I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! JOHN POPPER IS AMAZING!!!!!!!
Big brother showed me this band on a camping trip when I was kid.. 20+ years later. Big bro is dead and gone, but I can see us together again when a good jam takes me back to a time when everyone was alive and well..Well shit.
sorry to hear that your Big Brother past, but it is great that He still lives in your mind..... my mom pasted this year,,,, i feel your pain
Remember him through the music and let certain songs or lyrics bring you back to a memory of him that were special times together. Even silly things you did together. That's what I do. I remember my bro through stupid things we did. We were very young and his real dad let's just say wasn't very nice. My parents treated him like a son and my brother. Had his own room and celebrated holidays. My parents adopted him. Well in 1991 we were in the back of a truck that hit a telephone pole. The truck flipped over and over and threw us both about 35 feet in the air. Well I landed on my side but the back of his head hit the curb in the center of the street and he was gone. I tried to help him but I couldn't move from the waist up. Anyhow I hear a song or think of something or something happens and I know somehow he's just saying hay I'm not gone and I say I love you to my brother. Sorry to rant. Nut I love you brother rip and I will see you when it's my time. Love you Nut job RIP June 11 1991
Nut was only 21
💯❤
Sorry for your loss but glad you have a fond memory of your brother through the music...
Can anyone listen to this song just once and does it take your breath away every single time? If you can't feel this Song, You ain't right lol 2021 Everything is going to be okay, y'all. Love and Peace to you!!!
Damn...its a great tune. Cry so easily......
lol, how did that work out for us?
Went to Blues Travler show last night. This was the encore , 30th anniversary of "Four" album. Show was great they rocked it!
Not only a good harmonica player, also a badass singer. Awesome.
This is an absolutely amazing version of one of the best songs of all time.
John Popper is a King!! That harmonica playing tho, gives me chills.
John has lost so much weight since this video. I'm very happy for him. Saw him this past Saturday in concert. It was a very fun time. Been a fan since the early 90's. Was so great to finally hear him in person.
This is my favorite song of his. Pure, unadulterated blues with his amazing harmonica style.
This video looks like it was before he figured out how to make the cradle that could hold the harmonica close to the mic without him having to juggle them individually. Still sounds fantastic for a live concert.
I completely melt when I hear this Song. It is like no other.
I tried it on harmonica at full tempo and that is so hard. He is a shredder on harmonica like so frickin insane
Awwwww shit !!! Damn this brings back memories .... When my friends were listening to Korn I was listening to a green CD with a cool cat on the front. 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️😅😂🥰
😂 same
It was straight 🔥🔥🔥🫵🫡
And so was I....wore that CD out playing it and I had it for easily 25 years...
He’s the song bird of our generation.
DAMN RIGHT!!!!!!!!
Fucking hell!!! Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful. Makes my soul sad and happy at the same time
What was a one of a kind and then someone hated it and blew it up!
What a magical night it had to be for the children onstage behind them
One of the GREATEST Bands of all time! I just wish they had gotten the recognition they deserved.
They did…
They went Quadruple Platinum..... I think they got the recognition.
OMG I LOVE you and your beautiful voice so much
Love this … all of it!
59 years old and still go back to this on bad days...i think our cd was stolen and never replaced
Always come back to this song. Always
I saw them in London at Shepherd’s Bush empire in the 90s, absolutely brilliant. Somehow life took over and I’ve recently rediscovered this album. I play it every day.
Lost a daughter to brain cancer 4 years ago. This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.
So sorry for your loss.
😇😇😇
😞
Most Underrated Front man. God Bless you John!!
Will we ever have Music like this again....
I can't see it happening. The 90s was the last great musical era. I could name all the bands, but I'm guessing you know what I'm talking about. For those of us blessed to live through it, and appreciate it, let's give thanks.
