    Best tip no one says crouch to get a stealth shot and get 2.5 damage to insta kill most animals with a bow!!!!!!! no one has mentioned it

    • @benny9
      @benny9  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, I guess two reasons I didn't think to mention it. First is that I feel this mechanic has become standard in most survival games, and second once your higher level you just don't need to bother on lower tier enemies.
      That said, I should have included it, just forgot! Pinning your comment! I'll probably end up revising this in a few months, I'll be sure to add that in.

    Good video. They are doing a free weekend, so I thought I'd check it out. As someone who's going into this basically blind, the main menu baffled me with the missions, open world and outposts. Add the tech trees, talents, shared loot, multiple currencies, different maps and a ton of other things, I felt very overwhelmed. Your video helped me a lot, thx brother.

      I was wondering if you might do a video on the Talent trees and which ones are best for specific builds.

    • @benny9
      @benny9  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @dgfhdshfjd I've been thinking about doing that. The tough part about doing that is how much it depends on play style. Plus the build is going to change (you'll respec) as you get into higher tiers. For instance, you'll want to spec into bows early then respec to guns later. But I'll probably put something together on the next couple weeks.

    An addition I would add is to build multiple camp fires. You can spread out your cooking for foods that are going off. They also make for handy early game storage without having to use points on boxes. They don't look great, but it saves a point that can be better spent (rag torch for example).

    • @benny9

    One note - while the timer is irl, it also only ticks down while in game now.
    So despite having 7 days for a mission, it's actually 168 hours in that specific world. (Playtime) to complete your task.
    While some missions are designed with that in mind...most were deaigned before the switch to pausing while offline so give you an absurd amount of time to do it
    A 30 day mission will let upu play in that world for 720 hours

    Don't forget to add support to your structures (posts - you don't need to go crazy though). Without proper support they can collapse on you. It can catch you out especially when building vertically or adding heavy items (workbenches).

    • @benny9

      You don't need them unless you exceed 2 squares out ot strart going up. In the next vid I add supports before building up. But you're right, I should have mentioned it to about confusion later. Originally was supposed to be one vid but I had to split it for length.

There's even level differences WITHIN the zones. Basically as you travel farther from the drop area the levels get tougher and your more likely to find tougher enemy types.

    what i cant find ANYWHERE is info about returning to the station from open world. every comment and video contradicts and the wiki contradicts itself...
    other YT vids say if I fly back to the station then everything on my person gets destroyed, and my base gets wiped and i have to start again, what i dont understand is HOW do i spend the exotics i mine on the open world map if i can't return to the only place that lets me use them??

    • @benny9
      @benny9  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      You CAN fly back to the station and return to your same open world. But, you need to remove any items that came from the planet first. Just drop that stuff in a chest first. Your open world base will NOT be destroyed.
      That is the first way to spend exotics/ren on items and then deploy them when you drop back down. The other, and better, way is to build an Orbital Exchange Interface. It's a tier 2 blueprint. With that you can call down cargo pods with equipment, purchase equipment while on planet, and send unused or broken equipment back up. It's also the only way to send up exotics when you find them.

    Thank you for this video. I am playing it because of the free weekend to see if I like it because its very expensive to buy all the dlcs. Already I am cursing it!!!!! I cant even place the door. It says it needs to snap. Yet when I craft a wooden wall and push R to get the variants, Instead, it rotates it and I get a plain wall and not a door frame and yes Ive unlocked wooden wall and door. I also see no options for storage and cant find fuel to start a fire. Ive lost count of how many tiimes I have died because I hadnt yet even been able to make a bed! It gets dark fast and stays dark forever where because I have no fuel, I dont even have lighting. So far, its a bitch of a game with no guide a quite a tough level for starting out. Even when Im buildidng something then decide not to, how the heck do you cancel out of crafting it?! I started in mission mode. Should I restart in open world?

    • @benny9
      @benny9  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Let me see if I can help out with a few of these issues.
      First, you don't need all that DLC. The base game has tons of content already. Start with that and wait until the DLC goes on sale again if you're ready for more by then.
      The door only fits in the door variant of the wall. You need to hold R to open the variants options.
      Storage crates are available in the tech tree where you unlocked the walls.
      You can burn wood in fire pit as fuel. You need to build that first of you haven't already.
      For light, there's a torch that can be unlocked in the tech tree as well.
      The first few levels are tough as you try to unlock those basic survival items. If you stick with it I think you'll find it rewarding. But it's certainly not for everyone.
      I would start in open world mode and see if you can follow along with my new player guide. And don't worry about wasting your time, any levels and unlocks you already received on missions carries over to any other mission or open world.
      Good luck!

    Hi, Played 20 hours over this free weekend of Open World. I would say some thigns are good and some are bad. Impression is mixed.
    Graphics are pretty good. Enviroment effects towards player good, weather penalties towards player and structures I did not like.
    Needing to level to be able to unlock recipes did not like it took forever.
    Being too slow and therefore could not travel more than two squares from base did not like
    Mined the hell of 6 nearby caves and unlocked bunch of stuff that basically did not change gameplay a lot.
    Played with a friend for around 20 hours and he got barely level 30+. We unlocked bunch of stuff and many of them are complicated to craft for no reason.
    Most of those things did not change the gameplay at all.
    Not really impressed with the game.
    Made stone house, better tools and weapons, one drill, did few hunting missions, made canteen and oxygen tank and tamed a horse by accident which helped with ore transport.
    Thats all, the way the game is played did not change much from level 1.

    • @benny9
      @benny9  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not for everyone. I think the progression is right on par for what most survival players are looking for. Not that the game isn't without issues, but I think pacing is just right for a lot of people. Once you unlock missions around level 10, I think the game gets really interesting. But doesn't sound like it's your thing and that's ok. We're spoiled for choices these days!

      The XP and everything you do snowballs quickly.. I failed to beat my first mission attempt after about twenty hours of flailing around blindly. By the third mission I was surpassing my progression in game one within an hour. Then adding a few of the first exotic items has me dropping in better prepared than I was after the first 20 hours.

      @ghs57 this is what I love about the game. It really rewards your effort. This one is a slow burn but feels great when you hit those milestones.
      Though I do get that some people want faster gratification. The game isn't for everyone.
