    Great instructions with some good tips like that bottom fan shroud part comes off. Replaced the hoses too. Since the skid plate was off for this did oil and filter at same time. Bought my 2000 Tundra new and it still runs like a champ. Thanks.

    Thank you so much! This helped tremendously when installing my new radiator. Can you tell me the difference between the coolant temp sensor and the thermostat? I'm thinking I should have replaced the thermostat as well 🤔

    Appreciate your video. My 2002 Tundra's radiator just broken the neck on the top where the hose conect to it and I have to replace the new radiator. My question to you is where did you get the coolant hose ( the big ones on the top and bottom one ) ? Just don't want to pay too much to buy it from the Toyota dealer. Thanks

    Our trusty 2001 Tundra V8 gas about 220K miles and is perfect. The radiator is original. Would you replace it as a precaution? Thanks in advance!

    You should realllllly add to use a Mishimoto radiator that prevents the transmission fluid from mixing with the radiator fluid. Unless of course you like spending $4000 on a new transmission. This issue is very common for any 4.7L after 125k miles. Ask me how I know!!! I just bought an 02 Tundra with 140k. Guess what happened.

  • @jume007
    @jume007 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Im Deaf everything was so simple to understand visually! One thing I dont understand is why did you clamp those 2 small tubes? Do I have to clamp them If I plan to drain the fluids?

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was just trying to prevent a mess. But if you’re changing the fluid let it drain.

      What if you don’t plan to drain and you lose a little bit more fluid than expected ? Took a little too much time to clamp it or plug it with something. Do I now have to drain the whole thing and refill it ? Mine doesn’t come with a dipstick so I cant really tell how much i lost.

    So if/when i install my new radiator, do i need to drain/flush all the coolant even in the engine block?

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s going to depend on the condition of the coolant in your vehicle. If it’s really bad shape recommend flushing it if it’s in good condition just drain out the radiator and fill it with fresh stuff.

  • @darrenschmucker8617
    @darrenschmucker8617 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The link for the radiator is for a Sequoia? Does this also fit a Tundra?

    • @mikecampbell9909
      @mikecampbell9909 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if it's the same sized engine it's the same, the sequoia is the SUV verson of the tundra, in terms of engine and frame- very similar engine layout and parts most of the time.

    how many gallons of coolant did you need? its unfuckin real that even the fkn owners manual doesn't even tell you

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1 gallon of concentrated coolant mixed with 50% water making 2 gallons should be enough. Or you can buy 2 gallons of the pre-mix.
