No problems with the RAF f35b during this operation is good news. The f18 had many problems at the start but now its awesome. So will the f35!

    • @Albertkallal
      @Albertkallal 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

the F35 is VERY well built. An it is VERY reliable. Newer compuers, and even newer cars (despite what older timers say) are very reliable.
A long time f16 pilot now flying the F35 says that he often during excercies flew the f16 with "some" systems not working. But, pilots are not babies, and they work around issues all the time. That same pilot stated that EVERY single time he flew the F35, everything was up and worked perfect.
You note in this video the over 90+ % up time. Newer jets simply are better in terms of maintains and up-time. The engine core on the f35 is the SAME ONE as the f22. So the f119 engine core was a game changer in the f22. it has nearly half the parts of previous engines. All important maintains parts are lowered to the bottom and can be accessed by a door, and in general serviced with basic tools.
      GET THIS:
Lockheed states that the f119 engine had 50% LESS maintains then previous engines.
The SAME design was used for the F35, but they IMPROVED the maintains, and even simplified the engine MORE.
      What does this mean?
Well, the f135 single engine in the F35 is not only the most powerful engine put in a jet fighter, but the jet has 4 times less maintains then current two engine fighters.
On carrier operations, this will be game changer. So with 60 jets, you don't have 120 engine cores. (double the engines means double the chance of a engine issue). And given that this new design reduces engine maintains by 50%, then the F35 is amazing in terms of up time. And Lockheed states that the f135 engine core has been designed and requires less love and care then the similar engine it based on used in the f22.
Despite what internet hacks claim? The F35 is VERY good in this area - better then ANY current fighter in the market.

I spent 11 yrs in the US army (2000-2011) with 2 tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. My younger is also in the army and my older brother is a F-15E pilot in the US air force. I know for a FACT that pilots DO NOT do what you say because my older brother has told me a lot about the F-35 and F-22 when he has flown with and against them in training! He would never go say good things about any aircraft if was a piece of junk. The ONLY thing they won't tell you is the stuff that is classified! That means they aren't going to tell people like you everything that aircraft is capable of doing. I had a top security clearance when I was in the army because I worked for CID my last few years in the army. I know exactly how the military works and you obviously don't. So please don't act as if you do because people like me will just laugh at you and out you.

The F-35 was a US idea and are the ones that can up with everything but wanted partners to share the cost and let other countries build different parts of the aircraft. There is a HUGE difference between building a Harrier and freaking super advanced 5th gen fighter!!! The UK doesn't have the defense industry to even begin thinking about building a 4th gen fighter, much less a 5th gen one! There is a reason why the UK and all the other countries in Europe team up to build their fighters and that is because of the cost and lack of defense industry.

NO IT CANT!! Reading some Brits on here could not get any more embarrassing. None know anything about aircraft yet all want to talk about them? And read what these uneducated Brits think, you could not make it up! The F-35B Was claimed by the USA to be able to do what the Harrier could do while also being supersonic and stealthy.
This is what we were told, you've all heard it as has everyone, but the biggest technical headache the British always had to build the Harrier was the VTO - transferring from ''lift'' (downward nozzles) to forward flight (rear facing nozzles) and flying away.
At 7 mins 50 seconds you'll watch a Harrier perform a proper VTO. Enter this in youtube search... 2013 MCAS Yuma Air Show - AV8B Harrier Demo''
Watch it from lift off to, more importantly, flying away, and you'll see the transfer of nozzles take place.
I bet nobody can show me a single piece of footage of the F-35B doing this?
      Because it can't!

Another cool fact is Norway ordering 52 & Denmark 27 - when you consider the size of their respective militaries they’re significant numbers - Love how they’re stepping up and playing a role in defending the Baltic region from the Russians .

If you want the Queen Elizabeth to work as intended, you’d need either Harriers or F-35Bs.
Of course, if you’re talking about regular aircraft, SU-35s could technically work, though I’m not sure why you would trust Russia with the UK’s defense.

The research about women serving aboard ship that I've read about would seem to show that whilst weak in some areas, brute strength for example, they are generally better than men at things that require attention to detail and persistence.
HMS Darling, which I think is the Navy's most technically advanced ship, has a female skipper. She is presumably there on merit, I don't think the Navy would give anyone command of a warship just for PR purposes.
