metro link makes it seem simple but its not. at Oceanside you have a nctd person helping you (or actually doing it for you since it's faster if he does it). the other machine located in the parking lot is very dark (bring headlamp or flashlight) and half the time it does not work anyway. I know that metro link has received plenty of complaints about the machines but they choose to ignore it.
I agree with you jbarsinister. The machines need to be fixed or add more machines. Hopefully, Metrolink will debut mobile/internet ticketing, but it will probably be broken, just like the kiosk.
Metrolink is getting new Ticket machines, but they might reduce and/or eliminate cash and go cashless. They would accept EBT, Credit, Debit, Tap cards and other sorts of media.
