Its kinda like when people ask David Lynch what his films are about. He refused to ever say because art can be interpreted in various ways, affecting everyone differently. And the mysteriousness of it is why its so intriguing. I’m sure Alex could give out a line by line interpretation of every song. And we would all love to see that, but that takes away from the art itself

Give the new album time. It's a grower. This is iconic, imagine living through the Beatles or Bowie's discography as it happened. This is not their last album, just another step towards something else. This album is a puzzle and I can't stop listening to figure out my own answers from it. Love it
TBHC is a true grower , it started with liking few of the song but once i tried to listened them all couple time i loved it and i had to listened from start to finished , i cant listened on shuffle, it feels weird But "The Car" is totally off the rails after couples days i cant even like one single of the song yet let alone listened all the song from start to finish in one sitting, maybe try to listen more ?

Jack Saunders needs more credit than he gets, for the past few years every interview he’s done has been phenomenal and brings a side out to artists that you very seldom see with other interviews. Like the Graham Norton of music (this is to be seen as a huge compliment)
Yeah, I know they used to do that in the early days, so I assume they must have made a conscious decision at some point to stick with just Alex and Matt in interviews. Just my guess :)
So they did consider a rock album after the TBHC tour ended, and they completely back peddled on the idea when they realized that that’s not what they wanted, almost as if they were laughing at themselves for considering it, lmao. Very interesting, but shows how strong their… resolve is going forward.

Very interesting that Alex pinpointed the melody two 3rd of the way into Big Ideas as being the only thing which had come to him spontaneously since that is my favourite part of the entire album. It really is the bit which stands out as being something special.
I've only become their fan this year and I don't know if it makes sense but it's almost like they were having an out of body experience when they came up with tranquility but when the car came out, it was like they had come back to their senses but with a new perspective and a profound understanding. And I think that's why the car sounds a lot like tranquility but at the same time it reminds you of their older stuff. Anyway, they are geniuses and I love them
honestly, i'm not sure why so many people dislike this album. i thought it was beautiful. obviously, people are allowed to have their own opinions, however, i haven't really seen people give a reason as to why they don't like it. truly, i just think people weren't expecting the type of music they put out and were caught off-guard.

It’s true. Usually Matt is there to be the diplomat if things get difficult for Alex, to bridge the silences or answer the daftest questions. Alex seems to be trying too hard as well. I think it’s because Jack Saunders is tense and his questions are too direct and prying. The suggestion that the video represents isolation and loneliness, followed by the question about relations within the band is clunky and awkward. He should have just asked whether they ever fall out, allowing them to set the tone for their response. And he is embarrassed to ask if they love each other; he’s almost squirming. In contrast Matt’s affirmative response is straightforward and allows them to move on.

people are mad that AM doesn’t sound like it used to, and yet then and again, they’re getting older- they’re not teens anymore, they’re not gonna make songs about being a teen when they’re way in their 30s. I think the development is great, much better than them in a mid-life crisis. besides, just because the recent things are a different genre, doesn’t mean they’re bad.
