I got the Q3 43 and I use it every day. I love my Q3 28, but 28mm is a focal length I don't use nearly as often as 35 and 50. The 43 is perfect mid point between 35 and 50. I also went back to meta data and my most used focal length is 44mm.
I didn't fully appreciate the 28mm of the Q2 until it was gone and now I miss it. Enjoying the Q3 43 focal length more of the time though. The Q2 buttons felt better and I think MF was smoother. Sold all my gear to get the 43: one camera solution...might add a GRiii, so it begins again.
On the other hand. I just took my Q3(28mm) all over Europe and kept saying "This isn't wide enough. I need to get more information into my shot". Spent a lot of time backing up. To each, his own. I have always been a "Wide" shooter.
Ordered my 43 yesterday. Off to Europe early next year for 6 weeks. This will replace my A7rv 35 and 50 for the trip. But.... will I take the Sony with 20 and 85 as well? Hmmmm.
Bought the q3 and q2 monochrome at the same time, then swapped the q3 for the q2 Disney limited edition which I will always keep. Then sold the q2 monochrome and bought the sl2 s reporter. Then got a good deal on a used sl2. Talk about GAS. But then I agree with you that instead of rushing out to buy the 43, wait till Leica bring out their special edition. Having a collection of only special edition leica bodies sounds like a great idea. Also can you please do a video on cleaning a camera body sensor
I think a special edition Q3 43 would be fantastic. Good suggestion re video on cleaning the sensor. I had to do that on my last Central Australia trip. I will do one for the Leica M and SL.
I have the Q2 Mono and the Q2 Reporter, which I love. But 28mm almost always gets cropped, sometimes severely. I have been anxious to get my hands on a Q3 43 because of the longer lens. Yesterday Leica called and said they have a Q3 43, if I want to buy it. I jumped. I really think the 43mm lens will make this camera much more useful to me. I can hardly wait for its arrival. Will I get rid of the two Q2s? That will be hard! Maybe.
Sounds like a great upgrade. I know how you feel. The Q2 Mono and the Reporter are unique. If budget allows, I would keep both. Chances are the resale price will stay steady so the sell option will always be there if needed.
I have no doubt you’re going to get the 43. Have a look at this video and you’ll find out it’s mainly talk about your collection and how much you have. Give it a thought. No offense intended.
Smart to keep the reporter, I sold mine and I miss it.
I find it hard to sell my old cameras. Always a sucker for new tech.

Thanks for commenting. Interesting info going back to meta data and noting 44mm as your ideal focal length.

I sold my Q2 a couple of years ago as 28mm just wasn’t my go to focal length, but I do already have the Q3 43 and absolutely love it! More my thing!

I had a Q2 as well but didn’t like the 28mm and I sold it. I’m v curious out the 43mm. Defo more my thing.

Enjoy your trip and thanks for watching.
I am still on the M246 Monochrome and very happy with it. As for the Q43 , well I don't think so.
I'm glad you're happy with your M Monochrome.
@@Adventure8 yes I don't see the need to upgrade. The M11D however is knocking on my door ... Hahah

Appreciate the feedback.
They announce the q3 43, but no where to get it.
Good luck
