculous- I just want to eat some delicious dumplings Dx I am for sure making these as soon as I feel better though! I can't get over how delicious they look. Thanks for sharing the recipe, Lisa! You rock and are such #veganinspo
This looks beyond good. Nice collab! Now if we could get Mary and you in the same video... and umm Kale's sandwich Rawch and Dee, Cheap's Rose, maybe Hot for food's Lauren and even Edgy veg's Candice, all in the same room for a collab, I'd probably die. Yeah, never do that, I'd die. Canada's vegan youtubers are just that good.
I've been sick in Quy Nhon, Vietnam for the last 2-3 weeks, and my appetite hasn't been the best. Thankfully, this video seems to have helped that! Now, I just need to find some dumplings! :D
The "dumpling reaction", it is soon to be famous! It happens when I make Swedish ones too, and like every other person I see eat dumplings like these. Haaahahaha! They are my favourite and very similar to these in the way of making them! These look delish too! Yum! Can you steam them? I thought they were "Sala bao" dumplings (thai) in the beginning of the video! Thanks for a lovely channel!
I'm not going to subscribe to Mary's Test Kitchen because of this video. I can't. I'm already subscribed! Mary is one of my favourite you-tubers. (I have many favourites).
Not true - I love vietnamese food. Actually I love all food, but especially all the foods that originate from the South East Asian area. We get a lot of them here, but not so much of the food available here is vegan. :( My favourite was Steamed Bun with Preserved Chinese Cabbage and Potato Vermicelli, but it's not available any more. So I want to learn how to make it.
OHHH they're called dau xanh because they're green before getting hulled WOW learn something new every day. I guess I never wondered why dau xanh in food was always yellow. NOW I KNOW :D These look amazeballs!!
this looks amazing and I totally want to make it for some of my family members (especially my mom, hates beans but it would be fun to full her and have her love this and then tell her later what it is.. like I did with hummus when I was younger.. bwaaha.. : P)
Also Mary is experimenting with a GF version of her dumpling so be sure to sub to her if you haven't already :) She always works on GF options for y'all
The Viet Vegan I know and I have every bean and pulse used in Indian cooking as well as several other Cuisines around the world. However my mung beans are green because I purchased them to sprout and have fresh Sprouts every week which I do. I have about a pound and a half of fresh Sprouts a week but moong Dal I never thought of to purchase. I even have real c h a n a Dal and black gram or chickpeas and now I'm going to have to get moong Dal. I did just get a hundred packets of G7 Vietnamese coffee for what it's worth to anybody! Hahaha! I really like it a lot and I am a brewed coffee person. :-)
you were saying you could flatten it or roll it, but that the dough was too sticky to roll. Were you talking about your dough or the rice flour dough in general?
LMAO yeah this recipe is a pretty oily one. Although when you're eating it, it doesn't taste that rich. It mostly functions as a lubricant and flavour enhancer XD
Looks amazing, i am a very experienced cook, the dough was unworkable to make a seal and you never show us how that's done, I had to call it and make something else
I'm sorry you had a bad experience. This recipe has been on my site for a couple years and many people have made it. You just sort of patch the ends together and pinch off excess and smooth it out.
If you're eating oriental(?) east-ish(?) vegan (trying to avoid the "A" word 'because i still do remember what you've said once about that:/) and you don't know theVietVegan nor MaryTestKitchen.. you're wasting your life out.
The Viet Vegan Yeah, but since you were talking there's no such thing (excuse me if i'm misquoting:) as _asian_ - well maybe better words would be: we have japanese, korean, vietnam cuisine etc. But putting them all in the one basket seems like an act of ignorance;p Or at least that. And i thought 'damn, she's right. I love the cuisine, respect the people and never would any Asian to feel uncomfortable with what i'm saying:/ But hey..i don't want to sound to serious:) Peace out
I LOVE YOU, LISA!!!
I gotta get mung beans (unless you know of a way to make this with mung bean flour) and make these ASAP! They look ridiculously delicious with that SAWSE!
mmmm I'm sure you could make it with mung bean flour. It'd be like...really SMOOTH though haha
I have mung bean flour - I was thinking using it with a bit of mashed chickpeas (which I also already have).
Really Love your channel! So Happy Mary's Test Kitchen sent us over! Subscribing for sure! PS LOVE the Sailor Moon on the window!
Thank you so much.
hahahaha everyone makes mistakes!! They just don't like to show it on camera ;) so happy to hear that I helped you along your vegan journey
These are so interesting. If you fry these (probably with a different dough) it would almost be an Indian savory snack!
I love Mary tooooo! Excited to see you guys collaborating 💚
Just tried this recipe, but with no oil. Still a success!
Thanks a lot for the recipe!!
I did go to Marystestkitchen even before I finished watching this video. It is an impressive cooking site and I subscribed ...............now I'm back.
I enjoy watching you eat your childhood foods... you are so cute! This looks beautiful!
This is my fav viet treat! My mother in law used to make them for me wish mushrooms and that’s a yummy vegan option too.
Looks good and versatile! GF! Thank you!
OK, fucking love you chick. Seriously excited about this one. And thank you for veganizing the sauce. Can't wait
Naked little cakes 😂💖 They look sooo chewy and yummy. I love that texture.
THEY'RE SO GOOD
The look and gummy texture of these dumplings make they very appealing to me. I will be trying to make some soon.
sooooo chewyyyy
Thanks for taking the time to post these videos. Can't wait to see the video for the vegan Nước Chấm sauce. Also you can see my appearance on Ellen if you want 😁😁😁
I just discovered you, and I’m so happy I did!! Subscribed! And I’m gonna make these dumplings this week for sure 😋
Onion oil is such good idea not only for this recipe but it can be used in variety of dishes 😀
Looks so bomb! I am salivating. I actually think I can make this 😍
OMG!! YESSSS I love dumplings so much
great recipe, this reminds me of an amazing vegan vietnamese restaurant in Berlin, Quo Nguyen I think, they have a similar dish - keep it up
Mmmm 🌟💚 They look super tasty. I should make a batch of these, the next time I make mung bean filled sesame balls/pancakes. Gotta maximize the mung bean love and deliciousness. 😘 Thanks for sharing💚
Ok, between you and Mary - my family is eating Asian for the next month. LOL Maybe not the whole month, but a good chunk of it, :)
girl these look so good my g

