Most items yes. And I normally do. Torches you can't, and you can actually benefit from destroying them when they're nearly used up to get half the materials back. At least early on when those materials might matter. As for anything else I might have destroyed instead of repairing, it's probably just because I play too many games and sometimes forget what I'm playing. Lol

Sorry, it's really not much of a beginners guide. It's more for grinding exotics. I could have been clearer on that. When you're new, the best way is to hunt exotics in caves. In open world, at the start there's a chance for each cave to contain an exotics node. Every three hours of in game time the caves have another chance to spawn exotics. So there's a never ending supply of cave nodes. It's a slow way to go about it but that's how you get started at first. You'll be tempted to buy other things first but if you want to farm then save up for that first extractor. I'll probably should do another video for that.

@@benny9 That would be great if you did! I played wayyy back on initial launch, saw the steam page again recently and that theyve consistently been updating the game, so decided to hop back into it! Loving the new player solo series as well so eventually when you get into exotics on that series Ill prob see it there!

Can you confirm if you 80% mine a node will it respawn like a boulder/rock

During testing I never had a single non-stone mining node respawn no matter how much I mined from it unless for some reason that section of map was reset during an update. I think respawns from updates is where a lot of the misinformation comes from in the community. There may be other circumstances that lead to it happening as well but from what I've been told by the dev I spoke to it seems like ore node respawns are never part of any intentional game behavior.

I never thought of even trying that but makes sense. Good to know!

There are biofuel and electric extractor as well. But they're higher tier blueprints that take considerable time to build up to so not really practical for those instanced missions.

As Benny pointed out in the video, the extractor he used takes a significant amount of exotics to unlock in the first place, so you'll need to start with the exotics you mine in caves or that you extract with the exotic drills from the tech tree before you are able to unlock these.

I've noticed this happen from time to time in our open world as well. And then suddenly is goes back to normal and the veins are scattered again. It's hard to pin down if there's a bug, some kind of intentional mechanic or it's just coincidence.

@benny9 it's really nice when it happens, we mine out the last deposit and the meteor event happens, and we just go right back to where the shack is already built and do it again!

After you take a mission you can interact with the mission board again, it'll give you the option to cancel the mission. You'll have to wait 10 min to start a new one though. I know exactly what you mean, some are stupid. Lol

Volcanic regions are only on the Prometheus map which is the New Frontiers DLC. If that's the map you're on, the volcanic area is in the North East part of the map.

@qaisarkhan3346 you can't get there from Olympus. You need to have the New Frontiers DLC and then start a new open world game on the Prometheus map. I wish there was a way to go from one to the other but you can't at this time.

Assuming this is an open world game. In order to see that screen after you already started a game, you'll need to load the game and then get back into your drop pod and return to the station. Then the next time you load you'll be dropping back down to the planet and get the loadout screen again. Just remember to remove anything from your character that's not station gear before you get into your drop pod to return to the station. Otherwise that stuff will be destroyed. Just drop it in a container before you leave. Then when you drop back down you can get your stuff back from that container.

@@benny9 I've seen horror posts that peoples open worlds are getting deleted. I'm hesitant to go up and get the suit I've unlocked for fear of losing everything I've built the last 3 weeks. Can you clarify if my house and everything will be ok for open world? Appreciate it :)

Three total for the whole map and they can spawn in any region. I've seen them in complete opposite corners. Though that would be pretty unlucky. I've also had them spawn so close together my group could see two of them from a single vantage point. And yeah, it only takes one drained to trigger it.

@facema0076 I don't think there's a limit. But I'm not 100% on that. One of the guys in my group is over level 100 now and still getting points from what he told me. So I'm guessing it just keeps going.
