- Kyrie Irving scores 28 points and dishes out 7 assists in the Boston Celtics’ 117-113 win over vs. Milwaukee Bucks. The Celtics drain a team-record 24 3-pointers, coming up one shy of the NBA mark for a single game and snap the Bucks' undefeated start to the season. Giannis Antetokounmpo drops a double-double of 33 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

These teams look like polar opposites on the court & every minute of every match up is enjoyable.
For starters:
Boston is really good. The bucks are also really good. If there is a takeaway from the game that wants to act like either team is significantly better than the other, that's someone who didn't watch the game. Beyond one run in the 3rd, it was a tightly contested back and forth game.
That being said, the bucks didn't even play that well.
- they kept dropping on screens, leaving wide open 3s. They didn't fix that until. The 4th quarter.
- offensively they were a mess. Players messed up the spacing over and over. Credit to Boston for getting in their heads over it.
- despite this, the bucks realized they had a massive advantage inside and they took it to Boston.
Meanwhile:
- Kyrie is the best tough shot maker in the league
- Middleton is still super klutch. Casually makes two late contested 3s whole having a bad game.
- Giannis balled out.
I don't think the FT difference was bias. When one team pounds it inside and the other shoots 55 3s, the team pounding it gets fouled more.
On top of thy, there were missed calls both ways all game.
The take away is this: both teams are among the best in the east and could easily go 7 games in the playoffs again.
Completely agree, quality take. I would say it also showed that the bucks have been playing close to their ceilings before this game and the Celtics were really underachieving. Things are gonna level out

Much like the playoffs, the bucks STILL couldn't get the job done against another INJURED Celtics team 😂😂😂

The takeaway is that we beat the bucks in the playoffs before without kyrie and Hayward, and once the team chemistry is fixed good luck. We broke the pistons streak and the bucks so far. Celtics ain’t no joke.
The east is so exciting this year, alot of teams finally reaching maturity

I think this will be a great playoff series.. Milwaukee has just enough to match up with Toronto and possibly beat them in 6 or 7 games in the 2nd round of the playoffs.. I have Milwaukee vs Boston in the Eastern Conference Finals if both teams stay healthy. I also think Giannis could be a future MVP, didnt think i would ever be saying that when he first came into the league, but he really is a crazy freak athlete.

The Celtics have to shoot threes like this in practically every game to beat the warriors. For them that was an exceptional night of shooting but even on an off night the warriors may shoot 17 to 20 threes. Kinda hard to keep up.

Excuses, excuses. NBA is a game of runs. Boston had theirs in the 3rd, Bucks at theirs in the 4th. Bucks couldn't close out the game, something they will need to go through growing pains to get done in the future.

Giannis who (has just lost one of two free throws) gallops to the other basket and just misses a reverse layup that would have tied the game...and the rest is history...AND you had a francise record in threes!
