Looking forward to the paint up. I wouldn't call the build part boring, I always enjoy watching it, and in cases like this, it's handy to know where the issues will arise.

why are you filling in seems n mold lines and gaps with filler, you can fill gaps and joins with the very solvent you use to assemble it,paint it on ,rub clean with fine grade paper or sand stick, rinse and repeat ,use a sprue softened with a candle flame n strech it then fill in large gaps with it,then paint on ultra thin tamiya which is methylene chloride with retarder in it,i buy it by the gallon with no retarder the M.Chloride that is ,clean n rub with abreasive rinse n repeat, jeezo !! nae offence but a lot of modellers are stuck in the stone age using fillers,im old im 64 n ive been using my MC for 50 yrs ,ye could take a solid block of styrene n carve it using MC,if ye need it put a bit of sprue in a wee pot then MC n itll give ye a rapid dry filler...jeezo !!