Matthew Zarris this is a pretty ignorant comment. There are plenty of amazing bands playing today. You just must not be listening to that much music
@@samviscomi14 If you feel the need to insult me, back it up Sammy. The Great bands that fall under the "alternative rock" era of the 90s could put together festivals and some could play arenas (Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews to name a couple). Bands from that music era (and yeah, it was an era) are already being played on some classic rock stations.
Tell me a few contemporary bands who fit that bill.
What contemporary band can even produce a greatest hits album?
Step up, or go get your shine box, Sammy.
@@samviscomi14 I take his comment to be referring to music like Imagine Dragons, 21 Pilots and bands that are not deeply talented. That isn't to say that there are not savants in the modern area, we have some great lyricists like Tyler Childers, folk artists like The Weepies, Indie Acts like Deathcab, rock acts like Disturbed that are reinventing themselves. Unfortunately, the mainstream wants to favor people who are very attractive or very pop, and the good music is repressed. That is why people who grew up in the 80's and 90's are disenfranchised. Video really did kill the radio star.
Matthew Zarris Marcus king band would be a great place to start. From there I would say check out govt mule, Gary Clarke jr, Jj grey and mofro, John scofield, Derek trucks, Tedeschi Trucks Band, the allman betts band. Also Dave matthews still tour and released a new album last summer if you didn’t know
Legendary. Cmon Travelers, make a come back album 2022
this guy voice is amazing
Great people great music
❤
one of my favorite Blues Traveler songs - so great!
One of my favorite bands.!! Love his harmonica play.!
Most Underrated Band Ever
Just so beautiful.
Southern boys doing it up. Very proud of them.
He can make that harmonica sing ♥️ love the blues travelers and this song.
Yes! Love that harmonica! ❤
that missed note is fkn awesome on that solo fkn pure beauty
Favorite song of all time from them. Saw em live in 99'ish. Epic
John Popper, genius song writer!!! This song so underrated, heck, the band is underrated. Such a shame
I was there. Sick show...
So clean on that harp.
I lived at 10,000 ft In elevation in Colorado. This song hits the heart hard.⚡️🇺🇸
Saw these guys last year live. Popper still sounds like that, after all these years. He's a crazy good singer, and they are an amazingly talented group of musicians. These guys were around when I was a teen, and I'm approaching 40, so that tells you something about their skills.
LOVE these guys. Became a fan back in early '90s to their relatively mild track '100 years' and just liked more and more as I kept delving into their catalog. I've definitely seen these guys in concert more than any other band though I think they've gotten a bit too "jammy', not that there's anything wrong with that, but I'd rather hear more good songs than a 30 minute jam of one song. Still digging 'em thou for sure. Peace.
Doom Raiders I’m going to see them in May I can’t wait.. his voice gives me chills he’s so soulful 💙
@@cheesesteak22 After all the really bad guitar jams I've heard that go on for what seems like an hour when it's probably only 15 minutes, and has absolutely nothing to do with the song, I'll take a Blues Travelers jam anytime!
Why can't today's youth appreciate what real music is. Hook was a great song and so true.
Me too brother.. they are beautiful and amazing..
WHAT AN AMAZING ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND!
I remember when they put out the first album - this one. I thought they were absolutely amazing. I was already in my 20s when they came out, but they were easily and still are, one of my favorite bands.
This album was called "four" because it was their fourth album...
This song speaks to me in such a way, much like Look Around and Sweet Pain.
Rip billy
These guys are awesome to watch live...great band...
Such a unique band and damn he is a talented singer, and the lyrics to their music has always stood out to me as being relatable.
Damn mountains make me feel pain
Love these guys still💯🤙🏾💕
Beautiful
My favorite song.
What a great song. Dont know why they didn`t get too far. Such a great voice, lyrics and not to metion a killer harp player!!! You Rock Popper !!!
+Scott C I was just thinking that exact thing, I hate to say it but the guitarist is a bit mediocre, I'm sure they're all friends, which makes it all work, but John is the only standout.
