    The non-compliant break rule is kind of stupid. Make two balls and spread the remainder, yet your opponent gets to shoot next because of the headstring. Huh?

      Totally agree! J.B. had some great non-compliant breaks! At least change the compliance rule from three points to two points, it would retain the overall reasoning for the rule, without unduly penalizing a lighter breaker.

    If Jenn doesn't get penalized, I don't think this match would've been this close. The non compliant break, giving her opponent first shot on the table was a disadvantage. She was pocketing 1-3 balls consistently on her break! Joe on the other hand struggled with his break. Also, how does the announcer NOT know who Jennifer Barretta is, really? High ranked WPBA player that's been around for years, acts like she's never been on tv.

      @@rabihavi8062 Yes, that is a serious win! Again though, lesser players beat better players not that infrequently, just not even CLOSE to the majority of times. She played a pretty darn fine match here...it would probably take a few male pros on their worst days, but probably not on their average days, and most certainly not on their best, at least the upper echelon guys. I've seen accu-stats running over .900 on several male players lately in matches...that is not going to be beaten by the level of play here. And I don't know how many male or female pros play the pro am Predator tour stops. What I do know is if you go look at the world ratings she is nowhere to be found in the first 50 or so I read down through. Again, maybe she doesn't play those tourneys enough, and if you don't play them often you don't accrue many points,no matter how good you are.

    I'm happy to see a female player winning a match. Most vids show a female player losing. But the reality is thatvthey can play as well as everybody else. But they have to overcome so many male players.....making it almost impossible. Same in so many sports.... Really would like to see more diversty. Keep it up Jennifer and show many girls how it is done and don't be discouraged by so many "negative/byassed" video's.

    • @MrJdsenior
      @MrJdsenior 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      What are you talking about? They have to overcome the same amount of male players as every male in the match. They don't play as well, typically, not even close, actually. She wasn't exactly playing an SVB, Busty, Duel, or Pagulayan level player here. She definitely played the better match here. Let's just stick to reality a bit, though. If female players played as well as men they would win men's tournaments as often as the top males, and there are exactly zero female players out there that have EVER done that at a pro level. Saying something doesn't make it true, you kind of have to look at the data for that, the truth I mean.

    • @radkomajercik1769
      @radkomajercik1769 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @scottbranson7872
      @scottbranson7872 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You know, if your sentiment and opinion was actually true, I'd agree. Simeng Chen can ball....there's a few others. But have you ever watched a female tournament?

    • @MrJdsenior
      @MrJdsenior 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@scottbranson7872 The Chinese are currently producing some amazing pool players of both sexes, no question. I predict they will be the next 'Filipinos' of pool.
      It is not surprising though, since, like the Soviets used to do for the Olympics, they are identifying children that show extreme talent for the game and training them up in serious schools at a young age.
      I would not doubt for a second that on a best day/worst day scenario Chen (and a few others) could beat many of the middle American pros and very occasionally even a top one, but it takes nothing more than looking at previous tournament outcomes to prove it happens almost never (has it ever?).
      I don't know when this current environment has developed where people somehow feel that what they 'think', when backed by nothing, as with the original commenter means ANYTHING. It is downright weird, and I get damned tired of it.
      The strangest part of ALL of it is I have no idea WHY it is true. It seems to me if there is a physical game on Earth that females should be able to compete on a level playing field with men, one of those would be pool.
      Other than the break, and even there, since most male pros don't break at even close to their max speed, they don't seem at any physical disadvantage.
      I have heard it said (I should research it) that women's spatial capabilities test lower than men's (there are obviously several areas where women test higher, before all the feminists jump in and cry 'fowl'), and that is one supposed difference that might explain some of it.
      It is certainly not a lack of skill. If you look at Jennifer's or someone like Allison Fischer's stroke, they are beautifully mechanical, repeatable, and I don't see where they lack in route plotting skills (A pro might, but I don't, as ANY pros skills are light years beyond mine) or general thinking. On some strokes which are SERIOUSLY powered up, I think there is some definite difference. I don't see Jennifer doing REALLY extreme draws, especially from challenged cuing positions, as an example, like some of the top male pros accomplish.
      Jennifer, here, even though Korsiak set some nice safeties, played an excellent strategic game, I thought. I'm still at a loss as to why the gap occurs, and why it is so large. At my level, I'm certainly not going to denigrate the game of women pros, ANY of them would slaughter me, but I can most definitely see a difference in level of play, as you say, even without seeing them play one another. My guess is a top woman pro against almost all male amateurs, though, would most times be a route, with the women pros coming out seriously on top. And I'm not talking about top level amateurs in the Fillipines that make their living at it, I'm talking about 99.5% of the amateurs in the US and Europe. Don't know that for a fact, but it is my guess.
      Like I said, I really don't get most of why the difference, anyone feel free to jump in and maybe point out some other real differences. I do know one other thing, and that is when Jennifer and some other female pros are playing, I definitely learn things watching, and they play some really excellent matches.

      To be honest, I would like to see people be able to break however they truly want. I love that Shane puts hours in perfecting a hard usable break just as much as I like that Corey Deuel puts hours in perfecting soft breaks.
