For someone who wrote something like "Do your time traveling through the tanning booth. So you don't let the sun catch you crying", our home boy is still struggling with sentences during interviews, bless him! Glad Matthew is there to help. Lovely to see them sitting and chatting. ❤️

All the people saying he's high. I think this is the real Alex. Watch any interview he did with Miles Kane and I think you get a glimpse of Alex either high or drunk. I think coming back to the UK has helped him clean up his act. You only have to watch any interview from before he went to the US and he was pretty much like this.

He's up there with kevin parker, james murphy, julian casablancas, damon albarn, josh homme, but yeah, i'd say he is the most complete. He explored so many different soundscapes and styles. Garage rock/post punk revival on the first two albuns, psychedelic stoner rock on Humbug, guitar indie pop on Suck it And See, R&B influenced rock on AM and space lounge pop on Tranquility.
I’ve seen too many comments from people on other forums complaining and saying that they wished the new Album sounded like their early stuff! They are fast approaching the big 4-0, and they are not the young Sheffield scallywags that they once were and they have also been famous for almost 20 years! They can’t write those kind of songs anymore, and if they did they would come off as sad cases who can’t let go of the past. I for one really appreciate the fact that their sound has matured and changed along with them. You may not find the new stuff to your personal taste but I feel that they deserve praise for changing it up and doing what THEY want, and personally I can’t wait for the new album to drop. The first two tracks are definitely growers and I’ve always found that the songs/albums that grow on you are the ones that tend to stick around and become classics. Good luck to them, I’m really looking forward to it!
Yeah I feel like people hang on too much on nostalgia, I didn't grewn up listening to their first album or FWN, I actually started listening to them because of Four out of five but yeah if they still had their old sound it would feel so repetitive and boring...few bands can continue a certain sound and still make it seem new and innovative. I think it's great they're experimenting with new genres, if you like it or not they really don't care bc they will continue doing what they want lol

I don't think he's high during interviews I just feel that he's incredibly introverted in interview settings because you can't anticipate what the questions will be or how to answer them and sometimes perhaps he just can't converse easily. I'm exactly the same, I hate small talk. 😅

Probably just because Matt swore and he was checking with the camera/ director crew if that was alright. Especially as they didn't want to get too graphic later but told they were allowed, this shows their preconception that no profanity was allowed on the program. Don't think it's too deep lmao
