glad you managed to get your dream boat, something good always comes out of something bad and it was nice to get another look at my boat, well done guys
The boat is definitely a huge step up when she’s repaired ! As I watched the fiberglass damage I could almost feel the rash and itching coming on :( ! Just go ahead and buy the tyvek suits and blue tape by the case ! Plenty of plastic sheeting to seal the work off from the rest of the boat. I didn’t realize how small Daniela is until I saw her in the galley ! The galley swallows her ! As you survey what all needs to be done remember the saying “ how do you eat an elephant ? One bite at a time !”. I’m looking forward to seeing you two build your dream together !
This is really good advice on tyvek suits and blue tape ... and of course xx small for the lady. I'd also highly recomend 3M Full Face Respirator 6000 Series, for the sanding of fiberglass. You don't want that in your lungs, Even better, if any way you can afford it, is the forced air respirator that Madds got in his last video. Both will protect both your lungs and your eyes... very important.
That's a hell of a lot of structural damage. You will be able to patch that up fiberglassing and make it good sealed watertight, but the structure is weakened and so is the strenght of the hull to be able to take nature's forces in bad weather conditions. The boat was cheap for a reason! Goodluck with the repairs and keep livin' your dreams... Respect! Groeten uit Rdm!
What worries me is what you can't see. He might get going on those keels and find serious damage to the hulls that isn't apparent yet. I would be afraid to buy a boat in that sort of condition unless I knew I had a good bit of money set aside for repairs.
You and Daniela have the right attributes to put Limonada 2 back in the water...love and respect for one another and you both are not afraid of hard work. You both know it will lead to better things for your future. Incredibly sad for the people of the island. Tears are very appropriate. Be safe both of you.
Huub it’s a beautiful thing to get a beautiful girl who loved you on a small boat and now is as grateful as you are for a bigger boat. Wishing you and Daniella many more blessings! Marie from California 🙏🏼💙
You are a lucky man. After all of the love you will put into her refit, the two of you will really appreciate the boat when it is back in the water. I say you are a lucky man because of the opportunity to buy the boat and because you found your first mate, Danielia.Good luck. Have fun rebuilding.
WOW!!!!! ...Huub, you sound very excited, but DANIE!!!! She looked so proud, and beaming, she seems radiant... The monohull was your boat, but this is something you guys are starting TOGETHER!!!!
good job guys!!! i also bought a hurricane damaged cat 4 years ago. one of my keels was snapped off too! now i live on it. a lot of people will tell you your crazy, dont listen to the na-sayers. you can do it!!!! it will be a great adventure!!!!
What an amazing future you 2 are going to have with your new boat.. you bought what you could buy at the beginning and made a ton of great memories on your little classic sailboat. Huub you are definitely deserving of the boat you've been dreaming of
I had to wait three years for you to get a better Boat, I told you 3 years ago to get a boat. That's better than the one you have, but also with the old boat. You got all that experience? You know how to fix boats a lot of other stuff, so that's one good thing that happened. Even though you had to scrape on that old thing for hell long.
So devastating. This is why I go to Trinidad for hurricane season. Spent a lot of time in Carriacou. Wow, devastated. Looking at the damage of your cat it thought “on no”. That was before I went back and watched a lot of your videos. YOU can do it. You have the skills and ambition. Looking forward to seeing you new boat blossom.
Outstanding Daniela and Huub!! Great boat!! Watched all your shows from the beginning!! You are more well rounded than all the rest of TH-camrs. So happy for you and Daniela! Baby steps on the project's and before you know it you will be cruising!!!
From many of your videos that I've seen, I recall you using a frase "i am grateful" quite often , making you very humble and appreciative of your life's journey... I believe that God likes you, as simple as that. I'm happy for you, brother ⛵️
That boat of yours can be fixed with enough will power en persistence. Yet after seeing the damage on the island one must remember that paradise is only lost if you are. I believe you two will make it through this carnage quite easily, the gods are with you.
Hi H+D you did the right thing, and after finishing the boat jobs you are going to LOVE this boat for sure. Let me know if you like a helping hand. //Niels
Wow! I’m so happy for you both! I have been praying I’m sure like others who pray, hope and wish the best for you both, that y’all would get a bigger better boat. Wow and was all of our prayers, hopes and wishes answered! I am so looking forward to seeing y’all get out in this catamaran and show us how much better life is with the catamaran. Keep up the good vibes! Much love for you both! Jeff From Clearwater Beach Florida 😊
That boat is a maxim 380 built in Durban South Africa. I owned one and have a friend that put his on the reef and has been repairing the same damage you have. One thing with those owners hulls is that door in the back of the head that goes to the engine. Make sure you find a way to water proof it as with his he hit the sail drive which broke free and the hull flooded through that door. The nice thing is there are no internal linings so the hull can easily be repaired. They are strong boats for sure. That one of yours also has had sugar scoop extensions.
The devastation is overwhelming especially in an under-developed area . This no doubt will make things a challenge on boat repairs since resource availability and supply chain issues will be a huge factor . Hopefully the boat can soon safely navigate to the next port where there will be access to more resources to continue the boat work. Danny , I'm sure , will be happy to use a windlass on the new boat . @4:51 Love Danny's new office ! ( lol )
The cat is already in better condition than Limonade 1. With focus and determination the structural repairs are doable, that's the beauty of GRP. Danny, as well as being tough and pretty, is very funny. Good luck you two xx
you are a great inspiration. I wish you both the best of luck in resolving the structural problems. Sad for the people lost all. lovely couple, great adventure 😊
This looks like the catamaran that was anchored out next to us in the Exumas earlier this year. I am so happy for you and Daniella! Keep us updated on your new home! Good luck.
