THATS the thing you made out to be unbelievable? DID you see that start without anybody stalling and so little wheelspin on those tiny tires and the sheer acceleration of those torque-beasts again without anyone spinnih the wheels ? I wasnt there, but can you imagine how much skill they needed to have just to keep the engine turning and even further to get those cars to roll from. a rollinf start??? Neither of us watchimg this video would be capable to get going a modern F1 car, let alone one of those. Modern F1 drivers are INSANE, but those at the beginning were simply artists !! and they are so underrated in being that!
Imagine trying to "conserve" 7mm of tread on a tyre.....in hot and dry conditions.....it was actually kart racing that led the way with slick tyres for dry conditions back in the early 60's....it was clearly never thought about in Grand Prix racing ........
i remember watching a documentary on his repco brabham. looked like quite the professional outfit for the time :) more organised than us brits who were a back of the garages operation back then!
Bom trabalho muito bom obrigada por darem cor e revelar a beleza destas imagens de Carlos em Portugal
Caroll Shelby at Lesmo in the DBR4, amazing, how many people knew this good old boy drove for David Brown in F1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A 'replacement' tyre from a crashed sports car? Can you imagine the Mercs doing that these days? Utterly extraordinary!
Imagine Lewis borrowing a tyre from Toto's street car.
