Riding a R1150r for 15 years now I remember my first months on this bike, constantly honking when intending to to switch off the indicator. You get used to it :) btw, the telelever suspension was one of the reasons I wanted a BMW
I Another great vid! I don’t like the new overpriced high tech BM’s but I loved my old R850. I owned it for 10 years and preferred the more retro styling of the early model. The more you ride then the better they get! 😊
I like the idea of the front suspension but have never ridden one. I have to admit that the air heads that I have ridden made my feet feel claustrophobic being that close to the cylinders.
Was ok we felt Definitely not as enjoyable to ride as a Guzzi we felt and the seat is rather on the firm side But very capable and shaft drive is always a bonus
@@bikerdood1100 I see. Did you try to ride a bit when it appeared on the dash? I mean how many km/miles you have left when it is already on? Thanks bro.
Oh I see To be honest we didn’t push our luck with because BMW have a rep for not leaving too much margin. It did go 20-30k I think. Tank range overall was pretty good despite it being used by Tom in France, he’s young and can have a heavy right wrist. We hit saw around the 300k mark Relying on memory a little because it was last summer
@@bikerdood1100 I see. 300 km are easy reachable and on the reserve I believe you still get about 40 km in my opinion. :) Do you have a video about adjusting the seat on the previous model?
Well loved the vid… surprisingly it puts 73hp and 78nm in reality. Its a bulletproof bike. Just plug the irridium sparkplugs in it and it will come alive under 2000rpm👍 You cant compare a 2003 bike with 2010, in that case you have to compare the R1200r..
Better than a Guzzi, I don't think so? .... well Guzzi don't drop gearboxes, final drives, input shafts, clutch plates, misaligned trannies, ABS issues, surging EFI, Hall sensors, cam chains, chocolate cams n followers...yeah bar all that those boxers are bombproof compared to a Guzzi😂

We had he thing for 6months so got used to it but didn’t like it
Dam silly
I Never said i like it :)
I had an r850r the best bike i have ever owned certainly the most comfortable
Good sitting position for sure
The seat was on the firm side
We felt at least
Nice bike I'd say. Seems to ride and handle nice. I could see myself owning one of those. Thanks for sharing. Ride safe all and take care. Cheers
Thanks for the comment
Not a bad bike at all we found
I love Guzzis but my ratty R850R is the sweetest handling bike I’ve ever ridden.
I like the styling of both models, but as an Airhead fan I'll stick with my old R80. 170,000 on the clock and still going strong!
Well done you 👍🏻

It is a simple straightforward beast
I wonder if all first gen models had the adjustable seat. :) Great bike. I am getting one.
The seat height on the last version may not be adjustable but there was a midway restyle that retained the feature (early-mid 2000s)
Don’t know why it was deleted in the first instance really
I ride R1150R and i love him so much. So comfortable . In 12 days i ride 4000km . Greetings to boxer lovers.
Managed further than that on a Cb500x 😂
1995 r850r in one Day Amsterdam - Luxembourg- strazbourg- Amsterdam ( 1142 km ❤)
An exelent centerstand, and no chain to maintain... ;o) Fine bike.
A smart choice no doubt

It does I agree
Great Video, great bike, I own one and absolutely love the machine.

Great video. Enjoyed. If I got it right, it has the low fuel light on the dash. I am getting one.
That’s right
Don’t really know why they fitted a clock
A fuel gauge would have been more useful we thought

mantap, sehat selalu dari indonesia
Thank you 🙏
If people like this bike, go ride a Breva 11 or 12...........yum...... 🙂
I do
Quite right, sensible chap!!😅........but I did mean every one, anyone else, lol!@@bikerdood1100
@@lauriebloggs8391 well wanted to get in early before someone slagged off my beloved Guzzi
That would only be out of ignorance, lol!!
Me too with my Norge.......until someone wrote it off 😞@@bikerdood1100
Absolutemente
A BMW is always better than a guzzi.
R850R from 2004 with 49.000 kilometers.
Er that’s a big No
We found it after poor by comparison
We don’t say a bike is better just because it’s German 🙄
Windshield RIDICULOUS ** NICE bike tho
It’s a bit weird and sort of works

That’s why we have a Guzzi each
Clutch is a pain to chain though
Not to mention the wiring what decays and the rubbish springs....

You forgot somehow lacking in character too
Must do a comparison video with my Breva
No way!
Way 😂
Way
Or not depends what you mean ?
Better than a CARC Guzzi the
No way would be right
At Least that’s what we found over 6months
