With a 2004 Excursion 6.0l, I am noticing the water fuel filter/seperator is right next to were I am installing the driver's side radius arm bracket making bolt insallation difficult and slow without removal. Did you have this issue?
Actually just finished my front axle swap yesterday. Really appreciate the content. Definitely the most helpful stuff I’ve found out there. Just gonna do a transfer case install then I’ll be all set. Converted a 2005 excursion 2wd 6.0 to an 07 f250 axle. Mostly was the same as ur video but didn’t need to drill as many holes for the track bar bracket. The three holes on the crossmember were already there for it. Just fyi in case anyone else is doin the swap on a 2wd excursion
Had another question cause I’m still lookin for the bolts that hold the transfer case shifter assembly to the side of the transmission. I got mine in but it only came with the one bolt that goes through the bushing. You don’t happen to know the part numbers for the other bolt do you? Or maybe just a standard size I may be able to use in its place?
hey im in the process of doing the same conversion but a 2006 6.0 to 4wd and was wondering what you did with the brake lines ? my truck was built 12/05 and the only brake lines i could find were before 12/05 , can i just use the 2wd lines and connect them to 4wd hoses?
@Left Lane Diesels, by using the PMF radius arm brackets does this allow you to bolt on directly to the frame without having to add a 1/4” spacer like the factory radius arm brackets require? Thanks
I’ve been planing on doing this to my 06 srw, do you mind making a parts list for what you had to buy new and what you reused. I’m tracking Dana 60 axle, manual T case, front driveshaft and shorter rear driveshaft.
Hey I’m in the process of swapping my truck I just bought a entire front end off an 05 4wd they literally just cut the frame and sell it everything you need
@@LeftLaneDiesels The 05-07 coil sprung 4x4 do have an extra gusset near the engine crossmember. If yours already has it you’re good, but you may want to check it out to prevent cracking.
Thank you 🤘🤘 That’s a great question, I’m still looking into options. I think I’ll end up running a factory 05+ set-up. I still need to look into what it will take to bolt the needed bracket to the frame. But I also really like the pmf dual set-up 😬
A little bit each night after work and 2 weekends. With all the extras of painting, rebuilding the front axle, inner axle seals etc. it definitely took more time than anticipated and a lot more money than anticipated. But couldn’t be happier with the outcome
Question: if I do a 2 inch front level without adding a longer trackbar, can I add a small spacer to the passenger side to even out the offset? Or is that bad for it? Love your 6.0 vids man keep them up!
There’s good kits and bad kits. The bad kits only come with spacers. Proper kits will come with an adjustable trac bar or a new trac bar bracket. So IMO get a kit that comes with one of those 2 items, that will realign the axle perfectly under the truck. Otherwise the drivers side tire will stick out further than the pass side. Another thing to think about is caster, so some kits come with drop radius arm brackets, to bring caster back into spec and avoids death wobble. Hope this helps!
What size bolts did u use for the trac bar mount
Left Lane Diesel, thank you for contributing to my TH-cam University degree!!
Just curious, did you keep your 2wd pitman arm or have to find a 4wd?
Kept the 2wd pitman arm and reamed out the draglink hole to accept 05+ steering end
Did you use the 2wd suspension stabilizer bar or get the 4wd one im doing a 05 f250
Did you use an f250 axle and just put the 8x170 to 8x200 adapters in front?

Great video.. I'm looking to go from leafs to coils on my 04.5 250 4x4. Hopefully I'll find a video like yours.
I’m assuming u had to cut the factory radius arm brackets off correct?
Yes had to cut the factory rivets off and remove the factory radius arm bracket.

I’m doing a 4x4 swap on my 08 f250 why do you have to switch the coil buckets out?
I’m wondering the same. Are the 2WD coil buckets different than the 4wd buckets?
In the process of doing this myself. Having trouble with the trac bar mount. What size bolts did you use?
Just came across your channel as I'm looking to add 4wd to my 94 f350. Nice work! Appreciate the content and clear video work.
Awesome Content! Looks great!

That's awesome man!! Nice work.
Hey I’m going through the same swap on my 2wd 2006 f250. Do you have links or part numbers for the coil brackets?
great work! that's going to be one bad ass truck, thanks for taking us along for the ride.

I did not have to use a 1/4in spacer.
Looks great, awesome job buddy.

Did you reinforce your frame?
No there’s no need to, the frame is the same as a 4x4

That’s awesome man you killed it. Looks so much better. Are you going to be adding any kind of steering dampener ?

Wouldn’t it be 6wd