Sorry for being bitchy - I wanna learn from people like you and MTK. I get frustrated when the flow is interrupted. I know it’s not ez. It takes a lot of planning and most of you do this by yourselves for free and are self taught. I APOLOGIZE!!!
Mmm yes! I so needed this. 😋 I’m so making this. I needed a vegan dumpling. Can you please make a video w/ mung bean sesame balls? Thanks!!!
I didn't think they were that simple to make :o Thank you!!!
So easy! Just takes a little time. It's way easier like this than to use the banana leaf IMO haha. But the banana leaf makes it super tasty too XD
The Viet Vegan Cool maybe I will try with 🍌 leaves, I know where to find them near me :) Do you come to Montréal sometimes? We have some bomb vegan restaurants and grocery stores 😎
These look amazing Lisa- definitely going to try this. x
Yummm! We are going to try these!!

Haha I can't control myself when I'm hungry and have delicious food XD
Yummy! They look amazing! Actually, all your recipes look really good!
Seeing your recipes and your enthusiasm inspires me to try new things and create new stuff too! Thank you for being such an inspiration!
+
Made this a long time ago and they’re AMAZING.
Definitely going to make this! I have a lot of rice flour leftover from making kimchi and this is the perfect recipe to use it up! Thanks a lot💕🌈
You have to use glutinous rice flour and not regular rice flour (sticky rice flour will achieve this chewy bouncy texture)
The Viet Vegan damn it😑 thanks for pointing it out!🤭😅
Hi Lisa, today is my birthday and you’ve made my favourite food while growing up! My ba ngoai made them when she was alive, so each time my mom and I made them we always think of her. Love your channel and your down to earth personality. Much love💗

These look amazing! And that nuoc mam drizzle took it to the next level.
the nuoc mam is what takes this dish to FLAVOURTOWNNNN
Lisa you know all the best routes to Flavortown.
omg I'm drooling!! I think i need to make this! Thank you!

These look awesome!
i follow both already since a while but i like those collab videos to be honest (:
these look so good!
I've been sick in Quy Nhon, Vietnam for the last 2-3 weeks, and my appetite hasn't been the best. Thankfully, this video seems to have helped that! Now, I just need to find some dumplings! :D
"Classic Lisa". lol These look amazing!
Yum!!! I am addicted to that chewy savory flavor. Seems so simple but I am still scared to tackle it....please send some to me!!
That looks so Yummy!! I recently went vegan and I am looking for recipes can't wait to make this.👍❤❤❤
I'm not going to subscribe to Mary's Test Kitchen because of this video. I can't. I'm already subscribed! Mary is one of my favourite you-tubers. (I have many favourites).
well you are WISE and i have nothing else to teach you
Not true - I love vietnamese food. Actually I love all food, but especially all the foods that originate from the South East Asian area. I love this!
you're using gloves! GENIUS
i haaaate dealing with doughs cause they stick to hands
Im from Mary's Channel! I sub to your channel. I am slowly transitioning to vegan!