I live in the Australian tropics and have "endured" five cyclones (which is what we call our hurricanes) over the years, the worst one being Cyclone Tracy in Darwin and the last one in Townsville five or six months back. Tracy destroyed literally all of Darwin, and was a 12-hour nightmare I will NEVER forget. The power was off for three or four months, from memory. Today Darwin is fairly sizeable city of 150,000 people. In the meantime, your catamaran is a beauty. Some of the damage looks fairly serious, but, with your history in mind, I expect you and Daniela are going to do what you always do. Get stuck in and get it done...
Daniela, incredible boat tour, you make Huub so very happy 🎉. I look forward to what the future will bring both of you. Thanks for letting us be part of your life.
It looks like within a few weeks work you will have this boat ready to go I'm a little jealous because I wish this happened to me I guess it's just a matter of being in the right place at the right time and knowing that you have the knowledge to put the broken pieces back together I wish you the very best in your voyages if I could afford it I would be there helping untangle all those boats
Daniella & Huub: Wow, the damage was extensive! Possibly you could help with the Grenada rebuild while working on your new catamaran? She will make a lovely home!
Hi guy,i feel so sad for all them people, but am so happy for you two ,she really is a dream boat, well done ,and thank you for sharing your experience with us.
The hurricane damage is traumatic. I lived in the Virgin Islands during Irma and Maria and we were out of power for 3 months and had no roof. It was incredibly difficult. Many of my friends left the island because their home was not salvageable. I encourage you to be sensitive with what the locals are going through and support them in any way you can. It’s very sad ❤️
Great adventure ahead. Go for it. You aren't allowed to bleed on deck! We used to put the washing in the tub then just like crushing grapes you get in and tread away. Bonus clean feet too!
@9:50, it looks like the area took a hit from outside and the vertical part near the door frame yielded. It may need some reinforcement. Daniela looks thrilled with her new home. I hope you two have happy times together.
It is so terrible the destruction that hurricane did. I hope it is not too costly to get your new boat fixed, I know you both cannot wait to set sail in it ⛵⛵🌞🌞
What an awesome upgrade for you guys. Its been a real exciting couple of weeks. You an other utube sailors all getting new boats. I love this for you. Cant wait to see you set sail an take on new adventures. Peace ✌️ ☮️ just cant get over all the boats that got destroyed. Breaks my heart. Here i am looking for my boat an all these dreams are ruined.
Most everything is repairable if someone is willing to put forth the effort.. most people will take the insurance money and upgrade. If I were a content creator I'd be looking at a good buy hurricane damaged boat. They're cheap and you can create alot of content fixing it, most people have created big channels from starting off with boat work videos which result eventually in sailing content
🎉that cat will fly like an eagle when the sails are raised ! You guys chose a great buy . Good that u are able to support the locals when they need you with cash
Good luck. If you need vision for how to fix those holes, watch Parlay Revival videos for how they fixed theirs. They did an amazing job and are out sailing now. I cannot wait to watch your videos on your progress!!!!
Looks like you've got a great project boat with fairly localized damage - repairs on the starboard hull might be a great way to gain experience and give you time to learn, get advice and plan for the more critical repair on the port hull that is major structure and serious work but looks very do-able once you have a clear understanding of the process. Good luck and thanks for sharing the story through the eyes of such happy souls.
That hull repair for the keel is an insurance write-off. Thats a huge job. Actually a bit surprising the hull could not take such a short fall (if that's what happened). But you guys are motivated so do your research and dig into it. The devastation in the mangrove and to the locals homes. 😢😢 What can you say. Lot's of life quality and dreams destroyed there.
I guess you could have financed one but it's much better to be debt free and feels better doing it the way that you did. As for me, I'm about ready to start building a catamaran. I hope that all of your sails and navigation equipment is in good nick.
Congratulations on your new home and adventure as a couple building your life and happiness. The repairs need for the keel needs a structural engineer possibly contract the builder for repair solutions! At least It seems there is no costly water damage! SV Skoiern lV
I am so happy for you both. And I love your gratefulness. I hope you get along well with the repair, I will follow your videos! And yes, I am curious about the price and on the other hand it is your private issue.
That's your business what you paid for the boat, you can go over the cost after she's splashed back into the water.. I think your last boat provided you with the experience and knowledge that you will need to get your new boat up and going. Your old boat no matter what you did to it would only be worth so much, your new boat you can fix it properly and how you want and still be able to sell it for a profit after enjoying it. It's really cool seeing you have finally found someone who is interested in living the same way you envisioned.. the great thing about fiberglass is it can be repaired. There's people who have split aka cut a catamaran, trimaran or monohull apart and added several feet resulting in the boat they want while it stays safe.. hopefully you are going to take your time and get everything done correctly so that you can enjoy sailing without any issues..
Take measurements of anything and everything you are repairing before beginning. Also make patterns of the shape/form before starting as well. That way you have a reference to fall back on. You would be best advised to start repairing the holes on the side of the boat and any on top to stop water getting in. I would then move onto fixing the major inside structures that have damage. That way you can get a lot of repair done before fully moving into the boat. Then move onto the keel(s)
So happy for you both. I'm sure you are grateful for the opportunity to purchase your dream boat. It's sad to see the destruction to the island from the hurricane. We hope that the people can have their island restored soon. 💖🌞⛵🐬🤗
glad you managed to get your dream boat, something good always comes out of something bad and it was nice to get another look at my boat, well done guys

