Yeah he does great work. From what I can tell looks like a mix of hand animation, rotoscoping and compositing. In my day job im a compositor and VFX artist, I'll likely get to stuff like that after I get these basics done. Thanks for the suggestions!
Short answer is I'm using a "glint effect" Long answer is: there isn't a great way to do this in Motion as it is in After effects. To get the best results Im usually creating a light wrap or built projected reflections using 3d Objects like Motion VFX mO2 plugin.
wow. I don't know why I haven't gone to motion a lot sooner.. this is amazing at how you can integrate it within FCPX.. this is crazy to me how easy it is to create and use..
Hmmm- possibly. As far as I know, the motion templates may only work with Final Cut Pro X. Its a fairly significant time saver for sure. Nice work on that last vid of yours! -Stanislaw Luberda AV-Ultra
Glad to hear it. Something I recommend doing if you are looking to learn more is opening the generators and titles included with Final cut. Doing this, you can see how they are put together in Apple Motion and it helped me learn a lot in a short time.
how would you publish a parameter for the duration of a lower third? if i try adjusting the length the lower third is shown on screen it slows down the animations and stretches out all the timing of the keyframes accordingly.
By design that’s how titles and generators work. Using build in and build out flags will keep frames constant in those areas, but if you extend a title beyond the original published project time, it will scale accordingly giving you that ‘stretch’ slow down. For whatever effect you want to speed up or slow down, try using behaviors. Most of those have a rate,or speed or intensity parameter you can publish and manipulate in fcp. Hope that helps.
@@AVUltra Thanks for your response. I'm not sure what build in and build out flags are. Do you have a video covering this? I may not have explained what I was going for well. I have some animation for a lower third when it enters and exits the screen. The text shown between the intro and exit animations is constant. If I publish this to FCP and try to change the duration the text in the lower third is displayed the animations are slowed down or sped up according to how much the duration is stretched in FCP. Is there a way around this? So I can just change the duration that the text is shown in FCP without it affecting the speed of the animations? I appreciate your help and expertise!
@@AVUltra Right now I would have to modify the apple motion file if I wanted to change the duration the lower third text is on screen in FCP. Or, I would have to publish three separate apple motion files: one for the intro animation, one for the constant text, and one for the exit animation.
id recommend checking out the building lower thirds lessons I have on the channel. That might give you better visibility to how build in out works and address some of the additional questions you might have on titles. Once you get it, it makes sense. When in doubt, built your titles to the length you are likely going to want them to last in Final Cut. You can set your project length when starting a project or in the main dashboard.
Please, I want your help. How to give a separation line in between the Controls. My controls are looking very messy as there are lots of controls. How to separate them with a line or something. I want to group the controllers. Please help.
can I change the default name "drop zone" to my own? Double clicking on the name "drop zone" or in "source media" will not allow you to change the name to your own.
question: I make everything like you say, after it in FCPX I have my new generator but when I click it it's red with some error. Is strange because icon of generator show what's inside, but it doesn't work. any suggestion what I'm doing wrong? :) aaa one more when I export it from motion like normal video it's work perfect with transparent background....
Make sure Motion and FCPX are BOTH up to date. If they are not (or others have used pirated versions) you will get theses errors. Dont understand the second question here to be able to give it an answer. Sounds like you just exported with an alpha channel. Hope that helps. -S
Thanks for checking these out. I started doing these because I didn't see a lot of Motion stuff out there. and the stuff that WAS out there, i didn't ever see myself really using at all. Theres some paid stuff out there too, but these are the basics I feel everyone should be able to learn for free. Thanks a lot for watching, and thanks for the comment. -Stanislaw Robert Luberda AV-Ultra
Is there something you want to learn in Motion or Final Cut? I'm always open to suggestions.
AV-Ultra I would like to learn how to make magic tricks like Zach King using Apple Motion.

Do you have a tutorial on how to give that reflection? on the icon/logo?

ahhh ok ok understood. Thanks for the reply i appreciate that, ill take a look at that plugin and also experiment with that effect.
bro u r the best
i hope you upload more videos like an advanced course or specific tutorial in apple motion
Send a note to apple Motion feedback. They read it.
Man, I cannot say how much I thank you for all of these fantastic videos. Eternal gratitude here.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Motion is going to save me so much time! Thanks so much for the great video tutorials!
What a great tutorial - I've been struggling with publishing templates for weeks - this has answered all my questions - many thanks
Next week Im covering titles, and likely doing a giveaway of some.
After that, I'll be covering Rigs, just as in depth.
thanks for watching.
Really nice tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!

This makes me want to get Final Cut - however for now will stick with iMovie. I'm thinking it would be possible to make this work there as well.
Hmmm- possibly.

This was done very well, thank you for this. I’ve always wanted to make a few templates myself. Great Video!

You can. Ultimately though the name drop one is referenced all the way down into the xml so it knows what it is. But yea you can rename it etc.
