Hey dude and dudette, just trying my luck with the set net and drag net as another avenue for feeding the family, loved this one! Good and informative..
Yea!.. so I am sorry to let ya know that the flounder was so golden and sticky and delicious that we completely forgot to film anything until after id demolished half the fish. I'll be more diligent in the future. Cheers mate
Yea... We're goin to have to film that part next time... What happened was when the golden delicious fillets came out of the smoker we completely forgot to record a thing. I had mullet fat from my forehead to my chin
What's the harbour mullet like to eat fried. I see rag net for them on n the west coast so sea mullet and they are absolutely delicious pan fried I prefer over snapper
Good to see vid's on this. Ive been wanting to get into mullet netting for the smoker but dont have any idea whats the best way to do it, where or when, so thx. What time of year was it? Do you set parallel with the waters/mangroves edge or at right angles? Or doesnt it matter? Good to know about the wind - wierd tho A?
I tend to set 90 degrees to the Mangrove edge or shoreline but that's just generally. lots of trial and error finding those mint spots. Me and Ju have just been talking about making a net setting how to vid. We will get onto that soon. Cheers mate tight lines
Yea I've been trying recently to catch Grey Mullet on a fishing line using bread as berly and bait... So far I haven't caught a sausage but ill keep trying

How long was the net

How long do you leave your net out for mate?
It depends alot on where I set but usually 3 to 4 hours is enough to catch a good feed. I keep a close eye on it because sometimes it fill up quickly

I like your net bin, where can I get on of those?
I made it out of an old mussel float