Their original bassist Bobby Sheehan was a monster, one of my favorite all-time. He also wrote this song yet got almost zero camera time. RIP :(
I guess it depends on what you mean by "too far". A lot of bands would bend over backward to just reach the mainstream as strong as they did in 1994. I think they were content to be where they were and kinda resistant to mainstream success, atleast that's how I interpret the song " hook". I believe one band member passed and the lead singer had some personal issues as well. But to me, just reaching the mountaintop (pun fully intended) especially with this sound in the midst of grunge rock and gangsta rap is a testament to how good they were...
My 23 year old daughter is having thoughts of summitting Everest or K2 (oh hell no on this one). This is the perfect song. The MOUNTAIN wins. Oh boy.
Sometimes people gotta do what they gotta do; nature always teaches important lessons.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!
Love you guys ❤️ Cindy
The one black guy looking like he loves life!
Truth!!! 🥶 Ruth
mr. popper kicks some serious ass!
Should've been their 3rd single from that album.
wow
My kids were brought up with him cranked 😘 I need the guitar players brown pants 😘
Good one
Sadly I wasn't aware of this song until I heard Braiden Sunshine cover it on the Voice. He did a really good job but when it comes to Blues Traveler there's nothing like the original.
Just love ya
I saw them about a year later on HORDE; I can't admit to ever being a fan in any real sense, but they put on an impeccably tight live show. (Though they were definitely upstaged by Barenaked Ladies, who put on a _spectacularly_ entertaining show.)
I saw them about a dozen times on HORDE tour and with the Black Crowes. After one show in Ann Arbor's Hill Auditorium, I picked up Brenden Hill (drummer) who wanted to hit The Blind Pig (well known bar in A2), I told him it was just 2 blocks away but he still wanted to ride. I ended up taking their stage manager to the HoJo to get their belongings and hung out at the bar with the band until time to take them back to the tour bus. I had the whole band in my cab, but it was cramped so another driver split the ride with me.
A night I'll never forget. They were all just cool people to hang with.
I love you 💋
great acoustic solo at 3.00
I really like Blues Travellers, Aussie here, what does this song mean, please
I wish I knew back then how affordable shows were if I just worked a bit harder. I would have been at this and every Bridge School benefit and 100 other shows that missed because I was poor and neurologically spicy!
“You have the pending heart attack, why not!”
bridge school middlebury, vt
How does he do that?
I saw them years ago at MSG when they opened for Jerry Garcia band.Horde tour with Allman brothers,92,93 at Laguna Segua days.with Allmans Phish, and blues traveler played both days. At the Warfield. Many other shows I can't count. What was cool was the horde tour played on the dead off days and the shows were close to the dead show. And I really believe BT are better than Phish.BILLY RIP
I'm really jealous. BT is a headliner, to hear them and JGB in one night, I cannot imagine!
Please someone tell me what this song means. I'm an Aussie
How do you do this?
So good. Mix on the guitar too high though.
it's not a bridge school benefit without 2-3 rockin in the free worlds though
wow ..kinda disappointing no one else has commented on this yet !
Buuuuuuuuuusch
Best seats in the house my ass.
I'd rather be in front of the stage (I'm also in a wheelchair).
Guitar solo fucked? No doubt...got ya on the harm brah!
guess you cancel ones never got the blues huh?
Generation Z looks like it got chewed up before it got a chance to really do anything. Tough times are nothing new in the timelines of history. But I think it's fair to say that we all can flush the idea of morale straight down the toilet.
OK. No offense to Mr. Popper, so very awesome, but I think this band should be the Blues TravelerS, plural....because without those guys having his back...John would be a talented, lonesome pole cat. Rock on, TravelerS!!!
Dumbest comment in about a year. Congrats!
that guitar solo really sucked lol
Warren Haynes did the original solo. Look him up. Pretty tough Act to follow.
I love Blues Traveler, but I’d forgotten how bad that guitarist sucked.
The one with the long hair wrote the song lol
