    The Jazz actually had a problem with their new floor that year and they couldnt play on it at the start of the season. They apparently had to borrow the old floor of Karl Malone and John Stockton who now literally owned it.

    that crossover at 3:36 is mj-patented. he swtiches directions so fast that every time he does that the defenders would be totally fooled. he did a similar one at 92 playoff vs the knicks when starks completely lost balance ( only that one is faster and more deceptive)
    footwork at 5:28 is beautiful as well. so graceful and unconscious he makes that little step in jumper with ease, unlike anyone who is trying to imitate him, turns out to be so stiff.

    I like how the Jazz wore their new uniforms with the old court, even though I like the old uniforms better. But to those debating about when the game took place, it had to be during 1996-97 regular season since that is when they began wearing those jerseys.

    • @nonplayerzealot4
      @nonplayerzealot4 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I remember that Utah began that year with that turquoise colored new court, but something was wrong with it and they had to replace it with the old purple floor until it was fixed. I don't remember what the problem was, water damage, maybe. I know the Lakers played them once that season on the purple floor and that was the same season Kobe shot all those airballs against them in the playoffs, which happened on the turquoise floor. I have a useless Rain Man talent of remembering sh like this, but the Heat changed their unis in 99/00 and were also forced to use their old black court for the early part of that season and by the playoffs, they had switched to that same exact yellow one they still have today. That's an old floor. They rarely keep em that many years in today's league. The Bulls have had the same design on their floor for 20 years, but it's been repainted and the logo touched up. Either that or they replaced the old wood and put in a brand new one that had the same basic design.

    • @HOTRAILProductions
      @HOTRAILProductions 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +nonplayerzealot4
      Same for me regarding the Rain Man talent! Here is so more useless trivia: In every NBA Finals for the Bulls were in, their opposing team wore new uniforms for that season except their first and last championships!

    Holy COW @ 3:34. Jordan broke him off something fierce. Jordan with a "new school" handle would be even mor eunstoppable than he was back then. Amazing move.

  • @jordanlover23
    @jordanlover23 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah, I mean like "And 1" type handles. Jordan was easily the best handling SG/SF of his generation (1985-1993), and he invented/perfected several moves, like the behin-the-back split of the pick&roll, behind the back to the same hand to split the P&R, scissor dribbles between the legs, spin/reverse dribbles to split P&R's, in-and-out dribbles into crossovers etc. Guys like Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill (1995-1998) were the "bridge" generation in terms of handles between Jordan and And-1.

And MJ was about to hit his late 30s here against Horacek and Hornacek was still in his prime, while when Hornacek held Kobe to fewer pts Kobe was in his prime (early 20s) and Hornacek was pretty much over the hill done.