I just bought a big bag of mung beans. I know what I'm making!
Thanku
OHHH they're called dau xanh because they're green before getting hulled WOW learn something new every day. I guess I never wondered why dau xanh in food was always yellow. NOW I KNOW :D These look amazeballs!!
Hahhaha yeah I was always confused by that too XD
Good work
hello viet vegan!! new subscriber here. love your channel 💜💜
Hi hiiii thank you for subscribing ^_^
food makes me excited 😍😆
I love Mary! I just watched her make the crystal dumplings. You should read my comment to her! Lol :-)
Feel free to send me some. Lol they look so yummy! 💜
Hellz yeah trying this one. After trip to Asian market. 😂😁😁😁😁😁
Why do I watch this shit when I am already hungry?! This looks sooo good!
This is me when i'm on the internet always
So do you take the mung bean skin out by hand before cooking ?! This looks so delicioisnd flavorful
No no they're like split peas, they are sold like this
yuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
What kind of substitutes could I use for Asian ingredients? I don't live anywhere near a store that sells a lot of the yummy things you talk about.
Unfortunately both glutinous rice flour and mung beans are essential to this recipe to be what it is :(
Hey Lisa could you a a vegan recipe on bánh bèo? One of my favorite snacks that I miss now that I am vegan :(((
this looks amazing and I totally want to make it for some of my family members (especially my mom, hates beans but it would be fun to full her and have her love this and then tell her later what it is.. like I did with hummus when I was younger.. bwaaha.. : P)
Could you do a gluten free vegetable dumplings video? I was diagnosed coeliacs in July last year and have been massively craving them ever since haha
Actually this dumpling is GF! Use braggs instead of soy sauce for the nuoc mam and you got yerself a GF dumplin.
The Viet Vegan thankyou 💜
Also Mary is experimenting with a GF version of her dumpling so be sure to sub to her if you haven't already :) She always works on GF options for y'all
I only have green! And I have every other Bean pulse and grain known to man! But no peeled mung beans. :-)
It is common in Indian cuisine as moong dal
Any suggestions on how to meal prep these? I've tried freezing them and the boiling and they sorta fall apart
Oooh... WHO.. is that snaaaazy woman in that profile picture...? YOU KNOW ITS YOUR VIET VEGAN.
How do these reheat? Do they do well in microwave? Or is stovetop preferred?
Microwave is fine!
Blur! What a fast response! Thank you!
Lisa please do those desserts with the ginger sauce! i can't remember what theyre called but theyre like the sweet version of this?
Ya its super similar to this i can add it to my list lol
It’s Che troi nuoc!!!!! I loved those!!!
It’s Che troi nuoc!!!!! I loved those!!!
Linda Nguyen thanks for the name! Yes they’re the perfect amount of sweetness without over doing it and I love ginger :)
Can you prepare these the day before?
I would cook the day before, and you can microwave or resteam on a platter to reheat
I need all the Sailor Moon 😍
subed
MOre vietnamese videos pleaseee
My last four were all Viet related!! Lol
Yeah, I'm always so pumped about this type of video because I can make it for my Viet family. They eat like vegan twice a month
you were saying you could flatten it or roll it, but that the dough was too sticky to roll. Were you talking about your dough or the rice flour dough in general?
Low fat vegans : nooooo! 😱
LMAO yeah this recipe is a pretty oily one. Although when you're eating it, it doesn't taste that rich. It mostly functions as a lubricant and flavour enhancer XD
You are vegan and you are THAT SIZE!!!
What does that even mean?
these look wonderful. wish i could try them but all that oil would make me ill. *sigh*
The Viet Vegan thanks for the reply, im not upset anymore, but I'm still not sure how you work this dough without it tearing apart
It tears a little but because its so malleable you just sort of patch them up closed :) Adding a little oil to your hands helps from sticking too.
If you're eating oriental(?) east-ish(?) vegan (trying to avoid the "A" word 'because i still do remember what you've said once about that:/) and you don't know theVietVegan nor MaryTestKitchen.. you're wasting your life out.
Lol i dont have a problem with Asian food if its actually Asian
The Viet Vegan Yeah, but since you were talking there's no such thing (excuse me if i'm misquoting:) as _asian_ - well maybe better words would be: we have japanese, korean, vietnam cuisine etc. But putting them all in the one basket seems like an act of ignorance;p Or at least that. And i thought 'damn, she's right. I love the cuisine, respect the people and never would any Asian to feel uncomfortable with what i'm saying:/ But hey..i don't want to sound to serious:) Peace out
Lisa, plz adopt me :((
🙄
I don't know what this means ._.
The Viet Vegan it is a happy face emoji. I was excited you posted a new video! Your food always looks delicious!
Hahah okay, on my computer it shows up as an eyeroll so I was worried lol
Oh man, so sorry. Totally didn't mean it in a bad way!