So glad you got such a beautiful ship. Devastating island & other boat damages.
I think your title should include the island damage. I am sharing.
Looks like a long road back to getting on the water, but definitely worth it to get a catamaran. Good luck my friend!
Great adventure ahead. Go for it. You aren't allowed to bleed on deck! We used to put the washing in the tub then just like crushing grapes you get in and tread away. Bonus clean feet too!
Mooie boot Huub. Veel veilige zeemijlen gewenst. Stay safe
Hi Huub and Daniela .Congratulations for Catamaran ❤.Ray from Malta
De schade aan jullie nieuwe boot valt mij eigenlijk wel mee, dat krijgen jullie wel weer voor elkaar👍⚓😊
Jaaa! Alles kan gerepareerd worden !!! (als je tijd en geduld hebt ) :)
@@HuubVlogs Dat gaat zeker weer mooie video's opleveren👍

well, its all fix able but impact damage can be tricky to repair. but its do able
Hi Huub and Daniela, great episode! Great buy!
🎉that cat will fly like an eagle when the sails are raised ! You guys chose a great buy . Good that u are able to support the locals when they need you with cash

i enjoy watching hurricane damage catamaran being repaired yous can do it this going to be great.
Gefeliciteerd met jullie nieuwe boot! Felicidades con vuestro nuevo barco! Gr. vanuit de Flevopolder. Un saludo tambien a Daniella desde holanda.
Heel erg bedankt !!!
I am happy for you both…it will be a lot of work,, you have help doing all that? Can’t wait to see the progress,,, ❤
MTV cribs for the boat, this one is very nice and I am more educated on the different types of boats
Felicidades por el nuevo barco, es enorme!! Saludos a los dos desde España!
So happy for you guys. More space yea! :))
Nice boat. Deserves refitting. It’s going to be a great adventure.
That hull repair for the keel is an insurance write-off. Thats a huge job. Actually a bit surprising the hull could not take such a short fall (if that's what happened). But you guys are motivated so do your research and dig into it.

Heey Dan! Thanks a lot! Appreciate it my friend!
So good! Congratulations! ❤❤
Congrats on your new boat hope you have great memories with this boat like you had on the old one!
absolutely!
I would hope they paid you to take this on. But you have an incredible companion. Her expressions
One repair at a time👍👍
Haha, yes, that's how we live life at the moment!
Delighted to have found your Chanel and look forward to following the repairs , when do you think you will be back in the water 😊
I guess you could have financed one but it's much better to be debt free and feels better doing it the way that you did. As for me, I'm about ready to start building a catamaran. I hope that all of your sails and navigation equipment is in good nick.
It's a dream boat. Get the dream however you can.
That is just devastating.... WIsh you both the best with this project. As awful as it sounds parts might be in abundance, with the disaster.
Congratulations on your new home and adventure as a couple building your life and happiness. The repairs need for the keel needs a structural engineer possibly contract the builder for repair solutions! At least It seems there is no costly water damage! SV Skoiern lV
with some hard work it is going to look nice, just make sure its safe,---jerry from USA
Congratulations on the new boat waving a hand from Maryland US SV fellowship ⛵️
I am so happy for you both. And I love your gratefulness. I hope you get along well with the repair, I will follow your videos! And yes, I am curious about the price and on the other hand it is your private issue.
Good luck to you both.

I appreciate it Ben, thank you! Good to know. And yes, learned so much over the years!
Beautiful to see!
It's kinda like seeing spring in some sense if you know what I mean, after a long hard winter. But the mentallyti is continue
I like your security gate.
Great Work!! Respect
What a beautiful boat
Good move and great show👍
thank you!
man oh man its gonna be sometime fixing all that. Good luck!
The most important part of the restoration process is to enjoy it, your quiet capable you and dani, enjoy the process,😊
Veel plezier met je catamaran .🎉
So happy for you both. I'm sure you are grateful for the opportunity to purchase your dream boat. It's sad to see the destruction to the island from the hurricane. We hope that the people can have their island restored soon. 💖🌞⛵🐬🤗
