On the video you say ps4 pro runs at 1260p, in description 1620p, who is the correct?
Not bad for PS4 hardware considering it's an 11 year old console by now, it's still pretty cool to see that many recent games still run at native 1080p on it.
I expected native 4K on the PS4 Pro especially since it runs at 30fps, but 1620p is far from bad, it's even much higher than the Xbox Series S version that runs at just 1080p and the visuals between the two seem to be well on par. (and both do not have ray-tracing in the game, unlike the PC/PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, which make good use of this feature for reflections)
I think the pro could do better than that, persona 5 royal runs in 4k on ps4 pro, and graphics don't look much different from p3r

The fact that you can see your reflection in the mirror ONLY on the PS5 version is very telling! Also, thanks for the description comparing the three versions.
It's because ps4 doesn't support ray traced.
@@Direwoof Pretty sure that they could've done the reflections without the RT stuff like in the good old days, but I guess they just didn't wanna bother.
I'm enjoying this game so much on my old, fat model PS4. I'm glad that it came with PS5 compatibility included, so that I can replay it once I acquire a PS5.
Played P3 Portable years ago, can't wait to see everything in full 3D.

Playstation 4 is able to run more demanding games ; even the next Game which i am awaiting on Playstation 5, Banishers Ghost of New Eden ( and i think it was possible for it to run on Ps4, same as Gotham Knight which was exclusive to current gen consoles ) ..
I have à doubt as for Final Fantasy XVI though ? Do you think it could have run on Ps4 ? I thought it was a good looking game but not à great looking one graphic wise.

The latest update is a MASSIVE downgrade in visuals. I don't understand how no-one saw this.
Everything is flickering again like the PS4 version, Character outlines, fishing docks, trees, city buildings that have horizontal lines. -_-
Can you guys recount the pixels for us or explain what is happening?
Example --->I installed just the PS5 Disc version 1.0 Didn't Update the game at all, turned off wifi and everything is perfect, no shimmering , no flickering on docks, trees, city buildings, character outlines.
Installed the 1.020 update, Now there is shimmering and flickering again in-game on all those things.
I really feel like they either turned off TAA, or dropped the resolution on the update.
Despite age of the ps4 hardware it is still viable system. As long as the switch exists we are going to see a lot of games available for all platforms.
Unfortunately, the devs have something else in mind, despite sooo many users still active on PS4.
I mean, Mortal Kombat 1 is a great example, they put it on Switch, but not on PS4.

You probably know by now but putting this here for posterity, buying the PS4 version, even on disc, gives you the PS5 upgrade for free.

Persona 3 is an awesome game, it's got a fantastic cast of characters and brilliant story BUT if it's first entry in the Persona series... P5R is generally considered to be easier to dive into. Reload is awesome if you don't mind a bit of challenge.

Yeah. It's not a very graphically advanced game. Tbh Persona 5 looks better on PS3 than this game does on PS5. Think it has something to do with the engine.

@@qwerttzizzi I mean it's not bad it just lacks the style of Persona 5. It looks like an old game up-ressed. It may have been intentional to not overdo it since this is an older game after all.
Even if you don’t think it looks advanced, it’s pushing the PS5 to the max. I can literally hear my fans changing speed as I switch between the menus and the main game. Also because this is running at a full 60fps in 4K with ray tracing, which P5R doesn’t have.

I think it's interesting because I'm sure as hell both the Ps4 and PS4 Pro can get 60fps.
Considering I'm testing this game on PC, so far, I noticed the game have too few options for you to mess around and enhance your gameplay based on hardware. which just shows how little Atlus is trying to make their code work good on older hardware. =O
Fr, persona 5 could've had a 60fps update on ps4 but they just did that at a full price tag for ps5

2024 and we still get games on 11 year old machine. In one hand it's good cause not many people own PS5 or Series and you get to experience the game.
On the other hand though the game suffers massive downgrade in visuals and gameplay. It depends on the game of course. For example you can't have Rift Apart played on PS4 cause the game heavily relies on SSD during traversal.
I said a year ago hopefully that we won't see any games released on last gen, cause i assumed it's been 10 years since they've been released but no we still getting releases. I think that they'll quit supporting last gen during the end of PS5/Series lifecycle which is 2028

Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, The last of Us Part 2, etc?
1 - They look and run amazingly on a Base PS4.
2 - TLOU-2 literally looks the SAME on PS5 re-release.
3 - PS4 still has 70% of the user base there, that means a LOT less money coming to the platform.
4 - Unity and Unreal Engines literally allow you to EXPORT your game to any platform you want, all you need to do is literally disable a few features, the same way as if you have a PC game (In this case P3R) you can Tone down the Graphics to make it run on your machine. So, again: What they literally do is DISABLE a few features you would have to disable on your PC copy if you had let's say a Ryzen 5 1600 + GTX 1060 6GB + 16GB RAM combo on your PC. But instead of allowing the Console user to do it manually they do it for you. A game being exported and released for PS4 does not change the fact it would look exactly the same if only released for PS5. Textures can be toned down, reflections can be turned off, and people can still experience an incredible gameplay without worrying they have to choose between buying the most expensive stuff (because yes, the PS5 is extremelly expensive on a LOT of countries), or just enjoying a good game with lower settings.
5 - Sony will ONLY stop production for PS4 once the PS5 becomes 50-55% of the userbase, right now it's only 30%.
So yeah, being unhappy because "better games are not being released" on PS5 "because of old gen" is just so downright dumb, it just shows how little gamers actually know about Game Developing. And I can even understand you guys being a bit upset because a game like Horizon Forbidden West had to split the team in two to port the game to PS4, because YES it's a very intensive game graphically, but for Persona? In this engine? It would surprise me if you can't run this game on PS4. I'm ok with FFXVI not going to PS4 because Square is lazy, but they could release it if they wanted it. The truth is: If a game can be run on a basic PC with similar specs of a PS4, it can run on a PS4, and if there's money there, it will be released there.
Frankly I'm glad it is. It means I can own the physical media of the game on my PS4, instead of paying the same money on Digital on PC. :)
So yeah, just stop thinking that games being released multiplatform is trampering their quality. A game is made with the maximum graphics first, then the devs create lower textures to allow the game to be exported to older platforms, it's very rare for developers to spend more than 13% of their workforce for making sure the game runs on older hardware.
@@advmx3 ok i got it and yes I've played GoW , Horizon and 2 Persona games on a friend's PS4.But do you agree that we still need games on PS4/XB1 when PS6 is released or even way beyond that? I also highly believe aside that the player base who owns 70% old gen was because of the pandemic, the chip shortage and the lack of fresh new games on PS5 were the main reasons we still get PS4 releases. Many PS5 games are either from an existing IP either as an exclusive or not and very little brand new IP's.

So far I know most Americans have a PS5 already and the same could be said for Europe, but the rest of the world, developing countries too, they are all stuck on PS4 because a PS5 is being charged more than a full kitchen. :)
