Do you think a marketing portfolio is required for internal communications role? I see many North American job positions ask for a website link or portfolio. But how can I communications professional make a portfolio?

I've worked in internal comms for more than a decade and I've never been asked for a porfolio. I've never even HEARD of anyone being asked for a portfolio!
